LCD Projectors LCD projectors have been installed in every district classroom. Our projectors are ceiling mounted and may be operated either manually or with a remote control. Each projector is connected to a classroom computer which will allow large group instruction using a wide range of teacher resources such as curriculum web sites, PowerPoint presentations, server files and streaming video resources from Morris County Media Services. When only the projector is turned on you will see this image on the screen.  Turn on the Computer that is connected to your LCD projector. The computer monitor image will appear in a few moments on both the monitor and on the wall screen. If you do not have an image on both screens check that the green projector light is on. Be sure to check that the three cables are still connected to your splitter box (video amplifier). Also check that the power cable from the splitter box is plugged in (green cable on the right below). Your Ed Tech will help you if you still are having difficulty.  Front of splitter box   Rear view of splitter box. The splitter box is already connected but you may verify the connections by checking the following cables. First check that the cable that comes from your monitor is connected to an output on the splitter box. Next be sure that the cable going to the LCD projector is also connected to an output and last make sure the short cable is connected from the CPU (computer) to the input of the splitter box as shown above. Always check all connections and verify that everything is working prior to your first class. .Common Problems  The focus and screen size have already been set but if there is a problem it is easy to resolve. Each projector has a focus and a screen size adjustment on the lens side of the projector as shown below.  Take care of the equipment. Bulbs are expensive and will always last longer if the projector is allowed to cool off properly. NEVER shut off the projector using the off button. Instead press the power button twice and the image will disappear but the fan will continue to run to cool down the bulb. Shutting off the projector:  First Press the Standby / On Button once.  When you press the Standby / On Button you will see this image on the screen.  Now press the Standby/On button a second time and the bulb will turn off but the fan will continue to run to cool the bulb. It is important to let the fan run until it stops. While the fan is running the amber status light will be displayed as shown below.  After the fan has cooled down the bulb it will turn off and the red display light will be shown. The projector is now in power save mode. You may leave the projector in this mode.
