1.1 Enable “Find me/Follow me” behavior to an external number, an option for transferring to the operator, and sending callers to your voicemail box. This script demonstrates how to leverage the power and simplicity of the service editor. You will learn how to regain control of your communications by specifying exactly what happens when you don’t answer a call to your extension(s). In this example, callers will be provided a menu of options including “find me/follow me”, transfer to the operator, or leaving a voicemail. Note: this script applies only to users with the “Personal Business Assistant” answering mode. You must log in as a user with this option enabled. Right-click under the list of existing services and select New > Service Type a name for the service. E.g. My PBA Double-click the new service to edit it.
From the palette on the left, drag the Play Announcement element over the blank canvas and release the mouse button. The Play Announcement element will play audio that you can record yourself using a computer microphone or your telephone handset. The audio played for the caller here should introduce provide instructions about what options they have. Replace the title of the element with Welcome. Page | 2
Click the red “Record” button, type a name for the new announcement you’re going to record (e.g. welcome) and click Select. The audio editor will appear. You can write text at the bottom of the audio editor to help you remember what you would like to say. For example, write “Hello, you’ve reached John Smith. If you would like the system to try to locate me, press 1 now. If you would like to speak to the operator press 0. Otherwise, hold the line to be directed to my voice mailbox and I’ll return your call as soon as possible.”
Click the button to record audio using your microphone. Click the button to record audio using your handset. When ready to record audio, click the button. When the dialog box appears, click to start recording audio. When the “Time recorded” counter starts, speak out the text you wrote in the audio editor. Click stop when complete (or if using the telephone, simply hang up the handset). Click OK when finished recording. If satisfied, click window.

Enable the checkbox for Change the value for second dropdown list to “0”.
Under the palette on the left, click “Standard” and drag and drop the Voice Mail element on the connection pin. Drag and drop the Assisted Transfer element on the connection pin. Drag and drop the Transfer Call element on the connection pin.

Type the telephone number where you would like the system to try and find you. Click OK.

In the Transfer element, click radio button. Holding the mouse button down, click the connection pin and drag the mouse over the Voice Mail 1 element on the canvas, and let go of the mouse button. Repeat for the connection pin.

You will now see a preview of the service in the UC Client window.

To assign the service to your identity (extension) number, locate the identity you would like this behavior for at the bottom lefthand side of the UC Client window Click the corresponding fly-out and under the arrow “Services” menu select “My PBA”. At this point, when someone calls your identity (extension) and you do not answer, the “My PBA” service will be executed.
