Leaky Feeder Cable Model 20-00007, 20-00008, 20-00020, 20-00041 PBE SAFETY & PRODUCTIVITY SOLUTIONS PBE’s Leaky Feeder Cable is Part of the PBE Leaky Feeder System which provides a highly effective and safe underground communication system a b c d e The image above shows a stripped Leaky Feeder cable with: a) Outer sheath; b) Fire retardant sheath; c) Foam dielectric; d) 16 Helical wound copper strands; e) Center conductor FE ATU RES OV ERVI E W • Flame retardant • Rugged construction • Yellow or blue outer sheath • Low smoke halogen free PBE’s Leaky Feeder cable is used to transmit/receive or distribute RF signals throughout a confined space. PBE’s Leaky Feeder cable is a coaxial cable with a specially designed outer shielding that allows RF signals to leak and enter the cable. It also allows signals from radio transceivers located nearby to enter and travel along the cable to the base station. In a confined environment, the power radiated from the cable is limited to 10 mW to prevent the RF energy from interfering with electric detonators. The cable has a radiation pattern of 360 degrees. There are printed length indicators on every meter of the cable to assist in cable layout. Air dielectric leaky feeder cables have a ‘hollow tube’ which if damaged allows water to rundown the cable and damage system components. PBE’s Leaky Feeder cables are branded proprietary designs that are manufactured to PBE’s specifications for use with PBE amplifiers and ancillary devices which use saddle and clamp connectors.
