Product Notice - Leap Year Issue on Wireless Video Monitors Affected Products: LW2902, LW2702, LW2301 When the time and date is set to a leap year (such as 2012 or 2016), the video monitors listed above are able to correctly save the time and date as long as they are turned on, but they will revert to the default time and date (January 1, 2009) if they are turned off or lose power. This does not affect the other settings, including automatic recording on the video monitor; however, if the time and date is not reset after the video monitor is restarted, recordings made after the video monitor is restarted will have inaccurate time stamps. Customers who have purchased one of the listed products are encouraged to take the following precautions to ensure that the time and date stays correct on their systems or to avoid having to reset the time and date when the video monitor is turned off or loses power: • Keep the video monitor plugged in and turned on at all times. Do not unplug the video monitor or turn it off using the power switch. • If there is a power outage or the video monitor turns off or becomes unplugged, immediately reset the time and date. See the Instruction Manual for instructions on how to set the time and date on your video monitor. • Consider setting the time and date on the video monitor to a non-leap year (such as 2011 or 2013). This will allow the video monitor to save the time and date if the monitor is turned off or unplugged. Please note that, after February 28th, you will have to set the date back one day to keep the correct date. • If you live in an area that has frequent power outages, consider connecting your video monitor and camera or cameras to an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). A UPS has a built-in battery that will keep your video monitor and cameras running in the event of a power outage. This will prevent the time and date from being reset and will allow you to continue to view your cameras and record. The duration of backup power varies between different models of UPS, and you may have to reset the time and date after an extended power outage. Please note that this notice only applies to the model numbers listed above and does not apply to other Lorex wireless video monitors or products.
