We have over 20 years experience specifically with LED technology, which has enabled our specialist team to develop an outstanding range of stunning LED luminaires utilising only the most cutting edge technology. We employ Chip On Board (COB) LED arrays for optimum performance. In addition, many of our products are dimmable either by simple switch or advanced systems, facilitating total lighting control. We work in partnership with lighting & interior designers, engineers, electrical contractors, industrial partners and more recently we have established a UK network of accredited ECOLED stocking dealers. We focus on three key areas of lighting: Residential Commercial Retail Most of our products come with a five year guarantee. All of our products comply with current building regulations. The extensive ECOLED portfolio is designed in our UK factory and manufacturing is carried out at our global production facilities. This allows us to be extremely competitive and ensures every item we release is sophisticated, reliable and affordable. 4 Environment and EcoLED Greater Lifespan A typical incandescent bulb has a lifespan of around 2,000 hours ECOLED lights are expected to have an optimum performance life of over 50,000 hours with little degradation of light output. That is 17 years in an average household (based on 8 hours per day average use), ten times the lifespan of an compact fluorescent and 25 times longer than a filament lamp. ECOLED lamps are solid state making them extremely robust and virtually eliminating maintenance or replacements. Cool and Safe ECOLED lights generate very little heat therefore providing secondary energy and cost reduction benefits such as reducing the workload of air conditioning systems. LED Energy Savings Mercury Free and Eco-Friendly Unlike compact fluorescents that need careful handling on disposal, ECOLED Lights are mercury free, manufactured in recycled materials as much as possible and may then be in turn recycled at the end of their life. Efficiency – ECOLED vs Halogen Many built environments require lights to be running 24 hours per day in common areas, often using 50W Halogen units that are expensive to run, inefficient in their ratio of power to output and require frequent maintenance and replacement. ECOLEDs typically use 80-90% less energy than a 50W halogen thus even in small installations, the savings and return on investment is obvious. Colour Temperature Modern LED luminaires now offer a full colour spectrum as well as the comfort of the familiar ‘Warm White’ glow of the old incandescent bulb. Dimming Many of our products can be dimmed using a dimmable driver and a suitable dimming controller. 8 Intensity (Lumens) The lumen is a measure of the power of light as perceived by the human eye. A 100W incandescent light bulb produces roughly 1200 lumens, about 12 lumens per watt. Our LEDs typically produce over 80 lumens per watt thus producing over 6 times the light output for the same amount of power. Efficiencies are improving every year. Colour Rendering The Colour Rendering Index (CRI) is used to measure how accurately a lighting source renders the color of objects when compared to sunlight. Sunlight is defined to have a CRI of 100. EcoLEDs have very high CRI values making them the most suitable technology for general lighting today. To decide on the Power Supply Unit required, simply add up the number of metres on the circuit and multiply that by the Wattage per metre to calculate the total load. Then, specify the Power Supply Unit with an output value greater than that number. So, 60 LEDS per metre in single colour uses 5W per metre. Three metres = 15W therefore, an 18W PSU will be required as the load is too high for the 12W. Below we show the approximate Watts per metre of the different types of Flexi-Strip.
