Overview ThinkCentre® users can now experience the superior image quality1 and system performance by upgrading their ThinkCentre desktop system with one of the new Lenovo™ ATI Radeon HD-series Graphics Adapter option upgrades. By adding a separate graphics adapter, you can improve overall system performance and help increase your productivity when you have:
• The demands of graphic-intensive software for desktop publishing, animation, presentation, and other multimedia formats
• The need to view multiple operations such as manufacturing or financial transactions simultaneously across dual monitors By installing a separate graphics adapter with dedicated memory and superior graphics processor (compared to embedded graphics) to perform all graphics functions, you can significantly offload the system CPU and main memory resources from demanding graphics tasks. This enables your latest software applications to run faster and appear better while improving overall system performance. You can also benefit from the improved image filtering a dedicated graphics adapter can deliver, such as:

HDCP is a digital rights management to control the digital audio and video content as it travels across the Digital Visual Interface (DVI). HDCP helps to prevent transmission of non-encrypted high-definition content. The system would encrypt signals before they are sent out as digital signals. The encrypted signals would pass through the HDCP-enabled graphics adapter to an "HDCP-enabled" DVI monitor. The DVI monitor would decode the incoming signals. If the DVI monitor is not "HDCP-enabled", the monitor cannot display the image. Unified Video Decoder (UVD) H.264 and VC-1 UVD is a hardware feature that offloads video decoding from the system CPU to the graphics adapter graphics processing unit (GPU) providing smooth multiformat high-definition (HD) video playback. A key benefit of UVD is lower system power consumption. UVD is designed to be used in a range of video applications, for example, watching Blu-ray HD-DVD movies. H.264 is a video compression scheme for consumer electronics and PCs. H.264 has been selected as a key compression scheme for the next generation of optical disco formats, HD-DVD and Blu-ray disc. The HD 2400 and HD 2600-series support hardware, not software, acceleration of decoding. Dual-Link DVI Dual-Link DVI supports high-resolution LCD digital monitors. This includes 2048 x 1536 (QXGA) at 75 Hz, 2560 x 1600 (WQXA) at 60 Hz and 3840 x 2400 at 33 Hz. This feature is only supported on the HD 2600XT, and the 2600XT supports attachment of two digital monitors via dual-link DVI. monitors.
