Q: How do I obtain an Eval license key? A: All requests must be made initially with your Juniper Sales or Channel Representative.

Q: What is LMS? A: LMS is the License Management System from Juniper Networks. It is an online tool which enables our J-Partners and/or
End User to retrieve and activate their product license key(s). 3.
Q: How do I order a license? A: All product license keys are purchased like a product via a Juniper Networks J-Partner.

Q: What is an “Authorization Code”? A: An authorization code is a 16 character code used in conjunction with the device serial number to generate a license key.

Q: I didn’t receive my Authorization Code. A: Please contact your reseller for status on your authorization codes.

Q: How do I get my license key? A: Log into your online CSC account and go to the LMS (License Management System) tool:
http://www.juniper.net/generate_license. Scroll down and select your product type. Enter your serial number and your authorization code. Select the “Generate” button. 7.
Q: I am trying to generate my license key but I am receiving an error. I entered my serial number and my authorization code. What’s wrong? A: Which screen OS version are you using? If you are using 4.0 or below you will need to open a customer care case by either
calling 1-800-638-8296 or by accessing the online Case Manager tool located in your CSC account. https://www.juniper.net/cm/case_create_choice.jsp. Be sure to include which screen OS version you are using. 8.
Q: I’m getting an “Invalid Number Combination” error from the online LMS http://www.juniper.net/generate_license when I’m trying to obtain my license key for the upgrade I purchased. A: You need to enter the hardware serial number from your unit. Do not use the RTU serial number on the certificate.

Q: My temporary license key for my WX unit is going to/has expired. What do I need to do to get a permanent key? A: Go to http://www.juniper.net/generate_license. Scroll down and select your product type. Enter your serial number and
select the “Generate” button. 2.
Q: Do I need an authorization code to get my license for my WX/DX unit? A: Only if you purchase an upgrade. Otherwise, go to http://www.juniper.net/generate_license, scroll down and select
your product type. Enter your serial number and select the “Generate” button. Disregard the field that says authorization code. 3.
Q: What are the paid features available for my DX unit? A: There are only two features available to for purchase for your DX unit.

Q: I want to upgrade the speed of my WX-20 to 256 Kbps. What do I need to do? A: Prior to placing your order with your Reseller, you need to check the current speed on your unit. If you have previously
applied an upgrade, you do not need to purchase the new upgrade from the base speed. 10. Q: How do I find what speed my unit is currently licensed for? A: Access the LMS tool at http://www.juniper.net/generate_license. Click on the “Find License Keys” tab. Enter your serial number and click on search. You will see the details of your unit. Q: How do I register my subscription license? A: Once you have purchased your subscription, you will receive an authorization code via email. At that point you can go to
http://tools.juniper.net/subreg/. Using your device serial number and your authorization code you will be able to activate your subscription. Your subscription will be active for one year from the date you registered it. 2.
Q: How do I renew my subscription license? A: You will be contacted 90 days prior to your subscription end date. Once a renewal PO is issued, and the order is processed,
you will receive a confirmation letter from Juniper. Your subscription will automatically be renewed for another year.

Q: How do I get a trial subscription key? A: Log into the LMS link http://www.juniper.net/generate_license and click on the trial keys for Firewall/IPSec VPN and
Intrusion Prevention product features. Enter your device serial number to see which subscription trial keys are available for your device. Select which trial you want and click on “Generate”. Choose your delivery method. 4.
Q: How long will my trial subscription last? A: Trial subscriptions are for 30 days. A device can get a trial key for one 30 day period for a specific subscription in a year.

Serial number of the SSL product the authorization code was intended for.
Serial number of the unit the authorization code was mistakenly used on.
The SO/PO number for the authorization code.
Q: I’m receiving an error while loading my new license key. What should I do?
**For version 5.0 and below only. A: Please be sure to do the following steps. If you are still unable to load your license key, please open a customer care case by
calling 1-800-638-8296 or by accessing the online Case Manager tool through your CSC account.

Copy and paste the company name as it appears.
Copy the license strings as they appear starting with the unit string.
Q: After upgrading to 5.1 IVE my cluster key is not working. What should I do? A: Please open a customer care case by calling 1-800-638-8296 or by accessing the Case Manager tool available online through

Q: How do I request an Eval key for a SA700? A: To date we do not have an Eval SKU for this product line.

Q: When I upgraded my NFR/Lab license key to 5.1, my license key did not upgrade. A: Only permanent license keys can be upgraded to 5.1. Please open a customer care case by calling 1-800-638-8296 or by
