InFusion PLS80E System Lifecycle Product Phase Listing PLS80E Lifecycle Report Oktober 2011 InFusion PLS80E System Lifecycle Product Phase Listing Einführung Dieses Dokument stellt eine Auflistung der Hauptkomponenten von InFusion PLS80E zur Verfügung, und zeigt deren Status innerhalb Ihres Lifecycle. Die InFusion PLS80E Lifecycle Support Policy beinhaltet fünf definierte Supportphasen – Preferred, Available, Mature, LifeTime and Obsolete Phases. Bei Produkten in der Preferred Phase handelt es sich um die aktuelle, bevorzugte Standard Hardware des jeweiligen Funktions- bzw. Produktbereichs. Produkte dieser Kategorie werden aktiv beworben, produziert, weiterentwickelt und verkauft. Produkte in der Available Phase repräsentieren verfügbare Standard Produkte die weiterhin produziert und verkauft werden, die aber für neue Installationen nicht mehr aktiv angeboten werden. Typischerweise werden diese Produkte für Erweiterungen verkauft. Befindet sich ein Produkt in dieser Phase, kann das gleichzeitig als früher Hinweis darauf gesehen werden, dass dieses Produkt mittelfristig aus dem Verkaufsprogramm genommen wird. Die Mature Phase beginnt wenn ein Produkt aus dem Verkaufsprogramm genommen wurde. Wenn ein Produkt aus dem Programm genommen wird, werden wir sicherstellen das es ein umfassendes, klar definiertes Support Programm gibt, um weiterhin die volle Funktion der Systeme unserer Kunden zu gewährleisten. Wie lange sich ein Standard Produkt in der Mature Phase befindet ist variable. Die Dauer ist abhängig vom Typ des Produktes und ist direkt abhängig vom Grad der möglichen Prozessunterbrechung – je schwieriger sich ein Austausch gestaltet umso länger der Verbleib in dieser Phase. ● E/A Produkte umfassen den größten Anteil installierter Komponenten und ihr Austausch macht die meisten Probleme, da der Austausch oft nur bei abgeschaltetem Prozess möglich ist. Aus diesem Grund dauert ihre Mature Phase 10 Jahre. ● Computer- und Kommunikationsmodule unterliegen einem kürzeren Produktzyklus da sie signifikante Verbesserungen und Erweiterungen bereitstellen können. Sie auszutauschen kann aber ebenfalls zu großen Problemen bei unseren Kunden führen, da auch hier meist der Prozess abgestellt werden muss. Die Dauer der Mature Phase beträgt in der Regel fünf Jahre. ● Rechner Hardware (Workstations, Bedienstationen, RTS, LWS) ändert sich relativ schnell. Neue Hardware bringt auch mehr Leistung. Produkte aus dieser Kategorie haben eine dreijährige Mature Phase. Die LifeTime Phase beginnt mit dem Ende der fest definierten Mature Phase. Der Support für diese Produkte wird so lange aufrechterhalten wie wir erfolgreiche Reparatur oder einen Austausch anbieten können. Trotzdem wird es einen Punkt geben, an dem wir ein geliefertes Produkt nicht mehr reparieren oder ersetzen können. Wenn dieser Zeitpunkt gekommen ist, werden wir eine Mitteilung an unsere registrierten Kunden verschicken, die das entsprechende Produkt als potentiell veraltet kennzeichnet. Produkte befinden sich in der Obsolete Phase wenn sie auch mit größter Anstrengung unsererseits nicht mehr zu reparieren oder zu ersetzen sind. Wir sind bemüht, mindestens ein Jahr im Voraus eine entsprechende Notiz zu dem betreffenden Produkt herauszugeben, in dem wir die Erwartung bekannt geben dieses Produkt innerhalb der nächsten Monate weder ersetzen noch reparieren zu können. ► Zur Aufrüstung auf neue aktuelle Komponenten sind keine Änderung des Engineerings der Funktionen notwendig. (C) Invensys Systems, Inc., 2008 All Rights Reserved Seite 2 von 7 InFusion PLS80E System Lifecycle Product Phase Listing Introduction This document provides a listing of the major InFusion PLS80E products and where they are in their lifecycles. The InFusion PLS80E Lifecycle Support Policy includes five defined support phases – Preferred, Available, Mature, LifeTime and Obsolete Phases. Products in the Preferred Phase are Standard Hardware (and Software) that are the most recent products available in their functional area. Products in this category are actively being promoted, enhanced, produced and sold. Products in the Available Phase represent Standard Products that are available for sale and are being produced, but are no longer the Preferred Product offering. Typically, these products are sold for expansions, not for new installations. This designation also serves as early notice that the product will be withdrawn from sale. The Mature Phase begins when the product is withdrawn from sale. Even though the product is withdrawn, we are committed to ensure that a comprehensive, clearly defined support program is firmly in place. The length of time that a Standard Product remains in the Mature Phase varies, based on product type, and is directly related to the degree of disruption to our Customers’ processes – the more difficult it is to remove, the longer the duration. ● I/O products, are the single largest installed component and the most disruptive to take off-line, therefore they are supported in the Mature Phase for ten years. ● Controls and Network Communications products change regularly and provide significant enhancements, but can be difficult for our Customers to take these processors off-line, therefore, they are supported in the Mature Phase for five years. ● Workstations change relatively quickly and new hardware provides many benefits. Products in this category will be in the Mature Phase for 3 years. Software packages are supported in the Mature Phase for two years. LifeTime Phase begins at the end of the predefined Mature Phase and products will be supported on a best efforts basis for as long as we can provide a quality repair or replacement. However, at some point, we may no longer be able to repair or replace a given product. At that time a Customer Notification is pushed pro-actively to our registered users identifying the product as potentially Obsolete. Obsolete Phase Products are typically identified when, after our best effort to support, maintain, repair and/or offer MEP exchanges, we find that we can no longer provide certain products. Every effort is made to provide at least one year’s notice before it is anticipated that there will no longer be a supply of replacement or repairable modules. ► For Upgrading to state-of-the-art Modules there is no change on the function-engineering necessary.
