Issue: In the past when the (M6) Stacker Bin Lift Motor failed on the Multifunction Finisher C8088A and C8088B it required a whole unit replacement. In recent months we have noticed an increase in motor failures on this device. To reduce service costs we have put in place a new service part for replacing the (M6) Stacker Bin Lift Motor assembly. The new part number is 4G1-3999-030CN. Replacement Procedure: 1.
Remove the back cover: a. Remove six screws (callout 1) b. Lift the lower section of the cover upward to release an internal tab (callout2) c. Lift the cover slightly, and then slide it toward the output bins to release an internal tab (callout 3) d. Slide the power cord and the Jet-Link cable through the large holes in the cover, and remove the cover

2. Once the cover is removed, locate the Stacker Bin Lift Motor assembly.

Release the 3 cable guides (callout 4)

Disconnect 3 connectors (callout 5).

Remove 5 screws (callout 6) Remove the Motor Assembly.

Note: Once the motor is completely removed, watch for the white plastic bushing that goes into the upper part of the assembly. This bushing will normally fall out during the process of removing the motor assembly.
NOTE: This white plastic bushing DOES NOT come with the new motor assembly.
7. To install the new Motor Assembly, insert the white plastic bushing into the sheet metal of the new Motor assembly and slide the Motor assembly back into position. Note: Hold the white plastic bushing in place while you install the motor assembly.

Make sure the shaft from the belt gear fit into the white plastic bushing:

Make sure the sheet metal tabs (on the motor assembly) fit into the slots on the chassis (callout 7)

Reinstall the 5 screws, step 5 Reconnect the connectors, step 4 Make sure the PCA cables are routed correctly and close the 3 cable guides, step 3 Reinstall the back cover, step 1
