Noise Reduction features benefits: Noise is recognized as a major contributor to operator fatigue, and consequently, lessens productivity. This is why engineers reduce noise levels wherever possible. Iso-engine mounts also transfer vibration to the solid steel frame, while engine hood insulation material reduces noise from engine to operator. Helical gears in the transmission reduce powertrain noise Wheel wells are closed to reduce engine noise and increase cooling efficiency Hydraulic control valve is rubber mounted to chassis reducing noise and promoting longer life. Hydraulic Accumulator in transmission control valve promotes smooth take-offs and directional changes. Changes up to 2.5 mph, reducing shocks in the powertrain Hydraulic pump enclosed to reduce noise Reduced noise and vibration helps reduce fatigue on the operator and thereby improves productivity. Reduced vibration also improves the life on the parts of the trucks reducing maintenance cost. Stable Frame & Body Made from solid steel plate Overhead guard Fully cast steer axle Low profile counterweight Heavy duty mast Robust Frame benefits Made in Houston, TX. The robust frame is engineered first on a computer using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), then tested in the real applications. The FEA models the truck frame and calculates with loads where stresses occur. Then the frame can be modified via a computer model to reduce or eliminate stress points. The frame is then built and further stress testing is done to insure the most robust frame. 13/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION The benefits are: • Durability - Strong frames provide more stability - Integrated tanks are structurally part of the frame • Rigidity - More steel - Low center of gravity for greater increased residual capacity - Solid one piece steer axle for less leak points • Paint with undercoating and multiple layers - Low solvent paints produce less waste and lower volatile compounds - Powder coat paint system Overhead Guard benefits • No longitudinal (left to right) bars • Better view of fork tips so less effort placing load at full height • High air intake • Cleaner air from higher levels brought to engine, decreasing dirt and particles entering the engine • Reducing repairs or maintenance caused by lower contaminated air entering the engine compartment Low Profile Counterweight benefits • Provides customers with maximum residual capacity • Smaller turning radius (see specifications) • Designed for maximum airflow to cooling system (critical for high shuttle and dusty/dirty applications) • Low profile provides greater visibility 14/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Air Intake and Exhaust SystemModels Air intake Exhaust system Air Intake System Contaminated air will take away power and eventually ruin an engine. The air intake vent has an air cleaner installed with following benefits: • Attention was paid to deliver fresh, clean air to the engine with this system. Dirt particles kicked up from the floor by truck operation usually will not reach this height. • Air cleaner removes contaminants in a two stage process: - Vanes around the filter element create a cyclone effect causing large dust particles to drop to the bottom of the air cleaner canister - A dry paper element filters the remaining fine particles from the air • Filter element can easily be replaced without the use of tools Exhaust System • Located under the counterweight in the rear end of the truck away from the operator and mounted horizontally behind the radiator. It has two walls, using fiber-glass insulation to dampen exhaust noise. • A three-way catalyst is also included as a standard feature to meet EPA regulations. Engine Engines LPG Engine Engine protection system Pistons Crankshaft Overhead valves Engine lubrication system OHV industrial design Cooling system Ignition system purePOWER® Engines GM 4.3L V6 purePOWER® engines are designed to work in the most demanding conditions, employing reliable and proven technology. Skillful engineering has resulted in this advanced series of engines having all the characteristics critical for lift truck applications. • High performance • Low noise and vibrations • Excellent fuel economy • Low HC, NOx, and CO emissions that meet EPA and CARB regulations 15/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Engine protection system Engine Protection System • Monitors engine oil pressure, coolant temperature, transmission temperature. • Lowers engine power when overheating at 104 degrees Celsius. It will shut-off at 110 degrees Celsius. • Slower travel speeds • Slower hydraulic speeds Lamps on instrument panel indicate low oil pressure or high transmission temperature, if the engine oil pressure drops significantly. The benefits are: • Minimizes costly repairs when failures occur • Operators can quickly inform maintenance crews of maintenance needs • Standard equipment for Cat Lift Trucks, while others (if offered) have it as an option. Pistons The pistons have two compression rings and one oil scraper ring for optimum efficiency. Crankshaft The crankshaft and other major internal moving components have been dynamically balanced to maximize the reduction of engine vibration. Overhead Valves The engine uses overhead valves. A rocker shaft located in the cylinder block controls the valves and push rods transfer the movement to the valves. This industrial design reduces premature wear in the valve train. Engine Lubrication System A filtered full-flow pressure feed system for optimum engine protection. Multiple oil ports provide ample flow of lubricant to the engine and its main working parts. 16/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION OHV Industrial Design Uses a electronic controlled throttle body to control the engine speed and is pre-set at the factory. This simple and proven design provides many benefits to the engine and customers, such as: • Prevents the hydraulic pump and fan drive from being over sped • In high traffic applications provides controlled speed • Safety incentives can benefit from lower traffic speeds • Can reduce insurance premiums for companies Cooling Cooling System The engine cooling system is a three-fluid system, with controlled circulation by means of a wax thermostat. A plate fin radiator is standard equipment on the GC35K – GC70K. A corrugated square fin radiator is available as option for larger cooling capacity. Ignition System The LPG engine uses a full solid-state type low-voltage ignition system. The benefits are: • Provides sufficient energy for ignition even with low battery voltage conditions • Ensures easy starting of the engine The PTO (or power take off) is driven by means of an external shaft. This is used to drive the hydraulic pump, effectively abolishing an external shaft. The engines use closed type crankcase ventilation in order to reduce exhaust emissions. Drive train Drive Train Powershift Transmissionodels The transmission utilizes many components to get the job done efficiently and smoothly. We have incorporated innovative and reliable designs to insure a smooth ride and durable lift truck. Clutch Packs Utilize two hydraulically actuated oil cooled clutch pack assemblies. One for forward direction and one for reverse direction. Clutch pack assemblies consist of 6 carbon fiber separator plates that transmit torque and motion from the input to the output shaft. 17/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION The benefits are: • Dissipate the frictional heat (created during normal operation) • Mounted to reduce power loss through the transmission • Increase power for better overall efficiency Helical gears Helical Gears • Offer reduced noise • Better for force distribution Control Valve Uses “drive-by-wire” technology and incorporates a solenoid valve or “electro-hydraulic shift” for directing oil flow to the clutch packs. Inching Valve The inching valve enables the operator to completely or partly disengage the transmission when driving. The precise control promotes effective maneuvering, thus increasing efficiency and reducing damages to the load and property. Drive Train Powershift Transmissionodels Oil Cooler The transmission oil cooler is located inside the radiator. The continuous circulation allows the heat from the clutch packs to be dissipated easily through the air of the radiator. An external radiator cooler can be added as a CSM option for harsher applications. Torque converter Torque Converter Located between the engine and transmission, it connects the engine flywheel to the transmission input shaft. The fluid connection provides two important benefits: • Transfers power from the engine to the transmission smoothly 18/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION • Multiplies the torque sent to the transmission, providing increased power on demand Drive Axle A one piece single cast housing: • Reduces potential leak points. • Absorbs the shock and stresses from the wheels. • Axle shafts transmit torque only to the drive wheels and not load stresses. Electrical system 12Volt Electrical System 12V Electric System These trucks use a 12V electrical system which is very advantageous for communality and lower cost of standard service parts. Starter Battery The starter battery is located on the right-hand side of the chassis. Relays and fuses are located on the engine inside the dash board. The benefits are: • The system uses standard fuses. • Grouped and conveniently located just in front of the battery. • Easy identification of corresponding relays and fuses are printed inside the top cover of each box. Ignition Switch The anti-restart feature reduces the risk of starter engagement, while the engine is running. Audible Alarms (standard) An audible alarm will sound when driving in reverse. 19/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Brake system Brake System Two Pedal Brake System The two pedal brake system is located to the left of the accelerator and is used to apply the brakes without disengaging the transmission. The inching pedal on the left of the brake pedal simultaneously applies the brakes and disengages the clutch or “inches” by letting the clutch slip as the brakes are released. The benefits of this two-pedal brake system are: • Advantage for customers who must operate their lift truck on an incline • Drivers don’t worry about rolling backwards on graded surfaces • Precise maneuvers can be made in tight areas using the inching pedal • Inching pedal allows for slow, controlled acceleration Brake Assembly The brake assembly is a large 12.2 in. diameter for increased lining to drum contact area. The brake shoes are made of non-asbestos material with very good cold and warm frictional characteristics. This ensures consistent brake feel throughout the shift. When brakes are applied, a self-energizing mechanism transfers turning force from the leading shoe to the training shoe. This presses both shoes against the drum with greater strength and provides more braking force. The benefits are: • Self-energizing shoes reduce the amount of pedal force required to stop a truck • Reducing operator fatigue over the course of a shift • Non-boosted brake system means fewer components to service and repair Self-adjusting mechanism Cushion tires Self-Adjusting Mechanism Eliminates the need for frequent manual adjustment of the brakes, and keeps the brake shoes properly adjusted for even wear throughout their entire service life. When travelling in reverse, the selfadjusting mechanism is activated. As the clearance between the shoes and the drum increases, an adjustment screw is turned one notch by the lever of the adjuster to reposition the shoes closer to the drum. Tiresodels Black treaded cushion drive tires are standard on the complete range of IC cushion lift trucks. Cushion tires provide good traction and good operator comfort. They are recommended for standard applications with reasonable floor conditions where comfort is desired. Cushion tires do not puncture and require less maintenance than pneumatic tires; however, cushion tires offer less shock absorption and are not intended for potted floors or uneven outdoor surfaces. The benefits are: • Provides cushion on dry surfaces 20/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION • More stability due to overall lowered height of the chassis Tire options Non-Marking Tires Non-marking tires are offered in both lugged and smooth tread variations. Non-marking tires offer a solution to those customers concerned about leaving black skid marks on light floors. The non-marking tire options come complete with an anti-static strap, which is required due to the compound used in non-marking tires. Wide Stance Drive Wheels This option is available on the GC35K – GC70K models. The wider stance provides improved capacity retention for some mast-chassis combinations and provides increased lateral stability. Bolt-on fender extensions are included with this option. Full hydrostatic steering Steering SystemGC70K Models Hydrostatic Steering System In a fully hydrostatic system, steering is accomplished by hydraulic oil flow thus eliminating kickback from the steer wheels into the steering wheel. Hydraulic fluid is used to achieve steering so all mechanical linkage is eliminated. With precise steering control less steering wheel effort is required regardless of truck speed. This system has become the accepted “standard” design in the lift truck industry. The benefits are: • Low maintenance • Exceptional operator control and maneuverability • Few mechanical linkage points provide more precise steering control • Fewer lubrication points need services Steering wheel knobs are possible as an option. 21/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Steering system Kingpin design Kingpin Design With hydrostatic steering come key features in the design of the steer axle components. One of these features is the kingpin layout. The kingpin is supported by needle bearings and a thrust bearing. The needle bearings are capable of handling radial forces. (Forces incurred when turning.) A thrust bearing withstands axial forces caused by the weight of the truck. This set up is very easy to maintain and does not require any special tooling to pre-load the bearings. The kingpins require greasing. This prevents premature wear by water and dust since this will be pushed out during maintenance. Steer Axle Made of a solid casting the solid steel axle support is one single unit, giving it superior strength and rigidity. This solid casting is a proven design for excellent durability to withstand stress exerted on the axle and chassis. This strength allows it to withstand even the most punishing ground conditions. Our casting contains homogeneous material and is therefore extremely suitable as a connection piece between the two knuckles and the steering cylinder. Also, with 3° of axle articulation, the operator is able to maneuver and control the lift truck on uneven surfaces. Cooling system Cooling System Radiator The cooling system is one of the most important and the most burdened systems on an internal combustion lift truck. It is usually foremost in the mind of customers as they proceed through the truck selection process and analyze which lift truck is best for their application. So it is essential to be familiar with the cooling system design, associated benefits and options available for demanding applications. 22/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Plate fin radiator Plate-Fin Radiator The standard radiator on the GC35K-GC70K is a plate fin radiator. The radiator has a down flow, made of copper-brass. The openings are much wider and reduce the risk of clogging. The benefits are a more effective area available for cooling since the width of the radiator is less critical than the height. It reduces possible galvanic corrosion in the cooling system. Pusher fan Pusher Fan The GC35K-GC70K trucks use a pusher fan arrangement. The cooling fan is mounted on the water pump and driven by a pulley mounted on the crankshaft. This set-up requires less parts and maintenance. The air is drawn from under the truck and pushed through the radiator and counterweight. This airflow provides efficient cooling even in tough applications. Hydraulic System Hydraulic Pump The hydraulic system of the GC35K – GC70K series features an efficient, shaft driven pump, behind the engine compartment (with the longer lines). This eliminates the need for an auxiliary shaft and reduces clutter and maintenance. The pump is on the engine side so that both the suction and high-pressure lines are shorter. This increases the efficiency of the hydraulic system. The hydraulic pump is specifically designed to provide a low noise environment for the operator. Hydraulic Control Valve Designed for smooth lift control and precise attachment operation. Stackable Valve The control valve is stack-able and is easy to expand to 4 or 5 valves. A 3way configuration with lift, tilt, and auxiliary functions is standard. Notched Control Valve Deliver precise feathering control of the hydraulic flow, an essential feature for tight areas or handling delicate loads. 23/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Hydraulic system Priority valve Priority Valve The priority valve provides priority oil flow to the steering pump. This ensures smooth, easy steering control during multiple hydraulic functions, such as lifting and steering. Lift and Tilt Function The lift and tilt functions on the standard control valve have a relief pressure set at (182.5 bar) 2650 psi. When an optional 4th valve is ordered the relief pressure for the 3rd and 4th functions will be reduced to 2250 psi. However, always verify with the attachment manufacturer the appropriate hydraulic pressure and flow requirements for proper operation. Note that auxiliary circuit relief pressures are not adjustable, but require replacement of the standard relief cartridge by one pre-set at the required relief pressure. Flow Regulator Valve The adjustable flow regulator valve is in-line between the lift control valve and the lift cylinders. It restricts the flow of oil returning from the lift cylinders, thereby limiting the lowering speed if desired. The lowering speed can be adjusted by an easily accessible screw on the valve. This feature allows your customer to tailor the lowering speed to each application. However, the flow regulator valve should never be adjusted to allow the forks to lower faster than the factory setting. Down Safety Valve The lift cylinders are equipped with a down safety valve. This valve allows controlled oil flow in case of hose rupture. The valve only controls the oil flow returning to the control valve. Oil filters Filtration Filter System A two-stage filter system in the tank uses a 150-micron suction strainer and a 15-micron return filter to provide full-time, full flow filtration. The return filter is equipped with a by-pass that opens in case the filter is clogged. This system protects the various precision components that make up the hydraulic system. Both the suction strainer and the return filter can be removed without draining the tank. Oil Filler Cap The oil level in the hydraulic tank is constantly changing with the movement (lift and tilt) of the mast and attachments. 24/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Because of this, there is a constant airflow through the breather. There are several benefits for this system: • Removes the large dust particles and debris, protecting the hydraulic components from damage • Provides further protection from costly repairs Option: A dust-proof hydraulic tank breather is available as part of the foundry/brick protection package. Mast and Carriage Excellent Visibility and Rigidity The GC35K-GC70K masts incorporate modern engineering design and test practices to deliver a combination of combination of excellent visibility and rigidity. The smart mast design gives operators better visibility, raises productivity and reduces product damage. The narrow and deep mast channels features are: - Narrower flanges take up less space - Webs are deeper providing more strength - Larger rollers increase load-carrying capacity Strategic cylinder, hose and chain locations - Chains & hoses are at 45° to the channel - Smaller diameter lift cylinders increase view area Carriage design - Designed to increase visibility with fork bars are square instead of rectangular - More space in-between fork bars Lift Cylinders For reliability, each lift cylinder has an internal drain that permits a controlled amount of hydraulic oil to flow above the piston and thus prevents corrosion of the cylinder rod. An internal drain cylinder maintains a small diameter for good visibility and eliminates the chance of oil leaks associated with an external drain line. For further enhanced reliability, great care has been taken in the design of the mast and carriage to ensure proper alignment and distribution of operating forces. 25/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION • The tilt cylinder rod ends mount to the mast using spherical bushings thereby preventing misalignment of the tilt cylinders. • If a cylinder is not properly aligned it will eventually leak and possibly fail • Six load rollers support the forwards and backwards loading of the carriage • Specially shaped channels allow for two-point load roller contact even though the rollers are not canted. The two-point contact enables the rollers to handle side thrust forces between the mast channels. • Two side thrust rollers to help maintain its alignment in the mast Options: Mast-mounted lifting eyes and tilt cylinder boot kit are available as options. Mast interchangeability Interchangeability of Masts The masts of the GC35K-GC70K series are not fully interchangeable with the masts of the previous generation. Service Engineering is the best resource to determine the interchangeability of a particular mast with a particular chassis. Easy maintenance Easy Maintenance features Easy maintenance is facilitated with a removable floorplate that does not rquire tools to be removed. Fuse & relay holders are easily accessible under the engine cover. The operator seat is of the ‘Quick release forward’ type. The brake fluid reservoir is transparent for easy checking. Easy open engine cover With the quick release pin, move the seat forward to gain engine access Be sure to demonstrate that there is no need to swing the LPG tank to gain engine access. 26/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION This takes up less space in the maintenance area or aisles where operators are doing their daily checks. To ensure peak performance, maintenance on your lift truck is essential. Cat Lift Trucks are designed to be easily accessible. Service can be done quickly by either your dealer or your maintenance crew. Some benefits to keeping your truck up and running are: - Reduced risk of breakdown and subsequent problems - Fewer unforeseen expenses and inconvenience - Reduced cost of repairs over the lifetime of your lift truck Service Access and Diagnostics Daily Checks The engine cover opens wide and allows easy access to check fluid levels and to carry out visual inspections. Moving the Steering Column Forward Move the steering column forward by releasing the yellow lever on the left side of the steering column. Moving the Seat Move the seat to the forward-most position and fold the seat down by releasing the spring-loaded locking pin located near the left hip restraint. Raising the Engine Cover Raise the engine cover by pulling the latch located on the left side of the cover. A single gas assist spring permits the cover to be raised with minimal effort and keeps it in the fully open position. Brake Fluid and Engine Coolant Both the master brake cylinder and the coolant recovery reservoir are made of translucent molded plastic. Thus the brake fluid and engine coolant can be verified with a quick visual check. 27/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Fuses Computer connection with cable for error code readout Access to Fuses Easily accessible, automotive style fuses are used. Inside the fuse holder a tool can be found to replace fuses. Inside the fuse cover, an explanation is available that describes the function of the fuses. Computer and Cable Error codes can easily be read and corrected by means of a laptop and connection cable. Besides communicating with the ECM, the computer can also check the input and output sensors, as well as the instrument panel. This feature reduces downtime and allows pinpointing of faults quickly. This will prevent repairing trucks on a trial and error basis and thus replacing parts that are not failing. Service Requirements 500 hours service interval The 500 hour service interval required reduces lifetime costs and also downtime related to service. Oil changes, lubrication, and adjustments are not required as often as some of the competitors. A number of other specific improvements reduce maintenance and lifetime costs: • LED lights result in reduced maintenance • Brake and inching pedal are easier to adjust • Cooling fan driven directly from water pump instead of using a shaft • Chassis is heavier and more durable • Higher grease capacity at grease points 28/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Special Application versions Special applications Cat Lift Trucks offer GC40K – GC70 paper roll handling chassis and special option packages designed to meet the specific needs of the paper product industry. The National Fire Protection Association defines Type LPS as "trucks fueled with liquefied petroleum gas (LPS) provided with safeguards in addition to those required for Type LP." Underwriter's Laboratories tests products to internationally recognized safety standards to see if they are reasonably free from foreseeable risk of fire, electric shock or related hazards. The UL label appears on more than 6 billion new products each year. UL maintains the label's integrity by counterchecking manufacturers‘ facilities, production methods and products for continued compliance with safety requirements. Specification Changes The UL Safety-rated chassis includes a battery disconnect switch, an enclosed alternator and UL Type S labels. Each chassis is reviewed, approved and documented with UL for Type "S". Customer Application In those applications that require a UL Safety-rated chassis to satisfy the standards as set by the customer and/or the insurance underwriter. There is potential for a customer to reduce their insurance premium cost if their insurance underwriter recognizes the UL label. Notes Reference NFPA 505 for type of use definitions, but rely on your customer and/or their insurance underwriter for UL rating requirements. LPG-gas swing down bottle Swing Down LPG Tank Bracket This patented design is the only single motion, "swing-down" design on the market today. The bracket locks into place once it reaches the bottom of the arc to promote safe installation and removal of the LPG tank. The swing-down bracket ncreases the height of the LPG tank mounting, thereby reducing the rearward visibility slightly. This bracket significantly reduces the effort it 30/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION takes for an operator to change an LPG tank, especially frequent LPG tank changes or smaller persons making the changes will benefit. The swing down LPG bracket works with 33.5# and 43.5# LPG tanks. Load backrest extension Load Backrest Extension Provides a taller load backrest extension for taller loads and for use with the 48”, 54” and 60” wide carriage. Tilt cylincer boot kit Tilt Cylinder Boot Kit Tilt cylinder boots are available as an extra measure against contamination of the hydraulic system from dirt and other small particles. The "boots" cover the tilt cylinder rod when it is extended (tilting forward). The Tilt cylinder boot kit limits back tilt to 6 degrees maximum. Not for use on masts with back tilt great than 6°. The kit is highly recommended for dusty applications like foundries and brickyards. The benefits are cleaner hydraulic oil means the components within the system will last longer and operate more efficiently (pumps, valves, etc.). This, in turn, means less maintenance and better performance. Forks level option Forward Tilt Lockout (Forks Level) Forward tilt is restricted to mast vertical unless operator depresses override button mounted in tilt lever knob. Full forward tilt can be achieved with the button depressed. This option is recommended to reduce damage to clamp arm tip and paper roll. Customers are putting away loads in very high racks and/or with limited visibility. This option allows for confident load retrieval and put-away, where operator's visibility to the rack and load may be compromised. With this option load damage and rack damage can be reduced. Productivity can increase through more confident load handling. Foot Direction Control FDC Foot Direction Control Monitrol, Foot Directional Control Foot direction control changes the standard steer-column mounted directional control to the foot pedals. The foot direction control pedal replaces the accelerator pedal so that forward and reverse travel is controlled by the operators foot. Includes smart shift feature, which reduces the driveline components by eliminating high speed directional changes. The standard steercolumn mounted directional control lever is removed, and a foot directional control pedal replaces the accelerator pedal. This option is sometimes preferred in high cycle applications where productivity is key, but can also simply be a preference of the operator. Many operators find it easier and quicker to change directions using the foot direction control option. Foot Directional Control includes Smart Shift feature. Reverse drive package Reverse Drive Package Reverse Drive Package includes a swivel seat, reverse hand grip with horn button and an adjustable armrest. Made of comfortable plastic, the reverse grip provides quick and easy reach for operators who TC-TC-TC-travel in reverse frequently. 35/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Swivel seat provides 12° of swivel on the either side with a latch at the end of travel. Torso clearance is not reduced. Provides 12°of swivel for added comfort and ease to the operator. Head clearance remains the same since it was designed with a low profile mounting. The easily accessible horn button allows operators to alert others while travelling in reverse. Operators also have a comfortable handle to grab. Smart Shift option Smart Shift The Smart Shift option is also refered to as Shift Inhibitor. Smart Shift reduces damage to the driveline components by eliminating high speed directional changes. When attempted, the engine drops to idle rpm’s and the transmission will not shift direction until speed is reduced and the operator cycles the accelerator pedal. Smart Shift reduces damage to the driveline components by eliminating high speed directional changes. Dust protection package Dust and Foundry Protection Package Specifically designed for extremely dusty and dirty environments, this package includes high mounted pre-cleaner, magnetic drain plugs, a dust proof hydraulic pump seal, a dust-proof front axle breather and a brake booster filter. The oil level in the hydraulic tank is constantly changing with movement (lift and tilt) of the mast and attachments. Because of this, there is a constant airflow through the hydraulic breather. The front axle has an open connection with the ambient air. As front axle oil heats up and cools down, air has to be able to flow in and out of the axle housing. In dusty conditions, dust particles may enter the axle oil causing premature wear of components. The dust-proof axle breather is offered to prevent this from happening. The dual element air filter is a small filter that is fitted in the existing air filter. As a result the cleaner consists of two filters working in series. The air intake pre-cleaner consists of a dry cyclone cleaner that separates dust particles from the intake air. The pre-cleaner is fitted to the air intake of the overhead guard. The dust particles will be separated from the air by inertia of the large dust particles. Dust will be caught in the air bowl. The pre-cleaner is selfcleaning since dust particles will drop through the opening at the underside of the cleaner. Note that the optional pre-cleaner is fitted to the rear leg of the overhead guard and will slightly reduce rearward visibility. Dusty applications like foundries and brickyards where the air cleaner can become clogged frequently. Hot applications where the coolant level needs to be monitored closely. Any application where daily checks or maintenance is suspect and needed.. This option will reduce daily maintenance requirements for cleaning the air filter when working in dusty applications like foundries and brickyards. This package is not compatible with elevated exhaust. 36/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Torque converter line filter Torque Converter Line Filter The torque converter is located between the engine and the transmission and connects the engine flywheel to the transmission input shaft. This connection is actually a fluid connection. There is an optional filter that can be added to the torque converter line that filters the oil used in the torque converter. Applications with excessive dust, dirt and/or debris in the air (i.e., lint, paper fiber, cotton, drypowders, etc.). Cleaner oil means the components within the system will last longer and operate more efficiently. This, in turn, means less maintenance and better performance. Not for use with 5-way auxiliary hydraulics Cooling package High Pass Through Cooling Package Open core plate fin radiator provides more resistant to clogging than the standard staggered row plate fin radiator. Mounted on the louvered radiator cover, the repositioned transmission oil cooler reduce vacuum effect and eases the radiator cleaning. Paper, chemical and other industries where the application requires better heat transfer. Improved heat exchange without increasing the possibility of clogging. Carriage slider blocks Carriage Slider Blocks Carriage slide blocks replaces the side thrust rollers with slider blocks side-blocks. Carriage slide blocks are ecommended for use with large multifunction hydraulic attachments.Using slide blocks reduces carriage “racking” and high stress points on the mast. Included in the paper roll handling models. Applies only to the standard carriage. 37/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Low profile package Low Profile Package Low Profile Package includes vinyl static and 4” lower than the standard overhead guard aimed at reducing the guard height from floor to 83”. The full suspension vinyl seat is replaced by the static seat thus bringing the seat height lower which is essential when the lower overhead guard. The package reduces the guard height by about 3.5” Not for use with Reverse Drive Package or full-suspension seat. Reduces torso clearance by 3.5” Non-Marking Tires Non marking tires are offered in both lugged and smooth tread variations. Non-marking tires offer a solution to those customers concerned about leaving black skid marks on light floors. The nonmarking tire options come complete with an anti-static strap, which is required due to the compound used in non-marking tires. Dual drive (wide stance) Wide Stance Drive Wheels Wide stance drive wheels offers stability by widening the load distribution points (tires) when carrying heavier loads as heavy as this truck can carry at the mast height that this truck offers. When changing the truck specification from standard tread to wide stance drive wheels, the stability triangle is widened offering more stability to the truck. Wide stance drive wheels option includes fender extension with hardware and drive rims for field conversion when ordering non-installed option. Tires are not included when ordering non-installed wide stance drive wheels. Strobe light Amber Strobe Light - High Clearance Presence Warning An amber strobe light is mounted above the overhead guard andflashes whenever the key switch is turned on. The strobe light utilizes a flash tube for high-speed illumination and may increase awareness in certain applications or from a greater distance. The strobe is mounted in a highlyvisible location on top of the overhead guard. Truck height above the overhead guard increases by approximately 6 inch. Applications with low lighting, high ambient noise levels, pedestrian and/or vehicle traffic. Warns others of the presence of the truck and augments back-up alarm where ambient noise is high. Light may distract operator when looking up through the overhead guard. Warning light mounting plate may reduce visibility through overhead guard. 38/43 CEOC1430 PRODUCT PRESENTATION Seat belt safety features Seat Belt Ignition Interlock Engine will not run unless operator is in seat with seat belt fastened. Includes hour meter cutoff and park brake override that allows engine to run with operator off truck. Augments normal presence detection system (PDS) functionality as above. The seat belt interlock forces the seat belt to be used when operating properly.Less expensive seat belt monitoring is available with the orange seat belt option. Full Suspension Seat Cloth A cloth full-suspension seat replaces the standard vinyl full-suspension seat. The cloth seat is offered for those operators who prefer cloth over the standard vinyl full-suspension. The seat is beneficial for applications that experience frequent cracking of vinyl seats or other damage may benefit from less frequent replacement of the cloth seat. Orange Seat Belt The standard black seat belt is replaced with an orange seat belt. Applications where seat belt use is suspect and needs to be monitored easily. The orange seat belt provides an easy way for supervisors to visually confirm the seat belt is being used. For more comprehensive seat belt use monitoring, consider the seat belt ignition interlock option. With immediate effect, a number of optional features have now been incorporated in the standard configuration. LED Lighting Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting has now been introduced. The downtime and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) will be lower, since LED lights are practically maintenance free. The truck battery load is reduced because LED lighting is more efficient compared to conventional lights. • LED front work lights are fitted standard on all cushion tire trucks in this model range. • LED stop-, tail- and brake lights are standard on all cushion tire trucks in this range. Operator Comfort With operator comfort in mind following features are changed: • A full suspension seat is now standard on all models. • A rubber floor mat is standard, replacing the previous sandpaper mat. • A convenience tray is available as an option for 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 ton models. This tray, mounted on the engine cover, allows the operator to store personal items or small tools used during work. • A Clip-board holder is mounted as standard on the right front leg of the overhead guard for models with capacities 4 ton and up including the 7 ton model. Belly Plate The underbelly screen is now standard equipped on LPG engine powered cushion trucks in this range to even further reduce noise. Besides noise reduction, a cleaner engine compartment is another benefit. (The under-belly cover is not available on LPG trucks with 1.5 and 1.8 ton capacity or on electric trucks). Customer Specified Modification (CSM) • An armrest to support the operator’ arm is available as a CSM option. Note that this armrest on cushion trucks is in combination with MC control (FC is not available). • A swivel seat can also be delivered as CSM option.
