The integral AudioFile SC is the gateway to networking, processes and many future developments. New developments to the Logic 3 include twice the number of busses, channels and auxes plus joysticks and a surround monitoring system derived directly from the DFC.

These include the AudioFile editing controller, quality motorised faders and touch sensitive rotary controllers "Logicators". Every control is optimised for rapid post. There are no compromises.
The StarNetä network connects AMS Neve's editors and consoles for rapid project transfer and shared access to effects libraries. Literally 100s of projects and 1000s of effects can be kept available on-line on a central server, accessible in any studio at any time.
The mixing surface of the Logic 3SC is a carefully designed mixture of traditionally familiar controls and assignable functions. The Logic 3SC comes with up to 16 physical faders. Another 16 are permanently visible on the Logic 3SC's large flat TFT panel, this provides a potential 32 visible faders during all automation and mixing functions. Single key press actions are all that is required to bring any required channel on to the screen or on to a physical fader/channel.
Simultaneous multi-version mixes and stem mixing/monitoring system Based directly on design elements from the award winning DFC, this feature allows the creation of surround mixes and multiple versions simultaneously.

Advanced DSP Processes/Plug-ins DSP processes are a key feature of SC2.05. By investing in the SAM card hardware users will benefit from the following processes:

w 1 band DFC/Capricorn EQ w Super TimeFlex & Pitch Change:The TimeFlex/pitch shift process contains a new proprietary algorithm giving very high quality TimeFlex and pitch shift effects. This feature is provided for SAM spec systems in addition to the existing TimeFlex function.

Processes can be configured and saved as user definable "building blocks" and templates. All of the processes are integrated within the AudioFile. Adjustment of process parameters is possible from the Editor interface scrub wheel. The user can store presets for processes and also configure and store effects layouts which can be recalled at any time from the editor interface.
3rd Party Processes AMS Neve has been working with key manufacturers to develop 3rd party processes for the AudioFile SC. The open architecture of the editing system now makes it possible to obtain Synchro Arts VocALign® and CEDAR Audio auto declick, auto decrackle and dehiss processes for AudioFile. Logic 3SC Configurations The Logic 3SC is available as a complete system or as an upgrade to an existing system and is available in two 'off the shelf' configurations. Custom configurations remain available on request.
Logic 3SC LITE Logic 3SC LITE offers 24 tracks of AudioFile and mixing with a total availability of 92 inputs and 84 outputs. DFC style processing is included to support a typical desk set-up of 48 mono channels each with filters, 4-band EQ and dynamics, 4 mono and 4 stereo auxs, 16 mono groups and one main stereo output. 36GB of storage is supplied with the system. Also included in this configuration is a single port 9-pin machine controller and an 18" TFT panel screen. The control surface is 8 faders with joysticks and surround monitoring panel. All the EQs are full bandwidth 20Hz to 20kHz with various types including notch. The knobs are electronically 'geared' for coarse and fine control depending on the speed of movement.

Logic 3SC MAX Logic 3SC MAX raises the specification to 32 tracks of AudioFile with a total availability of 112 inputs and 96 outputs. DFC style processing is included to support a typical desk set-up of 64 mono channels each with dual filters, 4-band EQ and dynamics, 4 mono and 4 stereo auxes, 16 mono groups and one main stereo output. Storage is 36GB as on the LITE but the machine control has five ports. The fader count of the MAX goes up to 16. Logic 3SC MAX also includes a SAM card as standard and AMS Neve's own suite of DSP processes. There are two processing cards on the LITE system and three on the MAX. Both options include furniture making it possible to quickly build a stylish, minimalist room or update an existing one. All the noisy electronics are remotely rack mounted and connected by slim cables to the controls. Apart from the SC Studio Controller all the electronics for the Logic 3 and AudioFile, apart from IO, are housed in a single 13U combi-rack, IO is in a separate 6U rack.

Integrated Power Editing The AMS Neve Logic 3SC benefits from the power of the AudioFile SC high speed editing system.
Key Features of AudioFile SC
Reelock and Waveform Editing A combination of AudioFile's renowned 'Reelrock' audio scrub and new waveform displays enable editors to get the edit point right first time.
High speed editing AudioFile SC is a focussed post production editing tool. The system offers high speed operation, however large and complex the projects are. Systems are available with up to 32 tracks and can support projects with more than 20,000 events (edits).
Powerful undo and redo Multi-level undo and redo features encourage creativity and enable instant comparison of different versions of an edit. Users can display a detailed list of up to 64 previous edit operations and undo/redo single or multiple actions with a single keypress.
expandable to as many as 33 machines via ESBus. Advanced Cue Library with Unique Folder System AudioFile SC features an advanced cue library with unique cue folder system. This allows users to create folders to denote "categories" for audio cues. Cues in the cue library can be added to the appropriate user-defined folder according to their type. This allows quick and easy access to the desired cue during the track-lay process.
Tactile user interface The unique AudioFile edit controller is the ultimate interface for rapid editing. Dedicated keys, wheels and transport controls arranged around a no-flicker TFT screen allow the user to rapidly select and perfect individual edits. Advanced audio acquisition tools A range of automated tools are provided for speedy acquisition of audio, leaving more time for editing. These tools include threshold auto-recording, an ADR package for dialogue recording, on-board EDL auto-conform and direct OMF playback.

Easy project management
Whereas other editors set limits of around 3000 edits and 4GB disk addresses, AudioFile SC can handle projects containing up to 25,000 edits and 36G drives with ease. You can be confident that AudioFile SC will allow you to complete any project without any fuss.
Removable drives are supplied as standard for instant transfer of projects. Systems may be configured with over 450 hours (140GB) of on-line storage.
Integrated machine control Control of external machines such as VTRs and DAT recorders is fully integrated, enabling machines to be selected and controlled directly from the AudioFile controller without the hassle of external synchronisers. An advanced multi-machine control option enables up to 6 machines to be synchronised directly, and is

Media ToolBox - Centralised Offline Archiving
StarNet™ - Post Production Networking
Facilities using multiple Logic 3SC systems can maximise the use of their studios by utilising a central system for project archiving and format conversion. The AMS Neve Media ToolBox provides central facilities for off-line archiving and file translation. This frees up Logic 3SC audio post systems to work on other projects while archiving takes place, and provides centralised facilities for OMF import/export and WAV file translation. The Media ToolBox may optionally be supplied with multiple hard disk housings for rapid disk-to-disk copying and multiple Exabyte drives for high speed archive cloning.
StarNet™ is a dedicated networking solution for AMS Neve's digital products. The system provides a complete solution for storing and transferring audio projects in a multi-room facility. It has been developed in close liaison with the world's leading multi-studio facilities, the pioneers of efficient project workflow.

Q: What other features on the system are going to excite me question
A: The Logic 3SC provides supremely fast and intuitive audio mixing and editing at a professional level and price point perfect for promos, trailers, advertisements, TV drama, ADR and feature film pre-mixing. Sharing its ESP processing with the DFC; and by virtue of its mix compatibility, you can even take mixes to any Logic 1, 2, DFC and MMC mixing console used in the world’s premier facilities. No-compromise design throughout is key to the Logic 3SC e.g. menu free mixing including 64bit Neve EQ algorithms, dynamics processing (DRC) from the DFC, and 24 bit hard disk recording/editing on the world's fastest editor, Audiofile SC.
A: The mixing surface is extremely fast and intuitive to operate assisted by a single TFT screen and a menu free approach to getting around. Touch sensitive faders, and unique “Logicator” touch sensitive rotary controls are all fully automated and a powerful range of tools are provided for fast updating of recalling of mixes. Q: How is the Logic 3SC different to the existing Logic 3 console question
A: The L3SC goes much further than simply being fast to operate. The Stem Mixing system allows multiple versions (such as an LCRS, Stereo and M & Es) to be mixed on a single pass; this, along with the instant recall and powerful automation allows the operator to stay ahead of the changing and demanding requirements of your clients.
A: DFC style processing has allowed us to double the number of inputs, groups, and auxes (64, 16 and 8 respectively) and to provide full signal processing on every main channel, whilst the on board editor is the latest generation of AudioFile SC with up to 32 tracks, networking and support for DSP processes. Add to that a surround monitor panel (similar to the DFC) for Stem Mixing, and joysticks for up panning in any format up to 7.1 and you have a very powerful system.

Q: Can you tell me more about the DSP processesquestion A: AMS Neve has developed a family of DSP processes for AudioFile running on the SC platform. These processes cover many areas of our DSP know how including filtering, EQ, delays, time and pitch shifting and much more.
Q: Tell me about interconnectivity A:The key to this is the integral AudioFile. As well as OMF import, AudioFile SC V2 supports browsing through any Windows NT environment (excluding via the internet) and offers import and export of audio to and from WAV and AudioFile. DSP processes have been developed to support reading of AES31 and files created on ProTools as well as to access third party sound effects on servers such as Msoft.
