Background
The Solution
Organisation: Loreto College Coorparoo is an independent Catholic Secondary School for girls within the Archdiocese of Brisbane. Established in 1928, it is one of a network of more than 150 Mary Ward Schools around the world, seven of which are located throughout Australia.
In 2010, 2013 and 2014 D-Link products and services were again selected, this time to upgrade and enhance the Local Area Network, accommodate new buildings and provision refurbished teaching and learning areas. 2013 also saw Loreto assess the need for IP Surveillance and thus multiple, D-Link IP Cameras whilst 2014 saw Loreto Coorparoo install two DFL-1660 NetDefend Unified Threat Management (UTM) firewall devices to replace existing UTM devices.
Challenge: Loreto College Coorparoo’s Deputy Principal Curriculum ICT Linda Carstensen and IT Manager Gary Marsh had solid requirements for a robust, reliable and efficient network underpinned by prompt support that would result in a campuswide network at a reasonable cost. They also required a reliable and robust LAN, IP camera and UTM solution from a provider with a proven record and the very best in ongoing training and support.
Overview In June 2004, after a comprehensive assessment and evaluation process, D-Link products were chosen by Loreto College Coorparoo to provide a campus-wide local area network (LAN) solution. D-Link used its well-established and successful working business relationship with a local vendor and systems integrator that has a proven track record in the provision, installation, maintenance, training and support for network systems and services.
