User experiences User interfaces V-12 HEVC encoder for online video distribution Low Bit-rate Distribution of Ultra High Def Video We have developed software (SW) and hardware (HW) encoders that conform to the latest HEVC standard. (1) Our SW encoder is a SW library that can be used in developing application software such as encoders and transcoders. (2) Our HW encoder achieves real-time encoding on our design platform. They will be implemented on a single chip as an encoder LSI. (1) 4K HEVC Software Codec Video distribution IP network HEVC video encoder engine Input Storage MUX Audio encoder engine Video authoring Storage Features ■ The encoder engine achieves higher compression performance than MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, thus making it suitable for compression of high resolution video and for use in mobile video services. ■ It encodes software offline to achieve high visual quality, thus making it suitable for use in VOD services. ■ The hardware encoder has four low-delay HD encoders working in parallel, thus enabling 4K real-time encoding. It is applicable to live distribution of TV programs.
