P625X, UL-P625X REV. 10.31.13 (pg. 1/1) Description: Recessed backbox for use with 4" speaker and square, screw-mount grille in a ceiling or wall installation. Two sides have parallel slots (1” long) to adjust depth in areas where ceiling surface varies in material, depth or evenness. Slots may also be used to attach channel rails in suspended tile ceilings for weight distribution (order rails separately). Backbox is coated with a metal deadener to eliminate acoustic/mechanical resonance. Features: • 20-gauge steel • 6.25” square x 4” deep • Coated with metal deadener to eliminate acoustic and metallic resonance • Slots for depth adjustment on uneven surfaces • Four 1/2" – 3/4" compound knockouts for conduit • Corner mounting tabs with 8-32 U-clips for screw-mount grille installation • Black powder epoxy finish • Made in the U.S.A. with certified U.S. steel A & E Specifications The backbox for recessed installation of a 4" speaker shall be Lowell Model No. _________. It shall be formed from 20-gauge steel, welded and finished in black powder epoxy paint. It shall include mounting tabs with 8-32 Uclips for installation of a square, screw-mount grille (ordered separately). The backbox shall be undercoated with a metal deadener and have 1/2" - 3/4" knockouts for conduit on four sides, plus slots for depth adjustment on two sides. The backbox shall measure 6.25"Sq x 4"D.
