FIBRE AUDIO CABLE Toslink is a commonly used audio connection for high quality audio applications. It is an optical fibre connection system initially used by Toshiba.

The wide spread usage of this format is in consumer audio equipment, from sources such as CD, DVD players, DAT recorders, computers and video game consoles to AV receivers. A digital audio stream generated by the source equipment is transmitted via the Toslink before being decoded and output to a set of loud speakers. Mini-Toslink is another standardized optical fibre connection. It is smaller than the common standard square Toslink connector used in larger audio equipment. It is about the same size and shape as the 3.5mm stereo jack. A pair of adaptors, from standard square Toslink to Mini-Toslink, is supplied with these cables. There are two different convenient lengths of cable to choose from: TOSTOS is 2m long and TOSTOS5 is 5m long. They come in an overall light grey colour for easy identification and visibility.
