GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The LX-318C Cardiod is part of the LX Line Array Series and is the ideal solution for application in theatres, concert halls, stadiums, large discos, or any event where high precision Line Array is required. This sub-bass cabinet is the ideal combination where low frequency reinforcement is required for the LXV 12 . Ultra high power, Cardiod, sub-bass cabinet with three 18" low frequency neodymium transducers with carbon fiber reinforced, straight ribbed cones and Double Silicon Spider (DSS) technology delivering extremely low distortion. The transducer cones are weather protected for outdoor use and optimised air flow reduces heat dissipation increasing power handling and lowering the power compression figure. Voice coil technology employs 2 layers of copper clad aluminium wire wi th tripl e rol l, polycotton suspension. The system is powered with a total of 4200W of class D ampl ificati on with PFC (Power Factor Correcti on) and each cabi net has a DSP i ntegrated. Other features i ncl ude temperature sensor, fan speed control, inclinometer, Ethernet options and more. The LX-318C Cardiod cabinet is not a conventional cardiod but a ‘2 in 1’. Because of our sophisticated integrated processor the user can select between omnidirectional or cardiod coverage, activating the rear speaker aswell as selecting the rear frequency they most want to cancel , i ncreasi ng the front pressure and directivity and ensuring that rear sound does not spill on to the stage behind the sub-bass.

KEY FEATURES: - SELF POWERED: Tri-amplified Class D with switching power supply and PFC (Power Factor Correction). With PFC the power supply regulates itself when AC mains change, so the amp power output will not change with mains swinging. This system is also very environmentally friendly with a reduction of approximately 40% of current draw. Includes two 1400W p owe r mod ule s, one for e ach f ront 18” transducer and one 1400W for the rear transducer. The amplif ication far exceeds the transd ucers need s thus resulting in high output, high damping factor and extremely low levels of distortion. - DIGITAL PROCESSING & DOUBLE DYNAMICS: Latest generation 24bit/96Khz digital processor which optimizes the system components. It includes 2 channel processing electronics with functions for phase correction, driver protection, gain control, equalization and crossover, using double precision filters with 56bit internal processing. This enables a noticeable reduction in distortion with clean and clear equalization. The DSP incorporates sophisticated double protection limitation; RMS and Peak. The RMS limiter is used to ad just the transduce r re prod uction lev el, maintaining the original dynamics whilst at the same time respecting the original transients and achieving a better acoustical result. The Peak limiter controls the movement of the speaker, protecting it from any damage and also reducing distortion caused by over-excursion. These double dynamics lower levels of distortion and provide protection for all the speaker components and internal electronics. - TEMPERATURE & PROTECTION CONTROL: Via internal se nsors a micro controlle r analy ze s in re al time the temperature of each power module. It then automatically adjusts the fan speed to apply the correct temperature dissipation, reducing both the speed of the fan and the noise generated leaving the system as quiet as possible. - COMPONENTS: Transducers with neodymium magnet groups, 5.3” ISV (Interleaved Sandwich Voice Coil) with double copper clad aluminium wire to handle high power, Double Silicon Spider (DSS) technology to control moving mass with high linearity delivering extremely low distortion. Air flow optimization with cooling system, increasing the p owe r hand ling cap ab ility and lowe ring the p owe r compre ssion figure. These transd ucers g ive the be st possible results with today’s available materials in terms of clean and undistorted LF production at a ultra high SPL with the lowest possible power compression figure. Weather protected cones make the traducer far more resistant to the corrosive effects of salts and oxidization.
