Lighter blocks • Pile charcoal/briquettes in a pyramid shape. • Place 3-4 lighter blocks between the charcoal and light carefully with matches. • When the charcoal is burning, spread in an even layer on the grill surface. Never use your fingers, plastic implements or flammable objects to spread the charcoal. Always use grill implements. • Check that the grill grating is correctly placed and stable in the barbecue body. • Once the charcoal is lit and flames and smoke have subsided, spread the charcoal over the grating evenly. Use grill implements. • Add more charcoal if required. 2. Grill lighters • Place 3-4 lighter briquettes at the bottom of the cylinder. • Pour charcoal into the cylinder. • Light the briquettes from below. • Once the charcoal surface is grey, it is ready to be poured onto the grill charcoal grating. Information 1. Use max. 2 kg charcoal or 1.5 kg briquettes. 2. Small amounts of charcoal can be added to keep the grill hot for extended periods. 3. To prevent food burning on to the grating, we recommend brushing the grate with a thin layer of food oil able to tolerate high temperatures before starting to grill. 4. Allow a layer of white ash to cover the charcoal or briquettes before starting the grill. Instructions WARNING! This grill should be lit and warmed up for at least 30 minutes before starting to grill food. 1. Check that you have followed the assembly guide and that the grill is correctly assembled before use. 2. Stand the grill on a firm, level surface at a safe distance from flammable materials or objects. 3. Check that there is at least 1 metre distance from the grill to other objects, walls, garden furniture etc., when lighting and using it. Do not place the grill under a roof, canopy, parasol, pavilion or other flammable materials. 4. Only use charcoal or grill briquettes and light in a safe manner. 5. Never leave a grill in use unattended. 3. Electrical grill lighters • Apply a thin layer of charcoal or briquettes on the grating. Place the lighter on the charcoal/briquettes and check that the lighter’s handle is outside the grill. • Stack a new layer of charcoal or briquettes in a pyramid over the lighter. • Connect the lighter to the mains. • The charcoal will be lit after approx. 8 – 10 minutes. • Spread the charcoal/briquettes evenly over the grating. You can now begin to grill! WARNING! When grill is in use: Always wear gloves or use the appropriate tools to handle or move the grill. Do not start to use the grill until the flames have died down and the charcoal/briquettes glow without flames. Check that the grill and charcoal are completely extinguished before removing any remaining ash. This can take up to 48 hours. 11 UNDERHÅLL kMAINTENANCE 1. To make cleaning easier, you can line the inside of the grill with aluminum foil before putting in the charcoal and using the grill. Use the shiny side towards the charcoal. Remember to make openings for ventilation by making holes in the aluminum foil where necessary. 2. Charcoal comes in a range of sizes, or as compressed briquettes. Charcoal is best for food that needs to be grilled quickly, such as sausages and hamburgers. Briquettes are best for steaks, beef and meat, as they stay warm longer and burn longer. 3. Do not over-fill the grill body with charcoal, as that can cause the grill to become too hot to use. Heat can represent a risk for people and animals nearby. Do not use more than 2 kg of charcoal (1.5 kg briquettes) when grilling with this grill 4. If flames appear from the charcoal during grilling caused by of fat dripping, we recommend using a spray bottle to carefully spray water onto the charcoal. 5. When you have finished grilling, do not pour large amounts of COLD water on the grill to avoid damaging the enamel. Use sand or spray on small amounts of water over an extended period. 6. Empty the ash pan when the grill is cold. Check that the ash does not contain any glowing embers before dumping it in a safe, inflammable place. 7. Cleaning: Clean the grate in hot soapy water as soon as possible after use. Dry the grate thoroughly and store in a dry place when not in use. 8. When storing the grill outdoors, it should be covered with a grill cover. Alternatively, it can be kept indoors or in a garage. WARNING! Check that all charcoal is extinguished and there is no charcoal left in the grill before the cover is put in place or the grill is stored. FOOD HYGIENE MATHYGIEN 1. Thaw frozen meat, fish or poultry in the fridge before grilling. Keep raw meat, fish and poultry well separated from grilled meat. 2. Check that your grill is well cleaned before lighting it again and when grilling new meat. 3. Always wash your hands after handling raw meat and before handling grilled meat. 4. Always clean surfaces that have been in contact with raw meat with hot water and detergent. 5. When grilling meat, fish and poultry, check that the grill is hot enough before putting the meat on. 6. Place the biggest and thickest cuts farthest away from the hottest areas of the grill, so that they can be grilled right through without getting burned on the outside. 7. Use different implements for handling raw and grilled meat. Clean them thoroughly each time you use them. 8. Stick a grill spit or fork into meat – especially poultry – to check that it is cooked all the way through. The juice that oozes out should be clear. Check that the meat is well cooked. 12 SPARE PARTS, CONSUMER CONTACT AND WARRANT CLAIMS This grill is covered by a warranty according to Swedish consumer law.
