Selective Mute – Only radio signals specifically directed to the user or the channel’s defined talk group are heard on the speaker. Normal Mute – Only radio signals from the users own network are heard on the speaker. Monitor – All P25 digital radio signals on the channel are heard. Keypad Lock – All keys except PTT, or any function assigned as Alarm, are disabled. Press the OK key for 2 seconds to unlock all keys. Talk Around enabled. Emergency Mode – Blinking icon indicates that an emergency has been declared. Individual Addressing Mode – Indicates the radio is transmitting to an individual address instead of a talkgroup. Trunking Mode – Indicates a trunking system has been selected. Connecting Icon – Indicates a text message is being sent and the connection is in progress. M3300 Icons Indicates one or more stored messages. Flashing - message is unread. Steady - read message. Indicates that a signal is present and audio can be heard from the speaker. Indicates that a signal is present and the radio is unmuted. Rotating arrow indicates radio is in Scan Mode. This icon disappears when the radio locks on a channel. Transmit Indicator. Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI). A stronger signal is indicated by more bars (6 max). This button is programmable for a special operation (F5). Default – Emergency. Keypad shortcuts can be used to change modes from the keypad. 2. The display illuminates and shows a welcome message and the Selcall Identity of the mobile radio. 2. Scroll through menu until Contrast is displayed and press OK.  Analog Conventional (*61#) 3. After a brief time, the display reverts to the default screen display, at which time the portable radio is ready for use. 3. Press the up or down arrow until the desired level is displayed. Upon receiving a call alert, the receiving radio will display page:radioid. The individual call icon is displayed and the radio sounds a ring until the no activity timeout expires. After this time, a short missed page tone sounds every 10 seconds. Transmitting an Individual Call 4. Press OK to return to main screen or press “Back” to return to the next highest menu level. 1. Press the “Menu” button to enter the menu and scroll through the menu until PhoneBook is displayed and press “OK”. Volume Control The Volume Control adjusts the speech level at the loudspeaker or handset. Rotating clockwise increases the volume and counter-clockwise decreases the volume. Using the Keypad for Alphanumeric Text 1. Press the appropriate keypad button a number of times until the desired character or number is selected. Indicator LEDs Green LED when receiving a signal. 3. Use */# to select lower/upper case letters respectively. 4. Use the 0 key to insert a space. Red LED when the radio is transmitting. 5. Use the Left/Right Arrow buttons to move to the next or previous character space. 2. When receiving, the transmitting party ID will be displayed over the system text area on the display. 6. All parties belonging to the group can hear each other and transmit to each other. 1. Press the PTT to send a group voice call on the selected channel. Shortly after pressing PTT, a Grant Tone indicates that the user may talk. The receive and transmit TGID and NAC codes are determined by the channel properties. 2. The keypad lock function must be enabled by the FPP during configuration. If this function is activated, a key icon is displayed in the bottom right-hand side of the display when locked. The PTT, Alarm Key (if assigned), & Reset Key (if assigned) are not locked. To unlock the keypad, press and hold down the “OK” key for 2 seconds. After 2 seconds, the key icon disappears and the keys are enabled. The keypad automatically re-locks after a period of 10 seconds following no key activity. Change Operating Mode The Mode menu option allows the user to change radio modes (P25 conventional, Analog Conventional). To change operating mode: 1. Select the Mode menu item and press OK. 2. Scroll through the menu until desired mode is displayed and press OK. 3. The operating mode is changed and the radio returns to the main screen. 3. Press the PTT button to place an Individual Call to the displayed user ID. The Individual Call icon is displayed. Receiving an Individual Call When an Individual Call is received, the radio sounds two beeps every few seconds (time configured via FPP). Press the PTT button to answer. If the receiving party responds with a PTT, the response is transmitted with the destination ID set to that of the Calling Party. When the call is finished, wait for the inactivity timeout to expire or hang up the microphone. Sending a Call Alert 1. Press the “Menu” button to enter the menu and press + or – until PhoneBook is displayed and press “OK”. 2. Select the desired ID. If the party to be paged with Call Alert is not in the Phonebook, select the Phonebook from the menu and key in the identity of the radio to be paged and press “OK”. Declaring an Emergency Press and hold the orange emergency button for a few seconds (length of time determined by radio programming). While in emergency mode, the transmitting radio will indicate the emergency mode with the emergency icon will be displayed by the transmitting radio. . “TXEm” The radio may be programmed to transmit live microphone audio for X seconds, return to receive for X seconds and repeat the cycle again until the radio is power cycled. Length of X seconds is configured via the FPP. To cancel the emergency, power the radio off and back on. Receiving an Emergency Radios receiving the emergency transmission sound a short beep at the start of each received call with emergency status. The radio displays the text message “Rx Em: LID of declaring radio” during the declaring radio’s transmit cycle and “REm: # of grp in Em” when idle over the System text. 3. Press OK to send the Call Alert to displayed ID. The display will show TXPage: P or TXPge: F. P = Pass (unit was successfully paged) and F = Fail (unit was not contacted).
