Mac Production Truck 1-2 Camera Setup with UltraStudio Mini (For cameras with HDMI or SDI outputs) The Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini SDI/HDMI in to thunderbolt out recorder is another video device option which allows for a 1-2 camera setup, depending on the laptop used to stream. Laptops with (2) thunderbolt ports will be able to add (2) cameras. Laptops with (1) thunderbolt port will be able to add a single camera. Equipment necessary for a 1-2 camera UltraStudio setup includes: Camera(s) with an HDMI or SDI out port & tripod(s) HDMI output SDI output EQUIPMENT (CONTINUED) HDMI or SDI cable(s) Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini SDI/HDMI in to thunderbolt out recorder(s) Thunderbolt cord(s) *** Note: computers with 2 thunderbolt ports will require (2) of everything previously mentioned.***” SET UP Start the equipment set up by plugging the one end of the HDMI or SDI cable into the HDMI or SDI out port on the camera… HDMI cable SDI cable …And the other end into the HDMI or SDI port on the Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini. SET UP (CONTINUED) Next, connect one end of the thunderbolt cable into the UltraStudio Mini… HDMI SDI …And the other end into the thunderbolt port on the computer. Once all the cameras are set up, open the software, right click on the ‘camera A’ preview box and select UltraStudio Mini. The preview will now show the video projected from the first. ****REPEAT THESE STEPS IF YOUR MACHINE HAS A 2ND THUNDERBOLT PORT AND YOU WISH TO ADD A 2ND CAMERA. PLEASE NOTE: For video, you will need to select your device and type of input from System Preferences on your machine Find the System Preferences icon at the bottom of your screen Then locate “Blackmagic Design” in the menu Once selected, you can select the proper “Set input.” This is determined by what input you are plugged in to on the Blackmagic Device and then close If needed, these can be changed via the drop down menu. The options available will depend on the device.
