General MAGIC Compact i2-7kHz incorporates an 7-kHz audio codec for bi-directional communication. The 7-kHz coding algorithm supports only a small delay less than 10 ms. Furthermore only one B channel or one 64-kbit/s channel will be occupied by the 7-kHz coded signal. In addition to the audio signal also a data signal can be transmitted according to the J.52 standard. MAGIC Compact i2-7kHz incorporates the new audio transmission standard which allows communication to the famous PKI 7-kHz ISDN Telephone delivered also by AVT.

After the connection to the partner system is established MAGIC Compact i2-7kHz detects automatically the coding capability of the other system. Is the 7-kHz coding standard available both systems will automatic run in the 7-kHz mode. If not the system will use 3.1-kHz coding.
• Three keys for fast and simple dialling
For quick reporting the telephone handset can be used. Via the analogue audio interface a external source such as a microphone with pre-amplifier or an echo canceller for room systems can be connected.

For the connection of the MAGIC Compact i2 units to the ISDN network ISDN Modules with 2 x So have to be used.
For experienced users a control software is available which opens access to all possible MAGIC Compact i2-7-kHz features such as Remote Control, Software Download, Control of external equipment and so on.
• E1, T1, X.21 Module For 2-Mbit/s, T1 and X.21 network connections a E1/ T1, X.21 Module has to be used. This can be used for audio transmission via 2-Mbit/s and T1 telecom networks and via copper wires. Using copper wires a distance of 2 km can be briged.
• Distribution Software Using the distribution mode of the unit an audio signal can be transmitted to 4 different locations at the same time.
• Telephone handset A Telephone handset can be connected for transmitting audio signals in a quick and simple way.
