The procedure for the shutdown is as follows: - Press the [ON/OFF] button until you hear a sound. - Confirm that the ON/OFF lamp is out. - Turn the power OFF with the main power switch. Be sure to install the equipment near an electric outlet so that it is easily accessible. * For Japan, remove the ground wire after the power cable is unplugged. UNPACKING AND SETUP FOR FINISHER MJ-1106 Sub Menu This section describes the unpacking and set-up instructions for the MJ-1106 Finisher after the KN-4530 Finisher Bridge Kit is installed. Insert the spread cardboard into the folded points all the way in. * Be sure that the cardboard is inserted in the correct direction. © TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION 2011 All Rights Reserved. 10 II. FINISHER MJ-1106 UNPACKING (2) Sub Menu Remove the plastic bag from the Finisher. Peel off the adhesive tape. FINISHER MJ-1106 UNPACKING (2) Sub Menu Open the front cover of the Finisher. Cut out the binding band fixing the stapler. FINISHER MJ-1106 UNPACKING (2) Sub Menu Remove the 2 screws.Remove the front bracket on the saddle stitch paper feed side. FINISHER MJ-1106 UNPACKING (2) Sub Menu Peel off the adhesive tape and remove the packing material from the Saddle Stitch Unit. Remove the screw on the top of the Saddle Stitch Unit holder. FINISHER MJ-1106 UNPACKING (2) Sub Menu Cut out the binding band for the releasing lever on the front side of the additional folding unit. Open the additional folding unit while holding the right and left knobs. FINISHER MJ-1106 UNPACKING (2) Sub Menu Close the additional folding unit. Peel off the adhesive tape. FINISHER MJ-1106 UNPACKING (2) Sub Menu Open the jam access guide of the Saddle Stitch Unit. Remove the 2 pieces of packing material. FINISHER MJ-1106 UNPACKING (2) Sub Menu Remove the 2 temporary fixing screws for the casters on the front paper feed side of the Finisher. FINISHER MJ-1106 UNPACKING (2) Sub Menu Close the front cover. Remove the screw. FINISHER MJ-1106 UNPACKING (2) Sub Menu Remove the 2 screws temporarily tightened on the casters. FINISHER MJ-1106 SETUP (1) Sub Menu Peel off the 7 blind seals on the paper exit side of the e-STUDIO. Secure the bridge unit bracket to the left top cover and the Bridge Unit with the 4 screws. FINISHER MJ-1106 SETUP (1) Sub Menu Temporarily tighten the shoulder screw into the lower screw hole on the rear side of the left cover on the paper exit side of the e-STUDIO. Secure the finisher connecting bracket (rear) so that it fits into the groove of the screw. Temporarily tighten the shoulder screw into the upper screw hole, tilting the finisher connecting bracket toward the rear. © TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION 2011 All Rights Reserved. 24 II. UNPACKING & SET-UP II-9. FINISHER MJ-1106 SETUP (1) Sub Menu Stand the finisher connecting bracket straight. Tighten the 2 shoulder screws. Temporarily tighten the shoulder screw into the lower screw hole on the front side of the left cover on the paper exit side of the e-STUDIO. FINISHER MJ-1106 SETUP (1) Sub Menu Temporarily tighten the shoulder screw into the upper screw hole, tilting the finisher connecting bracket toward the front. Stand the finisher connecting bracket straight. Tighten the 2 shoulder screws. Remove the 2 screws. Take off the rear cover-1. © TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION 2011 All Rights Reserved. 26 II. UNPACKING & SET-UP II-9. FINISHER MJ-1106 SETUP (1) Sub Menu Loosen the screw. Remove the cover plate. Release the harness from the harness clamp. UNPACKING & SET-UP II-9. FINISHER MJ-1106 SETUP (1) Sub Menu Secure the cover plate. Tighten the screw. Secure the rear cover-1 with the 2 screws. Before the movable tray is installed in the e-STUDIO, make sure that its frame is in a position lower than that of the grounding plate. Insert a Phillips-head screwdriver into the hole B while holding the movable tray by hand. Keep the screwdriver inserted all the way in. Move the movable tray frame to a position lower than the grounding plate while holding the tray by hand. Remove the screwdriver. © TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION 2011 All Rights Reserved. 30 II. FINISHER MJ-1106 SETUP (1) Sub Menu Connect the saddle stitch tray sensor with the link. Install the saddle stitch tray with the 2 screws. FINISHER MJ-1106 SETUP (1) Sub Menu Check that the leveling arm lever is moved back and forth smoothly. FINISHER MJ-1106 SETUP (1) Sub Menu Move the Finisher closer to the e-STUDIO until the guide pin of the finisher connecting bracket of the e-STUDIO and the positioning hole of the Finisher are aligned. Move the Finisher closer to the e-STUDIO carefully and make sure that the phases of the guide pin and the positioning hole are the same. FINISHER MJ-1106 GAP ADJUSTMENT Sub Menu Make sure that the gap between the Finisher and the e-STUDIO front side is in the range of 0 to 10 mm. 10mm 0~10mm If the gap exceeds 10 mm, adjust it. © TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION 2011 All Rights Reserved. 38 II. Loosen the 2 screws on the paper exit front side of the Finisher. © TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION 2011 All Rights Reserved. 39 II. UNPACKING & SET-UP II-9. FINISHER MJ-1106 GAP ADJUSTMENT Sub Menu Turn the gap adjustment screw on the paper exit front side until the gap becomes 10 mm or less. Reference: Turning clockwise: Gap becomes narrower Turning counterclockwise: Gap becomes wider Tighten the 2 screws on the paper exit front side of the Finisher. © TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION 2011 All Rights Reserved. 40 II. UNPACKING & SET-UP II-9. FINISHER MJ-1106 GAP ADJUSTMENT Sub Menu Loosen the 2 screws on the paper exit rear side of the Finisher. Turn the gap adjustment screw on the paper exit rear side until the scale mark on the rear side becomes the same as that on the front side. © TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION 2011 All Rights Reserved. 41 II. UNPACKING & SET-UP II-9. FINISHER MJ-1106 GAP ADJUSTMENT Sub Menu Tighten the 2 screws on the paper exit rear side of the Finisher. FINISHER MJ-1106 HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT OF FALL PREVENTION DEVICE Sub Menu Open the front cover. Pull out the Saddle Stitch Unit. Make sure that the fall prevention device is separated from the floor by keeping a clearance of between 3 mm and 10 mm. 3mm~10mm If the fall prevention device contacts with the floor or the clearance exceeds 10 mm, perform height adjustment of the device. © TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION 2011 All Rights Reserved. 43 II. FINISHER MJ-1106 SETUP (2) Sub Menu Cut out the 2 blind sections from the rear cover-2. Connect the interface cable from the Finisher. Install the connector cover supplied as an accessory. Insert the harness band from the lower hole through the upper one of the connector cover so that a loop is formed.
