Horner APG’s FIP Interface Module Product Specifications and Installation Data 1
DESCRIPTION
The Horner APG FIP Interface Module (HE693FIP100) allows the PLC to directly reside on the FIP network. The FIP100 requires a single PLC slot. Connections to the FIP network are made to a DE-9 connector on the front of the module. This module was developed with future expansion in mind. For future use, an RS-232 and RS-485 port are present on the front of the module with LEDs indicating port activity. At this time, the module must be configured using the PLC Hand Held Programmer. The PLC's standard personal computer configuration program will be updated to support this module in 1995. Up to 199 words of data are shared with the PLC; 0-99 words in (%R), 0-99 words out (%R), and 1 status word (%I).

CONFIGURATION
The module must be configured with the PLC Hand Held Programmer before proper operation may begin. The following parameters must be set: Number and location of Input Words (%RI), Number and location of Output Words (%RQ), Location of Status Word (%I), and the FIP Subscriber Address. Below is an example of the keystrokes necessary to configure a FIP interface module with 16 status bits (at %I1-16), 50 input words (at %R1-50), 10 output words (at %R51-60), and a Subscriber Address of 15.
