Your vacuum cleaner can easily be configured into two different cleaning modes: • Upright vacuum cleaner A for floors and carpets. • Handheld vacuum cleaner fi B which can be carried with you whilst cleaning hard to reach places. When attaching the motorised floor brush, ensure that the latching mechanism is fully locked in place to ensure electrical connection is made. B A 6 UPRIGHT VACUUMING Assembly 1 Assemble the charging cradle base Í onto the charging cradle Ê. Securely click it into place C. With the handheld vacuum cleaner in place on the main vacuum cleaner body ›, insert the vacuum cleaner into the charging cradle, ensuring that the lip on the rear of the main vacuum cleaner body › hooks onto the notch on the concave section of the charging cradle. E E1 E3 E2 E4 Charging 2 Insert the charging adaptor jack plug  into the socket on the charging cradle base Í D. D 3 Place the assembled charging cradle Ê on a flat, stable surface. 4 Swing the upright handle ⁄ on the main vacuum cleaner upwards until it clicks into place in an upright position E1. 5 Place the motorised floor brush È on a level surface and align the connector on the neck of the motorised floor brush with the connector hole on the base of the main vacuum cleaner body. After connecting the charging adaptor jack plug  into the charging cradle Ê, plug the charging adaptor Ó into the mains supply. If the vacuum cleaner is not located on to the charging cradle Ê, the light on the charging adaptor will glow green. Locate the vacuum cleaner on to the charging cradle. If the light on the charging adaptor turns red, the battery requires charging. When the light turns green, the battery is charged, this will normally take 6-8 hours, but when the battery is fully drained, a full charge may take 12 hours. When fully charged, the battery will stay charged for many days, however, we recommend leaving the cleaner continuously on trickle charge so the batteries are always full. IMPORTANT: If the charger is switched off for an extended period, the jack plug must be unplugged from the charging cradle. For details of other Morphy Richards products, please see our website: 3 VC70485MUK Rev2_Instruction Booklet 28/07/2011 16:10 Page 4 Using in upright mode 1 Lift the assembled upright vacuum cleaner off the charging cradle Ê. 2 Turn the product On by using either the upright On/Off button ¤ or the handheld vacuum cleaner On/Off button ·.
