Getting to know your ezReadPro

NOTE: Before using your ezReadPro digital magnifier, the internal battery must be charged for 5-6 hours. Please refer to Part II for information on how to charge the battery.

Part I. Setting up your ezReadPro 1. Insert the small end of the power adaptor into the black end of the Yshaped power/video cable attached to the Receiver.

Insert the yellow RCA plug on the video cable into one of your television’s yellow video input connectors. Refer to your television owner’s manual for more information locating these connectors.

Plug the power adaptor into a wall socket. The power indicator on the Receiver will then be lit. Turn on the television.

Select the appropriate PAL or NTSC TV mode by pressing the N/P button. The upper position means PAL and the lower position means NTSC.

Make sure that the Magnifier and Receiver channels are the same.

Turn on the Magnifier by pressing the ON/OFF button to its lower position.

To operate, place the ezReadPro onto the viewing object. The magnified image will appear wirelessly on your TV or computer screen. If the battery is low, the battery symbol will flash and the magnifier will not work normally. You will need to recharge the battery.

Step 1 – Install the software 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Insert the software CD into the CD-ROM Drive Click Setup-USB Magnifier.exe The Install Shield Wizard will walk you through the whole process. Click Finish when the installation is complete. A “USB Magnifier” icon will be generated on your desktop. Restart your computer when asked.
After connecting the USB converter properly, double click the “USB Magnifier” icon on your desktop and then the preview window will open. You can now use your magnifier on your PC just as you would on your TV. Note: The ezReadPro is not compatible with Mac computers.

Connect the RCA plug on the USB converter cable with the yellow end of the magnifier cable. Connect the black “power out” end on the USB converter cable with the black “power in” end on the magnifier cable. Now the power supply to the magnifier will come from the USB port of your PC. Plug the USB Converter into your computer USB port directly. Double click “USB Magnifier” icon on your desktop.

Part III. How to Charge the ezReadPro

The charge indicator on the magnifier will be red. It will take 5-6 hours to charge When fully charged, the indicator will turn green.
Connect the Receiver as shown in Step 1 of Part 1. Switch off the magnifier by pressing the ON/OFF button to the OFF (up) position.
Put the magnifier onto the Receiver. Please make sure that the two pairs of metal connecting points are touching.

“+” Button: Increases magnification. “M” Button: Switches reading mode between Full color, Black and White, Black on White and White on Black “-“ Button: Decreases magnification. “F” Button: Freezes and Unfreezes images.
The ezReadPro is not waterproof, so keep it dry. Do not use the unit under 23°F (-5°C) or over 122°F (50°C). The white LEDs, which illuminate the ezReadPro target field, are very bright. Do not stare directly into these LEDs as this may damage your eyes. Use only the power adapter that came with the ezReadPro. Other adapters may damage the unit. Do not attempt to disassemble the unit or repair it yourself. This will exclude it from warranty conditions.
