FIXING THE WALL-PLATE TO THE WALL: DIAGRAM 1 Stud walls: Locate the studs in the wall using a commercially available stud finder. Confirm the presence of the studs by drilling a small diameter pilot hole. At the desired height drill a hole in each stud for the top of the Wall-Plate using a 5mm drill bit to a depth of 60mm ensuring the holes are level. Then, using the Wall-Plate, mark the lower holes and drill as above. Position the Wall-Plate and insert the Large Self-Tapping Screws (f) and Washers (j) into the drilled holes and secure the Wall-Plate to the wall (Diagram 1) ensuring the upper and lower raised sections of the Wall-Plate sit away from the wall (Diagram 3A). DIAGRAM 2A Brick and concrete walls: Using the Wall-Plate (a) mark 6 hole locations (3 each along the top and the bottom) spread evenly across the WallPlate from left to right for maximum strength. Ensure the holes are level. Using an appropriate size masonry bit drill holes to a depth of 60mm. NOTE: avoid drilling into the mortar between bricks. Place the Masonry Plugs (g) into the holes and gently tap them with a hammer until flush with the wall. Position the Wall-Plate and insert the Large Self-Tapping Screws (f) and Washers (j) into the plugs and secure the Wall-Plate to the wall ensuring the upper and lower raised sections of the Wall-Plate sit away from the wall (Diagram 3A). Steel Studs: Please purchase suitable steel stud fasteners from your local hardware store. DO NOT use the supplied Large Self-Tapping Screws in steel studs. DIAGRAM 2B 2. FITTING THE RAILS TO THE SCREEN: DIAGRAM 3A Using a blanket or towel to protect the front of the screen, place your Flat Panel TV face-down on the floor or a suitable table. On the rear of your TV, locate the screw holes used for attaching a wall bracket. Position the two Mounting Rails (b) over these holes vertically ensuring the hooks of the rails (with the square holes either side) are toward the top of the TV. If you wish to tilt the screen slightly attach the Tilt Brackets (c) to the outer sides of the Mounting Rails using the M6 x 50mm Coach Bolts (d) and Nyloc Nuts (e) using the square holes (Diagram 2A and 3B). Determine the correct size screw (k/l/m/n/o) to suit the screw holes in the screen. Insert the screws into the holes and turn gently to determine the depth of the screw hole (Diagram 2A). If the screw reaches the end of its travel but has not firmly secured the rail then remove the screw and use the supplied washers (i & j) to reduce how deep the screw travels inside the chassis of the TV. DIAGRAM 3B p NOTE: for screens with recessed mounting holes or curved back panels use the supplied plastic spacers (h) (Diagram 2B). Once you have confirmed a safe screw depth, secure the rails to the screen using a screwdriver. 3. ATTACHING THE TV TO THE WALL-PLATE: DIAGRAM 4 Safely lift the TV and hook the mounting rails onto the top edge of the WallPlate. Gently allow the screen to sit against the Wall-Plate (Diagram 3A or 3B). Insert the Locking Rod (p) between the wall and the lower raised edge of the Wall-Plate and then through the designated slots in the mounting rails (Diagram 4). For added security, you may wish to attach a padlock (not supplied) into the hole at the end of the locking rod. If you have any doubts regarding this installation consult a professional installer. 3/200 Turner Street Port Melbourne Victoria 3207 Australia Please dispose of this packaging in a responsible manner – recycle cardboard/plastic wherever possible.
