H W D Height (H) 850 Width (W) 600 Depth (D) 600 During cooking the storage drawer may become hot if the oven is on high for a long period of time, therefore flammable materials such as oven gloves, tea towels, plastic aprons etc. should not be stored in the drawer. Oven accessories such as baking sheets, will also become hot, therefore care should be taken when removing these items from the drawer whilst the oven is in use or still hot. The Oven Cavity Grill Element Oven Light Accessories Baking Tray Oven Shelf Oven Fan Dripping Pan electrolux 9 The Gas Burner Controls Control knobs on the front panel The knobs for using the gas hob of the cooker are found on the control panel. The regulation knobs could be turned in anti-clockwise direction until the small flame symbol, and vice-versa for the larger symbol. No gas supply Maximum gas supply Minimum gas supply To light a burner: 1. push the relevant control knob in completely and turn it anticlockwise to the maximum position ( ). 2. then, check the flame is regular and adjust it as required. If the burner does not ignite, turn the control knob to zero, and try again. If after a few attempts the burner does not ignite, check that the burner cap and crown are correctly positioned (see figure 2 - letter A and B). To interrupt the supply of gas, turn the knob in a clockwise direction to the position " ". Do not keep the control knob pressed for more than 15 seconds. If the burner does not light even after 15 seconds, release the control knob, turn it the "off" position and wait for at least one minute before trying to light the burner again. Fig. 1 A - Burner cap B Burner crown C - Ignition candle Fig. 2 10 electrolux When lighting the hob manually: Hold a flame near the burner. Never turn the control knob before approaching the burner with the flame. When switching on the mains, after installation or a power cut, it is quite normal for the spark generator to be activated automatically. If you use a saucepan which is smaller than the recommended size, the flame will spread beyond the bottom of the pan, causing the handle to overheat. As soon as a liquid starts boiling, turn down the flame so that it will barely keep the liquid simmering. Take care when frying food in hot oil or fat, as the overheated splashes could easily ignite. Leave the burners to cool before closing the cover. If the control knobs become difficult to turn, please contact your local Service Force Centre. To ensure maximum burner efficiency, you should only use pots and pans with a flat bottom fitting the size of the burner used (see table). Burner Large (rapid) Medium (semi-rapid) Small (Auxiliary) minimum diameter 180 mm. 120 mm. 80 mm. maximum diameter 260 mm. 220 mm. 160 mm. electrolux 11 Using the Hob Potte again. If the oven burner accidentally goes out, turn the gas oven knob to the "Off" position and wait at least one minute before trying to light the burner again. The gas oven and the electric grill cannot beused at the same time. The ignition of the gas oven burner prevents the electric grill control knob to operate. When cooking with the oven and with the grill, leave the lid open in order to avoid overheating. Oven safety device The gas oven features a thermocouple; if for any reason the flame should extinguish, the device will stop the gas flow. Cooking Chart Cooking times do not include pre-heating time. Hold a flame near the hole in the bottom of the oven cavity as shown in Fig. 8. At the same time press the gas oven control knob and turn it anti-clockwise until the maximum temperature ("240") is reached. It is possible to check the flame through the holes in the bottom of the oven. When the oven burner is lit, keep the gas oven control knob for approximately 10-15 seconds. Release the control knob and then gently close the oven door. To adjust the temperature, turn the knob to the required setting after a few minutes. If the oven burner accidentally goes out or does not light, turn the oven knob to " " and wait at least one minute before trying to light the burner again. 1. 2. 3. hole for manual ignition Fig. 8 4. 5. electrolux 17 Using the Fan Gas Oven Always cook with the oven door closed. When cooking with the fan gas oven, leave the lid open in order to avoid overheating. The air inside the oven is heated by the gas burner and the fan circulates hot air to maintain an even temperature inside the oven. The advantage of cooking with this function is energy saving through: Faster Preheating As the fan oven quickly reaches temperature, it is not usually necessary to preheat the oven although you may find that you need to allow an extra 57 minutes on cooking times. For recipes which require higher temperatures, best results are achieved if the oven is preheated first, e.g. bread, pastries, scones, souffles, etc. Lower Temperatures Fan oven cooking generally requires lower temperatures than conventional cooking.
Seu manual do usuário AEG-ELECTROLUX EKG6013X http://pt.yourpdfguides.com/dref/3901006
Follow the temperatures recommended in the cooking chart. Remember to reduce temperatures by about 20°C-25°C for your own recipes which use conventional cooking. Even Heating for Baking The fan oven has uniform heating on all shelf positions. This means that batches of the same food can be cooked in the oven at the same time. However, the bottom shelf may brown slightly quicker than the upper one. This is quite usual. There is no mixing of flavours between dishes. To use the Fan Gas Oven: 1. Light the oven gas burner as described in "Using the Gas Oven", steps 1 and 2. 2. Upon ignition, turn the "LightGrill & Fan" control knob to position . The oven fan will start as soon as the oven cavity reaches the required cooking temperature. 18 electrolux Cooking Chart pre-heating preCooking times do not include pre-heating time. Turn the "Light-Grill & Fan" clockwise control knob to position . 2. Adjust the grid and grill pan runner position to allow for different thicknesses of food. Position the food close to the top element for faster cooking and further away for more gentle cooking. Preheat the grill on a full setting for a few minutes before sealing steaks or toasting. · The grill control light will come on when the "Light-Grill & Fan" control knob is set. It will remain on until the correct temperature is reached. It will then cycle on and off to show that the temperature is being maintained. - underneath the grid when grilling meats. When toasting bread, we suggest that the top runner position is used with the grid in its 'high' position. The food should be turned over during cooking, as required. Cooking chart Cooking time depends on the thickness of the meat and not on its weight. Cooking times do not include preheating time. A short oven pre-heating pre-heating (about 10 minutes) pre-heating is necessary befor e any before cooking. Type of food Mins per side Hints and Tips Most foods should be placed on the grid in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air to lift the food out of the fats and juices. Food such as fish, liver and kidneys may be placed directly on the grill pan, if preferred. Food should be thoroughly dried before grilling to minimise splashing. Brush lean meats and fish lightly with a little oil or melted butter to keep them moist during cooking. Accompaniments such as tomatoes and mushrooms may be placed Bacon rashers 2-5 Chicken joints 15 - 20 Gammon rashers 5-8 Lamb chops 6 - 12 Pork chops 10 - 15 Sausages (turning as required) 10 - 12 Steaks (average thickness) Rare 3-6 Medium 6 - 10 Well done 8 - 12 Toast 1 - 11/2 OIL - Fig. 9 20 electrolux Hints and Tips for using the Gas burners Start your cooking with a big flame by turning the knob to the symbol . Then adjust the flame as necessary. The outside of the flame is much hotter than its inside (nucleus). Accordingly , the top of the flame should lick the bottom of the pan. Excessive flames mean a waste of gas. In contrast with electric grids, gas burners do not require flat-bottomed pans: the flames lick the bottom and spread the heat all over the surface. No special pans are required for gas burners. However, thinwalled pans transmit the heat to the food more quickly than thick-walled ones. Since heat doesn't spread evenly on the pan's bottom, the food may only be partially heated. Consequently it is advisable to stir the food many times. A thick pan bottom prevents partial overheating as it allows sufficient thermic compensation. Avoid very small pans. Wide and shallow pans are more suitable than narrow and deep ones as they allow a faster heating. Cooking is not quickened by placing narrow pans on wide burners. The result is just a waste of gas. For a proper usage, place small pans on small burners and large pans on large burners. Remember to cover pans to reduce gas consumption. electrolux 21 Hints and Tips for using the Oven Always cook with the oven door closed. Stand clear when opening the drop down oven door. Do not allow it to fall open - support the door using the door handle, until it is fully open. The oven has four shelf levels which are counted from the bottom of the oven as shown in Fig. 10. It is important that these shelves are correctly positioned as shown in the picture. Do not place cookware directly on the oven base. Attention! - Do not place objects on the oven base and do not cover any part of the oven with aluminium foil while cooking, as this could cause a heat buildup which would affect the baking results and damage the oven enamel. Always place pans, heatresisting pans and aluminium trays on the shelf which has been inserted in the shelf runners. Carefully supervise cooking with fat or oil, since these types of foodstuff can result in a fire, if overheated. For the same reason, be careful when placing or removing food in the oven, not to let any fat or oil fall on the oven base. If this happens, carefully clean the oven to avoid unpleasant smells or smoke. 4 3 2 1 Fig. 10 Be careful when you insert and extract the oven shelf, the dripping pan and the baking tray from the oven in order not to damage the enamelled surfaces of the oven cavity. 22 electrolux Condensation and Steam The oven is supplied with an exclusive system which produces a natural circulation of air and the constant recycling of steam.
Seu manual do usuário AEG-ELECTROLUX EKG6013X http://pt.yourpdfguides.com/dref/3901006
This system makes it possible to cook in a steamy environment and keep the dishes soft inside and crusty outside. Moreover, the cooking time and energy consumption are reduced to a minimum. During cooking steam may be produced which can be released when opening the oven door. This is absolutely normal. However, However, always stand back from from the oven when opening the oven door during cooking or at the end of it to allow any build up of steam or heat to release. When food is heated, it produces steam in the same way as a boiling kettle does. When steam comes in contact of the oven door glass, it will condense and produce water droplets. To reduce condensation, ensure the oven is well heated before placing food in the oven cavity. A short oven pre-heating (about 10 minutes) will then be necessary before any cooking. recommend We recommend you to wipe away condensation after each use of the appliance. Cookware · Use any oven proof cookware which will withstand temperatures of 230 °C. · Baking trays, oven dishes, etc. should not be placed directly against the grid covering the fan at the back of the oven, or placed on the oven base. · Do not use baking trays larger than 30 cm x 35 cm (12 in x 14 in) as they will restrict the circulation of heat and may affect performance. The effects of dishes on cooking results Dishes and tins vary in their thickness, conductivity, colour, etc. which affects the way they transmit heat to the food inside them. A Aluminium, earthenware, oven glassware and bright shiny utensils reduce cooking and base browning. B Enamelled cast iron, anodized aluminium, aluminium with non-stick interior and coloured exterior and dark, heavy utensils increase cooking and base browning. electrolux 23 Hints and Tips on cooking Fish and Meat You can place meat in oven proof dishes, or directly on the oven shelf. In this case, remember to place the drip tray in the first position from the bottom with some water in it. The dripping pan will avoid the falling of melted fat on the oven base. White meat, poultry and fish in general, need to be cooked at a medium temperature (between 150°C and 175°C). If you need to cook red meat (slightly browned on the outside and more gently cooked in the inside), a higher temperature (between 200°C and 230°C) for a short time is recommended. Hints and Tips on baking Cakes usually need to be cooked at a medium temperature (between 150°C and 200°C). A short oven pre-heating (about 10 minutes) is recommeded when cooking cakes or baking. Once the cooking has been started, keep the oven door closed during all the cooking time, and check the cooking results through the oven door glass. Hints and Tips on grilling If you need to grill meat or fish, place them directly on the shelf after spreading a little oil on them. In the grill function, heat comes only from the top element. Therefore, you need to adjust the cooking level depending on meat or fish's thickness. Always remember to place the dripping pan in the lower position with some water in it. 24 electrolux Maintenance and Cleaning Before Before any maintenance or cleaning can be carried out, you must DISCONNECT the from appliance from the electricity supply. supply.
