® Warranty The Metalsub torch warranty will start on the date of purchase. The warranty period is 24 months and will only count when the torch has been used in the way the manufacturer advises and has explained in the outlines. During this warranty period we will repair all problems that are caused by manufacture related mistakes. We will take no responsibility for damage that is done through misuse or normal wear and tear of the Metalsub dive light for whatever reason. There is no warranty on the o-rings. The warranty period of the battery pack (XRE500R) is 12 months from purchase date. Until 36 months from purchase we offer a fair settlement. We will give no warranty when any person has carried out any repair or rebuilding on our products by themselves! All goods being returned for warranty must be returned prepaid, sufficiently packed under the owners risk to your Metalsub dealer. Switching the light on and off - Read this manual carefully before using the dive light. On: Press the switch during 2 secons from the off position. The light will burn at 100% capacity. - Always carry a backup light in case of dangerous dives - Prior to air travel the battery pack (XRE500R) must be discharged entirely. Unscrew the lamp head from the housing (to prevent overheating if the lamp should be switched on by accidental impact or mishandling). (XRE500: remove the batteries. - To prevent loss always clip or tie the lamp to the B.C. with a Lanyard. - Always use the supplied charger MP400 (XRE500 Rechargeable). - Always charge the lamp in a dry and well ventilated place with an ambient temperature between 0 and 30°C and never by open fire (XRE500 Rechargeable). Off: Press the switch during 3 seconds. The light will blink several times and switches off afterwards. Signal- / Dim options Dim (50%) capacity: Press the switch from the on position 1 x fast (within 1 sec.) Dim (25%) capacity Press the switch from the dim position (dim 50%) 1 x fast (within 1 sec.) Flash: Press the switch from the dim position (dim 25%) 1 x fast (within 1 sec.) S.O.S: Press the switch from the flash position 1 x fast (within 1 sec.) The S.O.S. flash should only to be used in case of an emergency. From S.O.S. position to on (100%): Press the switch from the S.O.S. position 1 x fast (within 1 sec.) INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Charging the battery pack (XRE500R) Turn the screw on the back side of the lamp to the left. Securely insert the charger plug into the charging socket on the back of the dive light (see fig.) Then connect the charger to a 220 Volt mains. Before the first use, the battery pack inside the dive light must be charged completely. Please wait until the LED light on the back of the dive light starts flashing green before you disconnect the charger, this will extend the life span of the battery pack. The charger is suitable for mains between 100-240 Volts. The charger is fitted with a Delta-V charge controller, when the battery pack is full de charger will automatically switch over to trickle charging (LED burns green). When the battery pack is full first disconnect the power supply cord from the mains. After that disconnect the plug from the charging socket. Do not leave the dive light permanently (several days) on trickle charge. pressure switch Remarks: We advise to use the dive light only underwater. If the dive light should be used above water it is advisable to use only the dim positions. Check and rinse the O-ring and apply a thin coating of silicone grease before replacing the screw. - (Only XRE500R) When the batteries are almost empty the light will switch off automatically. Tthe batteries shoud be charged a.s.a.p.! Uncharged storage will cause deep discharge. In this case the batteries can’t be charged anymore! Warning: - When you don't use the light for a long time (more than 6 months) it should be fully charged. Always use the charger that is delivered with the dive light. The use of other chargers can damage the battery cells inside! Changing the batteries (XRE500Standard) Changing the rechargeable battery pack (XRE500R) - For changing the battery pack we recommend the light is hand in at an authorized Metalsub dealer. Turn the screw on the back side of the lamp to the left. Pull off the battery holder Take off the empty batteries from the holder and pull new batteries in the holder. The new batteries shoud be placed in the correct posistion in the holder. The polarity is indicated in the holder.. Warning: Only use LR06 - AA Alkaline batteries Warning: - (Only XRE500R) Never remove the battery pack yourself. Wrong battery cells in combination with the charger can cause fire and injuries. General: - After each dive, rinse the dive lamp under running water to remove all traces of sand and salt. - Avoid physical impact. - Avoid overheating and direct exposure to sunlight. Check and rinse the O-ring on the back side of the screw and grease it with silicone grease before replacing the screw.
