OG-Amp Instruction Manual Rev.1.00 Unpacking and precautions: You will find the OG-Amp, a power cord and this instruction Manual. Read this manual carefully, before you connect anything to you new amplifier! This amplifier is designed for: Mains voltage: Load impedance: 230V 50/60Hz 4 or 8 Ohms Ensure your local mains voltage and the impedance of your speakers match this. If your mains voltage is other than above, you can not operate the OG-Amp! If your speaker impedance is not 4 or 8 Ohms, you can operate the OG-Amp, but you will not get the maximum output power. Note: Your OG-Amp is a tube amplifier! That means, it works with very high voltages. Never open the case or try to go into it by using any kind of tool! Never use it without a good working ground connection! Never clean it or bring it in contact with water or any other conducting fluid! Never run your OG-Amp without any speaker-load! Set to work: Connect your 4 or 8 Ohms speaker to the output (see: rear side). Connect the mains cord to the mains input (see: rear side). Connect your guitar to the input (see: front side). Turn the mains power switch to ON position (see: front side). It takes a moment to the tubes become warmed up. You can see this at the level indicator tube (see: front side). The other tubes take any seconds longer to operate. Now you OG-Amp is ready to go. Use the gain control, to vary the input level. If you turn it clockwise, you can overdrive the pre-amplifier stage. This can be done without a big loudness, if the master volume(see: front side) is turned to a low level. If you turn the master volume clockwise, you can overdrive the power stage, what gives another kind of distortion. If you turn the gain control to a low level and the master to a high level, your sound will be more clean. Use the tone controls (see: front side) to what ever you want, to find your personally sound. Warnings and trouble shouting: As every tube amp, your OG-Amp produces a lot of heat. Note this, when you plug it into a rack. Best is, to place the OG-Amp into the upper position, to prevent any damage to devices above it. Your OG-Amp use two fans, that takes air from the sides and blow it out at the rear side. Ensure the air in- and outlets (see: rear side) are always uncovered and free from dust. In case of trouble: If the Light inside the Mains switch turns on, but your amp will not work: Check the anode fuse (see: rear side). If it is blown, replace it only by the original type (0.7A slow) ! If the Light inside the Mains switch stays off: First check your mains power. If it is ok, check the mains fuse (see: rear side). Replace it only with the original type (2A slow). Further actions shall be left to qualified service people! Ask you local Optogate dealer for assistance.
