March 2016 Tech Team Meeting Mimio Demo Tim Franke, Mimio sales rep, came on Monday (March 7) to demonstrate the features of the MimioTeach bar, as we continue to look for an alternative to eBeam. It can mount magnetically or by 3M Command strips to magnetic bars to be used on any surface (whiteboards, walls, etc.) It comes with the software, which does not require any fees to maintain or update the software. Teachers can use the lite version from home and install it on student devices, as long as devices are connected every 30 days. The software imports existing files, such as PowerPoint, Smart Notebooks, video files, etc. It also has preformatted lessons and lesson components to build your own. There is an option to connect mobile devices, up to three devices free for collaboration with students; there is a fee for the full version to add more devices. This allows the screen view to be pushed to the mobile devices. Tech support, online video tutorials, and webinars are available. Computer Request Form When requesting new devices/equipment (NOT for replacing through refresh), submit your request using this link . This form should be used if a teacher has a special funding source and wants to purchase additional devices beyond your school’s current inventory.
