Switch rated connectors for
Ports, Shipyards & Vessels
Marechal’s DECONTACTOR™ ideally suited Connect with confidence & disconnect with safety Thanks to its integral load-break isolating switch mechanism, the decontactor socket allows users to connect and disconnect electrical equipment safely up to 250 A: a release button cuts the power and de-energises the plug before it can be removed. Even in the event of a short-circuit, the decontactor guarantees user safety and eliminates any electrocution hazard.
Automatic watertight seal Our decontactors are automatically watertight (high pressure washing, temporary immersion) just by inserting the plug or by closing the socket lid when you remove the plug. There is no need to turn any sealing ring!
Robust and reliable The decontactor has silver-nickel butt contacts which guarantee superior electrical performance and environmentally sound (-40 °C to +60 °C) Its glass-fibre reinforced polyester or metal housings provide excellent resistance to shock (IK08 / IK09) UV and corrosion.
Endurance to over currents and 100% duty factor Decontactors can carry significant overloads: 2 to 8 times more than it’s required by the standard IEC 60309-1. It supports a voltage up to 1 000 V a.c. and up to 250 V d.c., permanent or alternating current without damages or overheating.
Marine certification of the DSN/DXN/SP/SPX ranges by Bureau Veritas is pending Marechal connectors are already used in marine applications for more than 20years, especially for navy and Oil&Gas projects.

ENSURE SAFETY FOR PERSONNEL ... Decontactors’ features ensure safety by preventing access to live parts, by providing superior electrical connections that do not deteriorate with wear or oxidisation and by allowing users to make and break connections safely - even in wet or during overload conditions.

... & SIMPLIFY MAINTENANCE Decontactors allow fans, pumps, heaters, cutting/welding tools and other equipment to be connected safely with plug and play simplicity. Fitters can easily replace or service visibly isolated equipment without needing an electrician on site. Equipment replacement times are significantly reduced, worker exposure to harsh environments is minimized and re-wiring errors are eliminated.

Focus on vessels, ports, marinas & shipyards DECONTACTORTM, a plug and socket technology that solves your connection problems on ports, shipyards and on board…. Its robust design guarantees durability and reliability. Its automatic watertight seal and load-break disconnection capability means safety for the workers.
Weather conditions and corrosive sea environment With so much water, salt and humidity, brass copper contacts suffer from oxidization and thus failure.
Decontactor advantage Our design uses silver-nickel butt contacts which resist to corrosion. The decontactor is automatically IP66/67 watertight, it resists water jetting and temporary immersion.
Crane connections Some process equipment such as a crane is moved from one ship to another.
Decontactor advantage The decontactor’s integral load-breaking capability simplifies connection and disconnection procedures, it can be easily operated by one single person, saving time and money.
Harsh environment on shipyards Salt corrosion, humidity, temperature change and mechanical shocks lead to bad connection and overheating, and ultimately failure.
Advantage of butt-contact technology Thanks to its butt contact technology and superior material, the decontactor resists shocks and corrosion. Power supply is always available when needed, even after years in use.

Durable equipment and cost saving Plugs and sockets often need to be replaced frequently due to conditions of use.
Decontactor advantage The decontactor’s robust casing, frictionless contact technology, provide excellent resistance to temperature changes (-40 °C to +60 °C) and shocks (IK08 / IK09) and corrosion. After a short period, you will see your maintenance expenses decrease!
Effortless operation To connect or disconnect a plug and socket with 250 A or more needs much physical effort, especially when corrosion and overheating has deformed the sleeves in the socket.
Advantage of butt-contact technology Marechal’s butt-contact technology is used on PF plugs and sockets (up to 600 A) and SP single pole connectors (up to 700 A and more). The technology and the superior materials used prevent heating and corrosion. Connection remains effortless even after years in use.
Public safety Sockets-outlets in public area can be misused and could lead to injuries for adults and children.
Decontactor advantage Access to the electrical contacts is protected by IP4X protection against foreign objects and hazardous parts. The socket-outlet contacts are kept clean and inaccessible even when the lid is opened.
Oil and gas In hazardous area atmospheres, the ATEX regulation dated 23rd March 1994 and 199/92/EC require certified equipments.
Advantage decontactor – ATEX DXN decontactor is EX approved for zone 1 and 2. In a compact design it guarantees 10 000 operations.
Note Cost Saver: An extra advantage is that DXN type ATEX plugs can fit into industrial DSN sockets negating the need to install the more expensive ATEX socket is the safe area workshop. Of course the industrial DSN plug cannot fit the ATEX socket.
