Project Background: Established 110 years ago by the Greene Sisters, Moreton Bay College provides a unique learning environment for young women. Students are challenged and inspired in a supportive learning environment which boasts some of the best academic, cultural and sporting facilities in Queensland. Moreton Bay College’s state of the art facilities and mix of traditional and contemporary values is why it’s consistently rated one of Brisbane’s top-performing academic schools. With some of the best educational facilities in Queensland Moreton Bay College needs to maintain its standard when outsourcing equipment and contractors therefore it was no surprise the College decided to approach VIDEOPRO for their audio visual solutions; a refurbishment of audio visual equipment for their Theatre and installation of interactive whiteboard systems into their new Primary Library. Moreton Bay College wanted to bring their Theatre presentation equipment up to an educational standard that was current but also enabled expansion for future growth. An integration of fresh technology for the new Primary Library was the next step; the technology had to match the contemporary, modern design of the new facility.
Installation: To meet the new modern edge of the Primary Library, mobile and fixed interactive whiteboard systems with room controls were placed in the building. This specialised system provides functionality and allows uniformity across all of the systems. The technology for Moreton Bay College’s Theatre facilities needed to meet the specific requirements of the College. An AMX control system with a 10” touch panel was installed to provide full control of the audio visual equipment within the facility. The 10” touch panel controls the Theatre’s widescreen data projection system, audio capabilities of the room and the interface to the existing dynalite lighting system.

An Integration of FRESH TECHNOLOGY
Four smaller touch panels were installed around the Theatre to ensure lighting control could be achieved easily by both students and teachers. The refurbishment of the audio visual equipment in the Theatre posed some obstacles. To assist in keeping costs to a minimum, a range of features from the existing equipment were to be utilized. Although the system was dated, with exceptional planning and skill it was brought back to life with a NEXIA PM Digital Signal Processer. Although the project had its challenges, client expectations were exceeded with VIDEOPRO receiving an exceptional customer service rating. David Royds, IT Support Coordinator at Moreton Bay College believes the Theatre and Primary Library fit outs have been installed to a very high standard and meet all expectations: “VIDEOPRO were able to adapt to last minute variations of original specifications made by the College.
