DESCRIPTION The MCW-D 1641 system unit has two 9-pin removable terminal boards. One is for connecting a headphone, loudspeaker, microphone and illuminated ring or another indication of the ready-to-talk status. The other one is for connecting the operating voltage and microphone button and two LEDs for microphone on (green) and request-to-talk (red). The gooseneck microphone to be used should be a condenser microphone (back electret) for AB-powering. The audio input can be re-configured with internal jumpers between microphone level with or without AB-powering and line level. The equalisation of the microphone input has been adjusted to the use of beyerdynamic microphones of the SHM 200 series. If microphones of another series or another manufacturer are to be used, it might be necessary that the MCW-D 1641 must be adjusted to these microphones accordingly. All microphone units can be switched on centrally via the connected operating voltage. The function of the MCW-D 1641 corresponds to the other desktop microphone units. By pressing the microphone button in the operating mode, the request-to-talk is received by the control unit (a possible external dual colour LED will illuminate red) and the next free channel is used (standard 4, can be extended to 7). Then the control unit informs the microphone unit which channel must be used. When the channel of the microphone unit is adjusted and checked by the control unit, the microphone will be released (the colour of the possible external dual colour LED changes from red to green). The ready-to-talk condition of the micorphone is indicated by the illuminated ring of the microphone. In the request-to-talk mode of the system, the request to talk is registered, but the microphone is not released. The request-to-talk is indicated by a red LED. The microphone is released by the operator at the PC with the “MCW-D Controller” software or with a media control system. If the microphone button is pressed once again, the delegate can delete the request-to-talk. The parameters for the microphone units are adjusted via the PC with the “MCW-D Editor” software. The parameters can be adjusted for each microphone unit individually or for the complete discussion system. It is determined on which of the 8 even or 8 odd transmitting and receiving channels the microphone units are to transmit and receive. With the “Auto Off” function the microphones are switched off, if a participant forgets to switch off his microphone and does not contiunue to speak. The time and sensitivity of the “Auto Off” function can be configured. If a loudspeaker is connected the signal of the complete conference system (original sound) is reproduced and the level is adjusted accordingly. When the microphone is switched on, the volume of the loudspeaker is decreased. The output level of the headphone connection can be adjusted between recording level for documentations and headphone level. RF transmitting power and RF receiving sensitivity can be adjusted for multi-system operation, the use in large conference rooms or for safety reasons. All microphone units have their own address and are compatible among each other so that an existing system can be complemented with microphone units at any time. The DSSS transmission ensures a high safety against unauthorised listening. A PIN code provides additional security against unauthorised listening within one system, because the control unit will identify a microphone unit without the correct PIN code and switch it off. The metal housing can be positioned and fixed with the Velcro® tape.
CA 2473 D The remote CA 2473 D operating unit (for delegate microphone units) can be connected to the 9-pin Sub-D connection. The first line of the LC-Display indicates the menu, the second line displays the function of the multi-function buttons. For interpreting applications, the CA 2473 D operating unit can be used to adjust the indicated language, the foreign languages (original and up to 7 foreign languages) and the headphone volume. For multi-channel interpreting applications the MCW-D 100 control unit must be equipped with the CA 2451 PCB.
