Overview The Premier Hazard COMPACT-SD-DVR4 is a versatile Mobile Digital Video Recorder specially designed for vehicle video surveillance. It is uses SD memory cards as its main data storage, and its compact dimensions of just 115mm x 92mm x 20mm make it ideal for installation in vehicles where space is limited. It supports video recording in in a variety of quality formats which include D1 (704x576) and even up to 1280 x 1024 if required. It features 4 input channels for cameras and microphones, and can also accept alarm sensing inputs from up to 3 external latched devices such as brakes, indicators etc. The system can also optionally be supplied with a GPS receiver to record vehicle speed and location which can be plotted during playback on satellite/road maps using the supplied software. A configurable timer allows for delayed shutdown when the vehicle is powered off, and the unit can be triggered to record by ignition, timer, and/or alarm events.
Applications The compact size, versatile functions, and low cost make the Premier Hazard COMPACT-SD-DVR4 ideal for a wide range of applications: School bus – most school bus journey are of short duration and problems with students are usually reported quickly. The COMPACT-SD-DVR4 is ideal for such journeys as it can hold a number of days of typical school trips even at high quality settings. Furthermore, it can record both audio and video so verbal abuse towards drivers etc can be captured from up to four locations on the bus. Taxis – many taxi operators suffer from “runners” or drunken passengers. CCTV can have a significant impact on safety and reduced losses in taxi operations but many systems are too big to physically fit in the vehicle. The Premier Hazard COMPACT-SD-DVR4 is the perfect solution as it small dimensions mean it can easily be fitted in a glove box or under seat compartment. Vans – courier operators are often accused of losing or damaging goods in transit. The Premier Hazard COMPACT-SD-DVR4 can record from up to 4 cameras, one of which can be focused on the payload and used as evidence in such cases. Furthermore, with the optional GPS fitted the system can record routes taken and when/where parcels where delivered or collected. Highway maintenance – the Premier Hazard COMPACT-SD-DVR4 is already in use with Highways Agencies in the UK, helping to protect their fleet of highway maintenance vehicles and staff. Its compact size, high quality recording, and versatile design make it useful on a wide range of highway maintenance vehicles and operations. Security and policing – there is an increasing need to record evidence in policing and security operations, especially when accusations of improper procedures are made. The COMPACT-SD-DVR4 is an ideal solution for such operations as the 4 input channels allow for multi-camera coverage, and the alarm sensing inputs can record activation of blue lights, siren etc. The SD card recording media is solid state and therefore extremely robust which is obviously a key feature for vehicles which can experience high levels of acceleration and braking.
