MEDIAPRO® CONFERENCING DSP SOFTWARE LIBRARY SPECIFICATIONS OVERVIEW Voiceboard’s MediaPro Conferencing library is a set of downloadable software modules for MediaPro DSP resource hardware products. MediaPro Conferencing provides advanced multi party conferencing, intercom and mixing/monitor functionality. MediaPro conferencing supports up to 1,024 participants in a single conference. The number of multiple simultaneous conferences achieved is based on the capacity of DSP hardware installed. CONFERENCING FUNCTIONALITY Voiceboard offers several conferencing variants meeting a variety of system requirements. Dynamic conferencing actively limits the maximum number of simultaneous speaking parties, typically 3-4, to maintain intelligibility. The MediaPro dynamic conferencing algorithm is typically used to implement conferences conducted via the PSTN. Dynamic conferencing features echo cancellation, DTMF or IP control of conference features, conference supervisor, speaker mute and the ability to configure conference members as “active” or “listen only” participants. Static conferencing sets no limitations on the number of active speaking parties. MediaPro static conferencing is built upon a high performance low delay bridge, achieving static conference modules of 128 participants that may be cascaded to create conferences with up to 1,024 participants. Static conference broadcasts a mix of all active speakers to each conference participant. Static conferencing features manual or AGC gain control, squelch to minimize noise buildup on large conferences and sidetone in/out select. Static conferencing is typically used in military and emergency radio system applications. Mixing allows a user to monitor multiple audio sources. The MediaPro mixer features individually adjustable input levels for each audio source. Mixing is frequently combined with static conferencing, whereby mixer audio is routed to one ear of a headset earpiece and intercom audio is routed to the other. CONFERENCING LIBRARY FEATURES • DTMF control: Removes DTMF control tones from audio broadcast to prevent disrupting conference. • G.168-2000 echo canceller: Prevents audio feedback and echoes during a conference. • Voice activity detection: Identifies active talker status. • AGC: Equalizes conference participant input and output volume levels. • Flexible conversion between alaw and ulaw: Allows simultaneous conference bridging between T1 and E1 spans. • Voice logging: Records both sides of a conference call. • TDM to RTP audio streaming: Allows conferencing between PSTN, workstation and Internet based participants. • Audio compression: Industry standard G.711, G.729, G.723 and G.726 compression minimizes network traffic loading. • High density: Up to 1,024 active participants per conference. • Supervision Modes: Conference supervisor may selectively control which conference members can hear chosen participants, which participants can be talkers, and if the conference should by terminated when the supervisor exits. • Squelch: Prevents noise build-up in large static conferences. • Capacity growth: Conferences can extend across multiple boards in a CompactPCI chassis. • Flexibility: Software configured conference participant settings, including listen-only, talker, sidetone on/off and talker priority. 473 Post Street • Camarillo, California 93010 • Telephone 805/389-3100 • FAX 805/389-1611 E-mail: [email protected] • URL: http://www.voiceboard.com Conferencing DSP Library Configuration Options CONFERENCE CAPACITY TABLE MC2 Voiceboard offers MediaPro Call Control (MC2) real time application software that implements high level conferencing and call control features for military and emergency services applications.
