What does an ECG do? ECG (Electrocardiogram) is a graphic recording of electrical activity generated by the heart. ECG is acquired by measuring the subtle voltage differences on the body surface around the heart. ECG is used to diagnose heart diseases such as myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, etc.

What’s EKG-Plus II? EKG-Plus II is a software program that enables you to interface all Bionet ECG devices, including CardioCare 2000 and CardioTouch 3000, to Windows based computers through LAN. The ECG data from Bionet ECG devices is saved in either Bionet’s proprietary file format(.ecg) or jpeg image file on PC. This JPEG file format ensures compatibility with most EMR packages.

Why EKG-Plus II? ECG records have to be kept as part of the patient record. Recently, since electronic medical records have become prevalent, the ability to store ECG data in the electronic medical record is a must have. As a simple and powerful solution, Bionet provides EKG-Plus II software to connect the CardioCare 2000 and CardioTouch 3000, get the ECG data from them, and convert it to a JPEG image to be sent to the current electronic medical record. In addition, you can print ECGs directly to your Windows based printer as well as providing some useful tools like a magnifying glass, direct measurement, print preview and so on.

What’s the Bionet EKG SDK? Bionet EKG SDK is a software development kit to assist programmers in developing applications and interfaces to Practice Management Software, EMR software, Hospital Information Software, and so on. Bionet EKG SDK provides an ActiveX component which can be used in the Windows environment. This ActiveX component enables the current hospital information system to receive ECGs from Bionet ECG devices, save them and review them with an ECG viewer which is provided from the ActiveX component.

What parameters are detected? Electrocardiograph (ECG) : ECG is acquired by measuring the subtle voltage differences on the body surface around the heart to monitor the status of heart function. Heart rate is calculated from ECG in real-time. • HR : Heart rate Non-Invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP) : The force that the circulating blood exerts on the walls of the arteries. • Systolic B.P : Pressure during contraction of the heart • Diastolic BP : Pressure during relaxation phase • Mean BP : Systolic BP + 2 x Diastolic BP / 3 Pulse Oximetry(SpO2) : It provides early information on problems in the delivery of oxygen to the tissue. Those problems may arise because of improper gas mixtures, blocked hoses or airways, inadequate ventilation, diffusion, or circulation, etc. • SaO2 : Arterial Oxygen Saturation • SpO2 : Pulse Oximeter Saturation.

What does a Fetal Monitor do? A fetal monitor is a machine used to monitor the condition of the fetus by measuring and recording; fetal heart rate(FHR), fetal movement (FM) and uterine contractions (UC) simultaneously.

What parameters are detected? FHR(Fetal Heart Rate) : FHR is detected by using an Ultrasound transducer. The movement of the fetal heart affects the frequency of the reflected ultrasound. FHR is calculated from this reflected ultrasound and usually used to monitor the oxygen delivery status. UA(Uterine Activity) : UA is detected by a TOCO transducer which has a pressure sensor inside. UA is used to monitor the interval , period, and intensity of uterine contraction. UA may be called UC(Uterine Contraction) FM(Fetal Movement) : FM is detected by an Ultrasound transducer . The movement of the fetus’ body affects the frequency of the reflected ultrasound. FM is calculated from this reflected ultrasound and usually used to evaluate Fetus Status during NST(Non-Stress Test)
