Low-Cost, Powerful ZCR SAS RAID Solution The MegaRAID SAS 8300XLP zero-channel RAID (ZCR) adapter converts a motherboard’s own onboard Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) controller into a powerful RAID solution, allowing for an easy and low-cost upgrade path to SAS RAID. This low profile, intelligent PCI-X to SAS RAID adapter is ideal for 1U and 2U server environments. With 128MB integrated ECC SDRAM, battery backup support and the power of the Intel® IOP321 (400MHz) I/O processor, the MegaRAID SAS 8300XLP provides unmatched reliability and performance. Motherboard Compatibility The MegaRAID SAS 8300XLP adapter is designed to use a motherboard’s own on-board SAS ports using the LSI Logic LSISAS1068 SAS controller with appropriate interrupt routing circuitry. MegaRAID SAS solutions enable system builders to meet both performance and capacity requirements using either SAS drives, 3Gb/s SATA drives or a combination of both. SAS drives provide speed, reliability and scalability for enterprise-class systems, while SATA drives allow for low-cost and efficient storage in datadense environments. Advanced RAID Management Utility The MegaRAID Management Suite™ of software is a complete spectrum of applications and tools including a next generation pre-boot as well as advanced online RAID management utilities. This new suite of applications features a variety of configuration options and SAS topology views from the system host, controller and disk enclosure down to the logical and physical drive level. This allows administrators to efficiently configure, monitor and manage RAID volumes locally or over the network.

The LSI Logic MegaRAID battery backup units provide an inexpensive alternative to using an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
