MEN'S TALKING WATCH ALARM-GOLD FINISH WITH EXPANSION BAND 4 BUTTON TIM-141-511-3410 Getting to know your new watch: Your watch is actually two separate watches located in one case: a fully featured talking watch with alarm feature, and a conventional quartz watch with clear black hands on a white face. Because the watches are not linked, each watch needs to be set separately. Around the case of the watch are 5 controls: a familiar setting wheel for the quartz watch and 4 buttons around the edge of the case. The setting wheel for the hands of the quartz watch is at the familiar 3 o’clock position; this is known as the crown. The controls for the talking watch consist of 4 small push buttons at the 2, 4, 8 and 10 o’clock positions around the edge of the case. You use the button at 2 o’clock whenever you want a voice report of the current time. The watch uses two batteries, one for the analogue functions and another for the talking watch; both should be replaced periodically. Setting the current time and alarm: 1. Setting the watch’s hands: Have the watch facing you with the crown at 3 o’clock on the right hand side. You may find your watch is shipped with a small plastic lock between the crown and the case, which prevents the battery running down while the watch is in storage. If there is such a guard on your watch, grip and remove it now. You may have to pull the crown wheel out as far as it will go, 1mm or so, to release the lock, and then push it back into the case. Pull out the crown about 1mm; you can now turn the crown to adjust the hands, just like any other watch.
Align the two hands on the face to show the correct time. After setting the time push the crown back into the case and the watch will start to keep time; the second hand will move. 2. Setting the time of the talking watch: The controls for the talking watch are 4 small push buttons at the 2, 4, 8, and 10 o’clock positions around the edge of the case. To simplify these instructions, we will refer to each button by its location on the dial: the button at the 2 o’clock position will be referred to as button 2; the button at 4 o’clock will be called button 4, and so on. Press button 10: the watch will say, “Set time”. You have 10 seconds to start setting the time before the watch automatically exits from setting mode, making one beep as it does. Within the 10-second period, press buttons 4 and 8 to advance the minutes and hours, respectively, until the watch is set. The watch will announce each change in the minutes and hours as you set the watch. Ten seconds after you stop setting the watch, it will return to normal operations, unless you press button 10 again to place the watch in alarm-setting mode. 3. Setting the alarm time: While in normal operation mode, press button 10 twice; the watch will say “Set time” and then “set alarm time” as you do this. Press button 2 to hear any previously programmed alarm time. If you want to go with the previous time, all you need do now is to turn the alarm on, as described below. But if you want to select a new time, use buttons 4 and 8 to advance the minutes and hours, respectively, until the desired value is reached. The watch will announce each change in the values during this process. The watch will beep once after 10 seconds and return to normal operating mode; pressing button 10 again during this period will also make the watch return to normal operation.
4. Turning the alarm on and off and selecting the alarm sound: There are 3 choices for the alarm sound: a rooster call, two beeps, or three musical tones. You select the alarm sound after turning on the alarm. Press button 8 to turn on the alarm. To select a sound, press button 8 again repeatedly. If no alarm sound has been selected previously, then as you press the button you will hear the rooster call, if that is the sound you desire then the watch is set. If you wish to use another sound then press once more and you will hear two beeps; press once more to hear the three musical tones. Repeat the process until you hear the tone you want, then that sound will be used for the alarm. You turn off the alarm by repeatedly pressing button 8 again. It will cycle through the alarm sounds until it says, “Alarm Off”. 5. Silencing the alarm: When the alarm goes off, the watch will announce the time and the alarm sound will repeat; press any of the setting buttons to stop the alarm but still leave it active for the next day. 6. Selecting the hourly announcement option: The watch can be set to speak the time automatically every hour: press button 4; the watch will say, “Time on”, which means the hourly announcement will be heard; press it again and it will say, “Time off”. Press button 4 as needed until you have set this option as you want it. Battery replacement: The watch’s sound volume will decrease and the hands may become inoperative if the batteries need replacement. This watch uses 2 separate batteries, one for the quartz watch with hands, type SR626, and another for the talking watch, type CR2016. Due to the complexity of the watch’s construction, CNIB strongly advises you to take it to a watch repair centre for battery replacement.

Your watch is warranted against manufacturing faults for 24 months from the date of its original sale, subject to normal use and care; abuse voids this warranty – which does not cover the replacement of batteries past the first 30 days.
