NOTE: When an event is happening, the icon will glow 11 4. MAIN MENU Before operating the DVR, please make sure that you have properly connected all the cables and HDD’s. Pressing the Menu button on the DVR or from the Remote will open the main menu. 4.1 Quick Setup Menu Pressing the Quick button will open the Quick Setup page. Select the desired item by pressing ▲, ▼ button from the remote controller. 4.1.1 Quick Setup Select “ON” or “OFF” by pressing the NOTE : If you select “ON”, button from the remote. RECORD MENU will be disregarded. 12 4.1.2 Image Size Select the desired IMAGE SIZE for recording by pressing the button from the remote. a) 360 X 240 b) 720 X 240 c) 720 X 480 4.1.3 Record Frame Select the desired frame rate for normal recording using the 4.1.4 button of the remote. Image Quality Select the desired image quality using the button from the remote. There are 4 kinds of image quality; Best, Fine, and Normal & Low. 4.1.5 Event Select any type of EVENT by using the button of the remote. Select all events by choosing “ALL”. Choose “OFF” for no event recording. The default Value is “ALL”. 4.1.6 Pre-Record Time Select the desired time for pre-recording using the button from the remote. When a video loss, alarm or motion is detected, the DVR will store pre-recorded data for the selected time. The pre-recording time can be set from 0 seconds to 5 seconds. The default is 5 seconds. 4.1.7 Post Record Time Select the desired time for post-recording using the button from the remote. When a video loss, alarm or motion is detected, the DVR will store post-recorded data for the selected time. The post-recording time can be set from 0 seconds to 60 seconds. The default is 10 seconds. 4.1.8 Preview Quality Selecting this option will let you preview what your recording quality will be like. 4.1.9 Audio Record Select “ON” or “OFF” using the 4.1.10 button of the remote to record audio. Save Press the Save icon using the Enter button to save the Menu Configuration. 13 4.2 SCREEN Select SCREEN Menu by pressing the Enter button from the remote. Select the desired item by pressing ▲,▼ button from the remote controller. 4.2.1 Auto Sequence Move the cursor to the AUTO SEQUENCE using ▲,▼ buttons. Move the cursor to each single or split channel using the ▲,▼ buttons. When the desired channel is selected, change the value of AUTO SEQUENCE duration using the button. This sets the length of time for switching each channel in a sequence. The value can be set from 1 SEC to 60 SEC. The default is 3 SEC. VIDEO LOSS SKIP : If selected ON, every VIDEO LOSS channel will be skipped in the AUTO SEQUENCE mode. The default is “ON”. ADD AUTO SINGLE: If selected OFF, every single channel will be skipped in the AUTO SEQUENCE mode. The default is “OFF”. 14 4.2.2 Display This menu allows you to select which items will be displayed on the monitoring screen. 4.2.2.1 HDD Free Space Press button to choose “ON” or “OFF”. The default is “ON”. If turned ON the remaining capacity of the fixed (not backup) HDDs will be displayed on the screen. 4.2.2.2 HDD Free Space Mode Use the button to choose “PERCENT” or “GIGABYTE”. The default is “PERCENT”. PERCENT: Remaining capacity of the fixed HDDs will be displayed on the screen in percent. GIGABYTE: Remaining capacity of the fixed HDDs will be displayed on the screen in gigabyte. 4.2.2.3 Record Status Use the button to choose “ON” or “OFF”. The default is “ON”. ON: Displays the recording status of each channel on the screen. 4.2.2.4 Clock Display Use the buttons to choose “ON” or “OFF”. The default is “ON”. ON: The date and time will be displayed on the screen. 15 4.2.2.5 Date & Time Mode Use the button to choose “YY/MM/DD” or “MM/DD/YY” or “DD/MM/YY”. The default is “YY/MM/DD”. YY/MM/DD : All date and time will be displayed in numbers. Ex. 2005/01/01 00:00:00 MM/DD/YY : the month section will be displayed in character. Ex. JAN. 01 2005 00:00:00 DD/MM/YY : the day section will be displayed in character. Ex. 01. JAN 2005 00:00:00 4.2.2.6 Title Display Use the buttons to choose “ON” or “OFF”. The default is “ON”. ON: Each channel title will be displayed on the screen. 4.2.2.7 Title Mode Use the buttons to choose “TEXT” or “BITMAP”. The default is “TEXT”. A bitmap is a type of graphics file on a computer. You can make characters with bitmap on the setup window of network client viewer after connecting the computer with DVR. 4.2.2.8 Border Color Use the buttons to choose “WHITE” or “BLACK”. The default is “WHITE”. WHITE: The color of the border line will be displayed on the multi-channel screen in white. BLACK: The color of the border line will be displayed on the multi-channel screen in black. 4.2.2.9 GPS Information Use the buttons to choose “ON” or “OFF”. The default is “OFF”. ON: When the GPS INFORMATION is made “ON”, it gives the tracking information about the vehicle. 4.2.2.10 Speed Display Mode Use the buttons to choose either MILE or KILOMETER. This will display the distance covered by the Vehicle on the live screen in terms of Kilometer or Mile. 16 4.2.3 Use the Title ◀,▶ buttons to see the next page. Press the ENTER button after selecting desired channel using the ▲,▼ Select the character using the ▲,▼, buttons. ◀,▶ buttons and then press the ENTER button. To exit this CHARACTER TABLE screen, press the ESC button. CHANNEL TITLE MODE: There are “TEXT” and “BITMAP”. TEXT: Using the CHARACTER TABLE BITMAP: It is possible to download new characters using the client software if you want. 4.2.4 Covert Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the COVERT and this screen appears. 17 Move the cursor and select the desired item using the ▲,▼ buttons. Use the buttons to choose “ON” or “OFF”. Use the ◀,▶ buttons to see the next page. ON: Selected channel will be displayed in black screen (Covert). SELECT: Select among “LIVE&PLAYBACK&NETWORK”, “PLAYBACK&NETWORK”, “LIVE&NETWORK”, “LIVE&PLAYBACK”, “NETWORK”, “PLAYBACK” and “LIVE”. You can control brightness, contrast, hue and saturation of each camera. The default is 50%. 18 4.3 RECORD To set up the RECORD menu, Move the cursor to the RECORD icon using the ◀,▶ in the MENU screen. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the RECORD icon and the following items appear. User can select any item using ▲,▼ button from the remote. 4.3.1 Record Setup This menu allows you to configure a weekly recording schedule. In the schedule you must use the predefined programs (0-9) in order to set up the recording properly. You can use and combine different pre-defined programs during the week according with your own needs. (See RECORD PROGRAM section for more information) 19 Move the cursor to choose the desired time using the ▲,▼,◀, ▶ buttons. Select the desired program among PROGRAM 0~9 using the button. Press the ESC button to exit this RECORD SETUP menu or press the ENTER button to enter the RECORD PROGRAM menu. 4.3.2 Record Program This feature uses predefined recording modes to create new ones according to your own needs. This means you can create different programs modes using the existing pre-defined programs. You can have up to 10 different programs (0-9). These programs will be used to setup the recording schedule on the RECORD SETUP menu. For example, you can create a program for Motion detection or continuous recoding. At the RECORD menu, move the cursor to the RECORD PROGRAM using ▲,▼ buttons. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the RECORD PROGRAM and the following screen appears. Use the ▲ ,▼, ◀ ,▶ buttons to move the cursor to the desired item. Select the desired value for each selected item using the After all settings are done, exit using the „ESC‟ key. buttons. When exiting from this menu, the DVR computes the values under this menu. If some mistakes exist the DVR will display an error message and will return to this menu again. If a „0‟ FPS value is detected out of the settings, the DVR will show a warning message and then exit. 4.3.3 Preview Quality At the RECORD menu, Move the cursor to the PREVIEW using ▲,▼ buttons. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the PREVIEW QUALITY and the following screen appears. 20 Select the desired RECORD QUALITY using the button. You will see the size of each image quality and how long you can record with the installed HDDs. To exit this PREVIEW QUALITY menu, press the ESC button. You have to turn the recording “off” to see Image Quality Screen. RECORD TIME: A period how long you can record in free space of installed HDD(s) by setting frame rate. TOTAL TIME: A period how long you can record in total installed HDD(s) by setting frame rate. The higher the image quality is, the bigger the file size is. The lower the image quality, the smaller the file size is. 4.3.4 Press the 4.3.5 Audio Record button of the remote to change the Audio Record “ON” or “OFF”. Repeat Record Use the buttons to set “ON” or “OFF”. Move the cursor to ”REPEAT RECORD ALARM” using ▲,▼ buttons and then select the desired value using buttons . The value is from 5% to 10%. To exit this REPEAT RECORD menu, press the ESC button. ON: The recorded data will be overwritten when it is a point of time to work the REPEAT RECORD. REPEAT RECORD ALARM is the rest capacity of the HDD. If you set “REPEAT RECORD ALARM” to 5%, alarm will work when the rest capacity of the HDD is 5%. 21 4.3.6 Holiday Set up “ON” or “OFF” of HOLIDAY RECORD using the buttons. To exit this TEST MOTION, press the ESC button. 4.4.2 Event Screen Mode At the EVENT menu, move the cursor to the EVENT SCREEN MODE using ▲,▼ buttons. Select the EVENT SCREEN MODE using the button. SCREEN HOLD: Holds the current screen even if the event occurs. EVENT FULL: Display the full screen of the channel which the event occurs. EVENT MULTI: Display the multi-screen when the event occurs. EVENT F_RTN: Display the full screen of the channel which the event occurs and return. EVENT M_RTN: Display the multi-screen when the event occurs and return. NOTE: If you want to use this function, you have to set EVENT setting of each channel of RECORD PROGRAM by “O(ON)”. 4.4.3 Event Check At the EVENT menu, move the cursor to the EVENT CHECK using ▲,▼ buttons. To exit this screen, press the “ESC” button. NOTE - You can set the RELAY OUTPUT of each channel for the event type. - Relay output is from 1 to 4 seconds. You can set the period of the relay output. There are POWER, USER, NOT USED and HDD ERROR.  POWER: The relay is working when power is off.  USER: User can operate the relay manually. Press the “FUNCTION” button to operate RELAY 4 manually. NC→NO: And then press the (+) button. NO→NC: And then press the (-) button. Press the “FUNCTION” button again if you want to exit this mode. (You can also use this function through network viewer.) 4.4.7 GPS At the EVENT menu, move the cursor to the “GPS” using the ▲,▼ buttons. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the “GPS” and the following screen appears. User can change the SHOCKSENSOR “ON” by pressing the button from the remote. X-THRESHOLD: X-Threshold values are automatically varied when there is any event. The default value is 1. Y-THRESHOLD: Y-Threshold values are automatically varied whenever any event occurs. The default value is 0. Z-THRESHOLD: Z-Threshold values also change when any event occurs. The default value is 4. SPEED PARAMETER: The below said parameter values may change depending on the acceleration speed of the vehicle a) SPEED LIMIT b) LENGTHY STOP c) EXCESSIVE BREAK d) EXCESSIVE SPEED 25 4.5 SYSTEM To set up the SYSTEM menu, Move the cursor to the SYSTEM icon using the ▲,▼ in the MENU screen. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the SYSTEM icon and the following items appear. 4.5.1 Storage At the SYSTEM menu, move the cursor to the STORAGE using the ▲,▼ buttons. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the STORAGE and the following screen appears. 26 4.5.1.1 Storage Configuration At the STORAGE menu, move the cursor to STORAGE CONFIGURATION using the ▲,▼ buttons. You can set the SDCARD Memory stick either to Record or Backup Mode. 1) REC: Normal and Event recording. 2) BACKUP: Only for backup. Move the Cursor to EXTERNAL SDCARD to see the below screen. There is an option of having another 4 SDCARD Memory sticks externally as shown above. You can select the MODE either as BACKUP or RECORDING mode using button from the remote. 4.5.1.2 SD Card Initialize At the STORAGE menu, Move the cursor to SD CARD INITIALIZE using the ▲,▼ button. 27 If you want to initialize (format) the SD CARD, move the cursor to “YES” and then press the “ENTER” button. If not, move the cursor to “NO” and press the “ENTER” button. To exit this screen, press the ESC button. To exit this HDD menu, press the “ESC” button again. 4.5.2 Clock At the SYSTEM menu, move the cursor to the CLOCK using the ▲,▼ buttons. 4.5.2.1 Date & Time At the CLOCK menu, move the cursor to the DATE&TIME using the ▲,▼ buttons. Use the ▲,▼ buttons to move the cursor to the desired position of date or time. Use the buttons to modify the current date and time. - DATE: YYYY/MM/DD YEAR/MONTH/DAY - TIME: HH:MM:SS HOUR:MINUTE:SECOND Press the ENTER button to save the modified value. To exit this DATE & TIME screen, press the ESC button. 4.5.2.2 Time Adjust 28 At the CLOCK menu, move the cursor to the TIME ADJUST using the ▲,▼ buttons. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the TIME ADJUST. Select “ON” or “OFF” using the buttons when the cursor is on “INTERNET TIME ADJUST”. If the INTERNET TIME ADJUST is “ON”, the time of DVR will be adjusted to the time offered by an NTP server. Move the cursor using the ▲,▼ buttons and then set the IP address of SELECT TIME SERVER using the buttons . Set the correct TIME ZONE standard to your GMT. Move the cursor to the DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME using the using the buttons. Select “ON” or “OFF” button If the DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME set “ON”, set up the starting date and time and ending date and time. Use the ▲,▼ buttons to move the cursor and use the (-), (+) buttons to change the value. To exit this TIME ADJUST menu, press the ESC button. Manual setup: This DVR can recognize the correct time by itself. That is to say, if you input the correct time 3 or 4 times, 4.5.2 VIDEOtheSTANDARD DVR will recognize the clock error and display the correct time by itself. When you power on, you can see the TIME TRIMMING VALUE screen and modify time correctly on this screen with AUTO button and ALARM RESET button. 5.5.3 VIDEO STANDARD 4.5.3 Video Standard At the SYSTEM menu, move the cursor to the VIDEO STANDARD using the ▲,▼ buttons. You can select either NTSC or PAL using the button. Press the ESC button to exit from VIDEO STANDARD menu. If you select “AUTO”, this DVR can detect NTSC/PAL automatically. 4.5.4 Language At the SYSTEM menu, move the cursor to the LANGUAGE using the ▲,▼ buttons. Select the desired language using the 4.5.5 buttons. Advanced Setup At the SYSTEM SETUP menu, move the cursor to the ADVANCED SETUP using the ▲,▼ buttons. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the ADVANCED SETUP and the following screen appears. 29 To exit this ADVANCED SETUP menu, press the ESC button NOTE: In case that the PASSWORD CHECK is on, only ADMIN can enter the ADVANCED SETUP MENU. 4.5.5.1 Password Check At the ADVANCED SETUP menu, move the cursor to the PASSWORD CHECK using the ▲,▼ buttons. Select ON or OFF using the button. If you select OFF, password menu won‟t work. 4.5.5.2 Set Password At the ADVANCED SETUP menu, move the cursor to the SET PASSWORD using the ▲,▼ buttons. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the SET PASSWORD and the following screen appears. Select the administrator or user1~4 to change the password 30 Insert your desired password in the eight digits marked _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ besides NEW PASSWORD using CAMERA/ NUMBER INPUT buttons. RE-TYPE your password using the CAMERA/ NUMBER INPUT buttons to verify the password. To exit this menu, press the ESC button. NOTE: You can use only 0~9 number buttons to setup the PASSWORD. The default of ADMIN is 11111111, USER1 is 22222222, USER2 is 33333333, USER3 is 44444444, USRE4 is 55555555. If you forget the admin password, please contact Speco Technologies. NOTE : Upgrade the firmware with the USB which is located on the Front Panel. 4.6 LINK To set up the LINK menu, move the cursor to the LINK icon using the ◀,▶ in the MENU screen. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the LINK icon and the following items appear. 4.6.1 Network At the LINK menu, move the cursor to the NETWORK using the ▲,▼ buttons. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the NETWORK and the following screen appears. 32 4.6.1.1 DHCP At the NETWORK menu, move the cursor to the DHCP using the ▲,▼ buttons. Select “OFF” using the button. 4.6.1.2 IP Address At the NETWORK menu, move the cursor to the IP ADDRESS using the ▲,▼ buttons. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the E-MAIL and the following screen appears. 35 4.6.4.1 Send E-mail At the E-MAIL menu, move the cursor to the SEND E-MAIL using the ▲,▼ buttons and select “ON” using the buttons to send e-mails when an event happens. 4.6.4.2 SMTP Server At the E-MAIL menu, move the cursor to the SMTP SERVER using the ▲,▼ buttons to input the e-mail sever address to be used by DVR. Select the character using the ▲,▼,◀,▶ buttons and then press the ENTER button. To exit this CHARACTER TABLE screen, press the ESC button. 4.6.4.3 Port Please input the SMTP port. 4.6.5 DVR Name At the E-MAIL menu, move the cursor to the DVR NAME using the Press the ENTER button and the following screen appears. 36 ▲,▼ buttons . To exit this CHARACTER TABLE screen, press the ESC button. 4.6.7 Bandwidth Move the cursor to the BANDWIDTH using the ▲,▼ buttons to input network bandwidth. User can change the values from 0MB to 10MB using the 37 button of the remote. Please note then when using the WIRELESS function, lowering your bandwidth may improve your transmission. To exit, press the ESC button. 4.6.8 Wireless Move the cursor to WIRELESS screen using the ▲,▼ buttons. You can change the WIRELESS mode from “Auto” to “Manual”. If using Auto, WIRELESS will turn on as soon as the DVR is powered up. When using Manual, WIRELESS will turn on after WIRELESS button is pushed on front panel. For more information, please refer to Section 5. Wireless 4.6.8.1 Mobile Server Input the IP address of the Mobile Server here. For more information, please refer to Section 5. Wireless 4.7 SEARCH To set up the SEARCH menu, move the cursor to the SEARCH icon using the ▲,▼in the MENU screen. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the SEARCH icon and the following items appear. User can select and search any of the above options by pressing the Enter button. 4.7.1 Calendar Search Move the cursor to the CALENDER SEARCH icon using the ▲,▼in the MENU screen. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the Calendar Search and the following screen appear. 38 Calendar search provides a quick overview of the year, month, day and hours of the day so that the data can be accessed relatively quickly. Press the SEARCH button to access the search screen. Highlight CALENDAR SEARCH and press the ENTER button to access the CALENDAR SEARCH screen. It will start searching for the data automatically. The dates that contain recorded data will be displayed in clear font, whereas dates without data will be in white. Select the desired date and then press the ENTER button. To change the month or the year, highlight the month or the year and then adjust the value by pressing the + and – buttons. When a date is selected, the DVR will then search again for the recorded data in a 24-hour period for the date. The hour blocks that contain data will be displayed in yellow. Move the highlight to the desired hour block and then press the ENTER button to start the playback. 4.7.2 Search & Copy Move the cursor to the SEARCH & COPY icon using the ▲,▼in the MENU screen. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on it and the following screen appears. Search & copy allows a quick review of the recorded data and backup onto a medium, and thus minimizes the need to navigate through different screens to pinpoint the exact time and duration of the video. Press the SEARCH button to access the search screen. Highlight SEARCH & COPY and then press the ENTER button to access the SEARCH & COPY screen. Select which SD Card Memory stick to retrieve the data from. If unknown, leave the STORAGE ID to “NORMAL”. 4.7.3 Time Search Move the cursor to the TIME SEARCH icon using the ▲,▼in the MENU screen. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on it and the following screen appears. 39 Time search provides an overview of the recorded data from the earliest available recording to the latest available recording. 4.7.4 Event Search Move the cursor to the EVENT SEARCH icon using the ▲,▼in the MENU screen. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on it and the following screen appears. Event search provides an overview of the all event related recordings so that a specific event can be quickly pinpointed and accessed. User can select the event type as listed in the above figure. 4.7.5 Block Search Move the cursor to the BLOCK SEARCH icon using the ▲,▼in the MENU screen. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on it and the following screen appears. 40 Block search has the capability to retrieve the recorded data even from hard drives that may have failed during the operation. Block search reads the logical block addressing (LBA) of the hard disk drives where the recorded data are associated chronologically with the actual location of the files. In other words, even if the hard drives are damaged, it may be possible to retrieve data from the hard disk drives. Press the SEARCH button to access the search screen. 4.7.6 File Search Move the cursor to the FILE SEARCH icon using the ▲,▼in the MENU screen. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on it and the following screen appears. File search is capable of reading and playing back the data from the media used for backup. USB flash memory or the external hard disk drive into the USB port. Press the SEARCH button to access the search screen. 4.7.7 Bookmark Search Move the cursor to the BOOKMARK SEARCH icon using the ▲,▼in the MENU screen. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on it and the following screen appears. Bookmark search looks up any bookmarks that have been added by the user. 41 Connect the 4.7.8 Log File The log file keeps a list of the important events that happened to the DVR. The log file can be saved to a USB flash memory as a text file so that it can be viewed and archived to a computer. The following are what the DVR keeps in its log file:  Power on / off  Power loss / DVR restart  Changes in the menu  DVR initialization  HDD initialization  Network connection / disconnection  Record start / stop 4.8 COPY To set up the COPY menu, move the cursor to the COPY icon using the ◀,▶ in the MENU screen. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the COPY icon and the following items appear. 4.8.1 Copy At the COPY menu, move the cursor to COPY using the ▲,▼ buttons. Press the ENTER button and the following screen appears. 42 Select the desired MEDIA using the buttons. Move the cursor to HDD ID using the ▲,▼ buttons and select the desired HDD to copy among HDD IDs using the buttons . Move the cursor to the desired position of COPY START TIME/ COPY END TIME using the ▲,▼, buttons. Press the ◀,▶ button to set up the time to set up the COPY START TIME and COPY END TIME. Press the ENTER button to copy. You can see a password input message. You need this password when opening the file in network viewer. NOTE When the copy is in process, the copying status (ex. “COPY 30%”) will be displayed on the right side of the monitor. You can search and playback the copied images in HDD with DVR itself. 4.8.2 COPY STATUS ** You have to format the media for first time use with the DVR. 4.8.2 Copy Status At the COPY menu, move the cursor to COPY STATUS using the ▲,▼buttons. Press the ENTER button to see the current copying status and the following screen appears. 43 Press the ESC button to exit this menu. 4.8.3 Media Format At the COPY menu, move the cursor to MEDIA FORMAT using the ▲,▼ buttons. Press the ENTER button and the following screen appears. Select the media using the button. Move the cursor to MEDIA FORMAT and then press the “ENTER” button. The message, “FORMATTING” will be displayed while formatting. NOTE 4.9 If you don‟t connect any media, you will see the message, “Fail” STATUS SCREEN Press the Status button on the front panel of the DVR and you will see the following screen. 44 4.9.1 DVR Status Move the Cursor to the DVR STATUS icon using ▲,▼ on the remote & press the Enter button to get the below Screen. The status screen displays the basic information about the DVR. Press the STATUS button to access the information screen. 1. FIXED HDD TOTAL SPACE Displays the total amount of installed hard drive space, including the hard drive space in the expansion bays. 2. FIXED HDD FREE SPACE Displays the available remaining hard drive space, including the hard drive space in the expansion bays. 3. RECORD PROGRAM Displays current recording program. 4. USB STORAGE Displays the size of the external hard drive space or USB Flash Memory. 5. USB CD / DVD Displays the status of installed CD or DVD optical drive. 6. SOFTWARE VERSION Displays current software version of the DVR. 7. HARDWARE VERSION Displays current hardware version of the DVR. 45 4.9.2 Network Status Move the cursor to the Network Status using ▲,▼ button from the remote & then click on it using the Enter button to see the screen below. 1. DHCP (DYNAMIC Displays the status of the DHCP application. 2. IP ADDRESS Displays currently assigned IP address. 3. SUBNET MASK Displays currently assigned subnet mask. 4. GATEWAY Displays currently assigned gateway. 5. DNS (DOMAIN NAME SERVER) Displays currently assigned DNS server information. 6. PORT Displays currently assigned network port. 7. DYNAMIC IP SERVER Displays currently assigned backup IP server. 8. BACKUP IP SERVER Displays the IP of the Back up Server. 9. MAC ADDRESS Displays the DVR‟s MAC address (Media Access Control address). 10. IP SERVER RESPONSE Indicates the connectivity status with the IP server. 46 4.9.3 Recording Bitrate Move the cursor to the RECORDING STATUS icon and press the ENTER button to see the below Screen. 4.10 EXIT At the MENU screen, Move the cursor to the EXIT icon using the ◀,▶ buttons. Press the ENTER button when the cursor is on the EXIT icon and the following items appear. - Move the cursor to the desired item using the ▲,▼ buttons and press the ENTER button. SAVE ONLY: Select this item if you want only to save the changed setup. SAVE AND EXIT: Select this item if you want to save the changed setup and exit this screen. EXIT WITHOUT SAVE: Select this item if you want do not want to save the changes. 47 5. WIRELESS INTRODUCTION With an Air Card, the mobile DVR can connect the network wirelessly. The information of DVR status, location, live image, recording image will transmitted to Software (Media viewer or Mobile Manager). 6. INSTALLATION 6.1 DVR Install the DVR without ETHERNET connection. 6.2 Media Viewer Install the program on a PC. It can play back video, monitor live video, and access the DVR menu settings on both ETHERNET connection and wireless networking. You can monitor ONE mobile DVR by setting the MAC/IP address. 6.3 Mobile Manager Install the program on a PC. It can play back video, monitor live video, and access the DVR menu settings on both ETHERNET connection and wireless networking. You can monitor many mobile DVR‟s. Each Mobile Manager has own IP address (server) and Mobile server setting is on DVR MENU. 7. DVR SETTING 7.1 Front Panel 7.2 Air Card Connection 48 Insert the Air Card into front of DVR. Air card must be USB type. 7.3 Operation Press the 7.3.1 button for about two seconds. DVR Menu Setting Enter the Menu, select the LINK. Select the WIRELESS. 7.3.1.1 Auto/Manual Select the WIRELESS MODE between AUTO and MANUAL. * AUTO: When the DVR is POWER ON, wireless connection will work automatically. You don‟t need to press any buttons for the wireless function after power is on. * MANUAL: If you need a wireless connection, you must press 7.3.2 the button manually. On Wireless LED on DVR front will be lit steadily if the wireless connection is a success. The Monitor screen will display “Connected”. 7.3.3 Loading The Wireless LED on DVR will be blinking during connecting. (It takes 10~15 second.) 7.3.4 Off If you want to disconnect the wireless, Press the button while wireless is ON. 49 7.4 Verification 7.4.1 DVR Status Enter DVR STATUS, select the NETWORK STATUS. The IP ADDRESS will be changed if wireless connection is success. 7.4.2 DVR Screen The Monitor screen will display “Connected” and the Wireless LED of the DVR will be on if the wireless connection is a success. 8. MEDIA VIEWER 8.1 Connection Execute the MEDIA VIEWER on PC. 8.1.1 IP Adress Insert the IP address and Password, and enter „OK‟. 8.1.2 Mac Address Insert the MAC address and Password, and check the box of „connect through IP server‟. Press „OK. 50 8.2 Verification The DVR is connected. 9. MOBILE MANAGER 9.1 Connection Execute the Mobile Manager on PC. If MOBILE SERVER SETTING is correct, the list of mobile DVR‟s will display on Mobile Manger automatically. 51 Select the list of mobile DVR (image A), and press „Connect‟ button (image B). The DVR is connected. The location on the MAP and LIVE image and DVR information will display. 9.1.1 Mobile Server Setting Enter the MENU, select the LINK and WIRELESS. Insert the SERVER IP address. * MOBILE SERVER: You have to select one PC which can execute the Mobile Manager software. Make sure PC is open port. 52 If the PC uses firewall or common router, this PC can‟t be DVR SERVER. If it is behind a router, make the PC port to “12313”. 9.2 Verification The DVR is now connected. 53
