Table 1: Features and Benefits (Part 1 of 2) Features
Benefits
P2000 Host Software Integration
Provides a single, intuitive central software interface to configure and operate the controllers within the P2000 SMS.
IP Compatibility
Provides ease of installation, added flexibility, and potential cost savings in an existing IT infrastructure. IP-compatible controllers are auto-addressable with the use of an external Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) enabled server, or they can be manually configured using static IP addresses.
Power Over Ethernet (PoE)
Enables a single Ethernet cable to provide both power and communications to Mercury devices.
Support of Multiple Reader Technologies
Adds flexibility for systems that require a wide array of reader options, such as Wiegand®, clock and data, magnetic stripe, keypads, LCD, and biometrics.
Alarm Input Module
Allows the system to monitor high concentrations of supervised or unsupervised inputs together with a low requirement for output control. The CKM-MR16IN can support 16 general purpose input circuits.
Relay Output Module
Provides the ability to control high concentrations of outputs (16 general purpose) as Form C relay contacts, which can be used to control a variety of outboard devices for general facility control such as lighting, heating and cooling, door, and elevator control.
Security Panel Assemblies
Make it easy to power, house, and store the Mercury components in a secure enclosure and in a variety of configurations.
Elevator Integration Support
Allows P2000 to support up to 128 floors in a low-level interface with Mercury inputs and outputs used for floor selection and tracking. All elevator-related components are associated with a single Mercury controller.
Intrusion Integration Support
Enables sites to use Mercury components for an intrusion detection system within the P2000 SMS.
Data Expansion
Adds flexibility to expand a single data line into multiple data lines to meet difficult system design and installation challenges.

Access Platform CKM-MR51E IP Reader Interface Module The Access Platform CKM-MR51E is a networkconnected, single-door, power-over-Ethernet (POE) capable interface module that provides an ideal integration solution with the P2000 SMS. Two reader ports support separate in/out readers of all types and technologies, including Wiegand, clock and data, magnetic stripe, keypads, LCD, and biometrics. Auto-addressable and directly managed by the CKM-EP2500, CKM-EP1501, and CKM-EP1502 Mercury intelligent controllers, the CKM-MR51E is capable of elaborate processes and procedures without host intervention.
Application Notes Built on the Access Platform, the CKM-MR51E relates the activities of selected system devices to other devices within the system, generating actions and allowing activities to transpire independent of the host. The CKM-MR51E’s support of paired readers enhances the ability to meet installation challenges, such as placing readers at varying heights or distances to accommodate ingress and egress of handicapped, vehicle, or foot traffic. These readers can be logically linked together, yet function independently when access identification is presented to either one. When access rights are granted, the same relay functions, as programmed, to unlock the opening.

Access Platform CKM-MR50 The Access Platform CKM-MR50 is a low-cost, highperformance, single card reader interface module capable of all the I/O needed for controlling a single door. Each CKM-MR50 supports one card reader, two general purpose input monitor points, and two control relays to provide access control and security monitoring through a Mercury EP intelligent controller. The CKM-MR50’s reader port supports magnetic stripe, Wiegand, and RS-485 readers, including keypads and integrated keypad readers. Hardware interface and card format settings are downloaded through software commands. With its compact footprint and RS-485 connectivity, the CKM-MR50 can be clustered (multiple devices in an enclosure) or distributed (standalone) to best suit the installation environment. The inputs and the relays may be assigned to doorrelated functions or to general purpose I/O. The inputs support normally open, normally closed, supervised, and non-supervised circuits. End-of-line (EOL) resistance values are configurable. The relays can be configured for fail safe or fail secure operation.
Application Notes The CKM-MR50 is a versatile, reliable interface module for a single door. When connected to a Mercury EP intelligent controller, the CKM-MR50 passes access request and status change information to the intelligent controller for processing. Data and activities from selected system devices pass to other devices in the network, generating actions and activities as they transpire, independent of the host computer. Even when not connected to an intelligent controller, the CKM-MR50 is capable of locally processing access requests based on facility code verification. Up to eight facility codes may be active in each CKM-MR50.

Access Platform CKM-MR52
Application Notes
The CKM-MR52 is a low-cost, high-performance reader interface module that provides all the I/O needed for controlling two doors with auxiliary point control and monitoring. Each unit provides out-bound flexibility for Authentic Mercury EP Series intelligent controllers supporting two card readers, eight general purpose input monitor points, and six control relays.
The CKM-MR52 is a versatile and reliable reader interface module for two doors. When connected to a Mercury EP intelligent controller, the CKM-MR52 passes access requests and status change information to the controller, processing data and activities from selected system devices to other devices in the network, generating actions and activities as they transpire, independent of the P2000 host computer. Even when not connected to an intelligent controller, the CKM-MR52 is capable of locally processing access requests based on facility code verification. Several facility codes may be active in each CKM-MR52.
With two-wire RS-485 connectivity, the CKM-MR52’s two reader ports support magnetic stripe, Wiegand, and RS-485 readers, including keypads and integrated keypad readers. The inputs and the relays may be assigned to doorrelated functions or to general purpose I/O. The inputs support normally open, normally closed, supervised, and non-supervised circuits. End-of-line (EOL) resistance values are configurable. The relays can be configured for fail safe or fail secure operation.

DM-21 Intrusion Display The DM-21 Mercury intrusion display provides an interactive link to the P2000 Security Management System, enabling system operators to perform various intrusion-related tasks. The DM-21 displays text as sent by the controller, providing alarm status feedback or other freeform messaging or instructions that the system generates. In a P2000 intrusion application, the DM-21 intrusion display allows operators to arm and disarm areas of the facility, and bypass zones, directly from the device. The P2000 software enables administrators to define and manage logical intrusion components (areas and zones). The DM-21 combines a 32-character LCD display and a multi-position keypad. Even in challenging settings, the backlit LCD yields clear information displays. The keypad features standard numerics and four function keys to select display options. The unit connects to the system via a 2-wire RS-485 link or a TTL connection.
Application Notes The DM-21 intrusion display is a core component that provides robust communications functionality within Mercury’s building block approach to system design. When combined with Mercury’s EP series of intelligent access platforms, the unit brings an interactive link and truly integrated functionality to the terminal, a major plus for end-user convenience and satisfaction.

Access Platform CKM-MUX-8 Multiplexer The Access Platform CKM-MUX-8 adds flexibility to convert multiple data lines into a single data line to meet difficult system design and installation challenges. Common uses include star topology, wiring schemes, home-run wiring, or when wiring distances exceed the 4,000-foot limit of the RS-485 standard. The CKM-MUX-8 utilizes bus-arbitration logic on a firstcome, first-serve basis and can detect and deactivate a broken channel to protect the integrity of the communications bus. The CKM-MUX-8 is an 8-port multi-device interface panel that provides the flexibility to take RS-485 or RS232 wiring inputs to create eight 2-wire RS-485 communication channels.
