Code No. LIT-1900830 Issued February 26, 2016 Mercury Reader Interface Modules Description Johnson Controls, Inc. now offers Mercury Security Corporation’s high-quality access control hardware products, which can be integrated with the Johnson Controls® P2000 Security Management System (SMS) Version 3.12 and later, providing added flexibility to help you meet the needs of your site’s security requirements, using products from a well-known and time-tested security manufacturer. The following Mercury interface modules are available separately or as part of a pre-configured security control panel assembly housed in a secure enclosure: • • • CKM-MR51E IP reader interface module CKM-MR50 reader interface module CKM-MR52 reader interface module CKM-MR51E The interface is for use in low-voltage, Class 2 circuits only. The Access Platform CKM-MR51E is a network-connected, singledoor, Power Over Ethernet (PoE) capable interface module that provides an ideal integration solution with the P2000 SMS. Two reader ports support separate in/out readers of all types and technologies, including Wiegand, clock and data, magnetic stripe, keypads, LCD, and biometrics. Auto-addressable and directly managed by the CKM-EP2500, CKM-EP1501, and CKM-EP1502 Mercury intelligent controllers, the CKM-MR51E is capable of elaborate processes and procedures without host intervention. CKM-MR51E Reader Interface Module Specifications Item Specification Power Input PoE Power Input 12.95 W, compliant to Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.3af (or 10 to 14 VDC power supply) Power Output 12 VDC at 700 mA, including reader and AUX output Output: Form-C contacts: K1, K2: 5 A at 28 VDC Inputs: 4 supervised, End-of-Line resistors, 1k/1k - ohm, 1% 1/4 W standard Reader Interface Reader Power: 12 VDC ± 10% or pass through. (120 g) without bracket Temperature Operational: 0°C to 49°C Storage: -55°C to 85°C Application Notes Built on the Mercury Access Platform, the CKM-MR51E relates the activities of selected system devices to other devices within the system, generating actions and allowing activities to transpire independent of the host. The CKM-MR51E’s support of paired readers enhances the ability to meet installation challenges, such as placing readers at varying heights or distances to accommodate ingress and egress of disabled, vehicle, and foot traffic. These readers can be logically linked together, yet function independently when access identification is presented to either one. When access rights are granted, the same relay functions, as programmed, to unlock the opening. • • • • Flexible, versatile support of paired readers Network ready Easily installed Applied to a wide range of reader technologies Humidity 10% to 93% Relative Humidity Non Condensing (RHNC) Compliance1 United States: UL Listed Subassembly under UL 1076 for Proprietary Burglar Alarm Units and Systems, and under UL 294 for Access Control Systems Units; FCC compliant to the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules Canada: cUL Listed Subassembly under ULC/ORD-C1076 Proprietary Burglar Alarm Units and System; Class A digital apparatus, complies with Canadian ICES-003 Europe: CE Mark - Johnson Controls, Inc., declares that this product is in compliance with the EMC Directive Australia and New Zealand: RCM Mark, Australia/NZ emissions compliant Features • • • • • CKM-MR52 Technical Specifications Access Platform CKM-MR51E IP Reader Interface Module Benefits CKM-MR50 Multi-facility code support Multi-reader technology support PoE enabled Auto-addressable Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption support 1. Each CKM-MR50 supports one card reader, two general purpose input monitor points, and two control relays to provide access control and security monitoring through a Mercury EP intelligent controller. CKM-MR50 Technical Specifications (Part 2 of 2) Item (Continued) Specification Temperature Operational: 0° to 49°C Storage: -55° to 85°C Humidity 10 to 93% RHNC 1 Compliance The CKM-MR50’s reader port supports magnetic stripe, Wiegand, and RS-485 readers, including keypads and integrated keypad readers. Hardware interface and card format settings are downloaded through software commands. With its compact footprint and RS-485 connectivity, the CKM-MR50 can be clustered (multiple devices in an enclosure) or distributed (standalone) to best suit the installation environment. United States: UL Listed Subassembly under UL 1076 for Proprietary Burglar Alarm Units and Systems, and under UL 294 for Access Control Systems Units; FCC compliant to the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules Canada: cUL Listed Subassembly under ULC/ORD-C1076 Proprietary Burglar Alarm Units and System; Class A digital apparatus, complies with Canadian ICES-003 Europe: CE Mark - Johnson Controls, Inc., declares that this product is in compliance with the EMC Directive Australia and New Zealand: RCM Mark, Australia/NZ emissions compliant The inputs and the relays may be assigned to door-related functions or to general purpose I/O. The inputs support normally open, normally closed, supervised, and non-supervised circuits. End-of-line (EOL) resistance values are configurable. The relays can be configured for fail safe or fail secure operation. 1. CKM-MR50 must be installed in CKM enclosure to be UL Listed. Application Notes Access Platform CKM-MR52 The CKM-MR50 is a versatile, reliable interface module for a single door. When connected to a Mercury EP intelligent controller, the CKM-MR50 passes access request and status change information to the intelligent controller for processing. Data and activities from selected system devices pass to other devices in the network, generating actions and activities as they transpire, independent of the host computer. Even when not connected to an intelligent controller, the CKM-MR50 is capable of locally processing access requests based on facility code verification.
