DCPS Computer Software Which versions of software can be installed? You are always licensed for the current version of Microsoft software included in our agreement as long as the agreement is active. You are also allowed to downgrade to previous supported versions of the software that are still under support by Microsoft.
Which software is included for DCPS workstations? All workstations:

Virtual Desktop Access
Basic System Center Clients
Standard Core CAL allowing access to standard features on servers: Windows, Exchange, SharePoint, Lync
Employee workstations are also granted Enterprise features for Exchange, System Center, SharePoint, and Lync.
Which software is licensed for external access? All software that is granted a client access license in our agreement is also granted external access.

How do I purchase Microsoft software that is not included in our EES agreement? Request a quote from the State Academic Select license. SHI is the Florida Department of Management Services chosen sole source supplier for Microsoft Software under State Contract number 252-001-09-1. The expiration date of the Academic contract is 2/28/2016. Retrieve Internet Provided Pricing in Excel format via this URL: http://www.florida.shi.com Web site pricing is updated periodically (typically monthly) and is not guaranteed without obtaining a quote as pricing changes frequently. Can I downgrade to an earlier version of the software? Yes, you are granted the right to use previous versions of the software that are still supported by Microsoft, and are licensed under the Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES) agreement. Once installed, you are not limited to that version. You can upgrade to the current version at any time as long as we are covered under the EES agreement.
Can I have the software key and do my own installation? No. The DCPS Enrollment for Education Solutions agreement does not allow us to disclose our volume license keys to faculty, staff, or students.

Home Use Program and Student Option What is the Home Use Program? The home use program is a software assurance benefit granted under DCPS’s Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES) agreement. For a nominal fee (currently $9.95), it provides licensed Duval County Public Schools full-time and part-time employees access to a single license of the current version of Microsoft Office Professional Plus or Office for Mac (not both). Full-time and part-time employees will be directed to the website to receive their employee software via the home use program using this URL: http://esw.duvalschools.org
What is the Student Option? The student option is a software assurance benefit granted under DCPS’s Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES) agreement. At no charge, it provides licensed Duval County Public Schools students access to a single upgrade license of the current version of Microsoft Windows. If installing to a Macintosh machine, students can use their Windows license to install either as Bootcamp or as a virtual machine such as Parallels or VMWare. They are also granted access to a single license of either Microsoft Office Professional Plus or Office for Mac (not both). Duval County Public Schools’ students will be directed to the website to receive their software via the student option using this URL: http://ssw.duvalschools.org
Can employees install Microsoft Office from the EES agreement on their home computer? Yes. All full-time and part-time Duval County Public Schools staff and teachers can purchase at a nominal fee one copy of Microsoft Office Professional Plus or Office for Mac for personal noncommercial use.
Can students install Microsoft Office from the EES agreement on their home computer? Yes. All Duval County Public Schools students receive at no charge one copy of Microsoft Office Professional Plus or Office for Mac for personal non-commercial use.
Can employees install Windows on their personal computer under this agreement? No. A personal copy of Windows is not a benefit for employees under the EES agreement.
Can students install Windows on their personal computer under this agreement? Yes. A personal copy of Windows Upgrade is a benefit for students under the EES agreement.

Does DCPS provide support for my home computer when installing software from the home use program or student option? No, DCPS does not provide support for personal software on home computers. Microsoft has variety of support options available to you, some at no charge. http://support.microsoft.com/
Is there a fee to employees for the Office software? Yes. There is a nominal fee to purchase the software. It is currently $9.95.
Is there a fee to students for the Windows and Office software? One copy of Windows and Office Professional Suite are free for students. Optional physical media is $13.95 and 2 years extended download service is $4.95. Purchase of one of these options is recommended to ensure your ability to reinstall your software in the event of hardware failure. Physical media is required to install Windows on a Mac.
Is the employee granted a perpetual license to the software? No. The right to use the software is terminated when either of the following occurs:

The enrollment expires and DCPS does not renew it. The expiration date of our current enrollment is July, 2016.
Is the student granted a perpetual license to the software? No. The right to use the software is terminated when the student is no longer enrolled at Duval County Public Schools.
Can students install software from the EES agreement on their home computer? Yes. All students currently attending Duval County Public Schools can download one copy of the current version of Windows and one copy of the current version of Microsoft Office Professional Plus for their own personal, non-commercial use on one computer.
Can students install Windows on their personal computer under this agreement? Yes. A personal copy of Windows is a benefit for students under the EES agreement.
Can employees install older versions of Microsoft Office on their home computer? No. The home use program only provides the current version of the software. That is currently Microsoft Professional Plus 2013.
What versions of Windows is Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 compatible with? Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 is compatible only with Windows 7 and Windows 8. It does not run on Windows XP or Windows Vista.
What versions of Mac OS X is Office:mac compatible with? Microsoft Office:mac is compatible with Mac OS X version 10.05.008 or later. VERSION 1.2: 8/29/2013

Select “Checkout” Add your Billing and Payment Information. Currently, they accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal. Select “Confirm your order” Verify your information is correct Read the Terms and Conditions, then select the box to accept them titled, “Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions is required for purchase.” Select “Complete purchase” Once payment is complete, a “Thank You” page will display with your order number and details, including your Microsoft Office Product Key and information on how to download your purchase. You will also receive an email with your product key and a download link.

Can you show me how to sign up under the student option? Open your browser and go to: http://ssw.duvalschools.org Login using your DCPS student login username and password.
Select your choice of software. You may select one copy of Windows Upgrade and/or one copy of Office at no charge.
For Windows Upgrade, select the tabs for the language and type of computer, then select, “Add To Cart.” For Office, select your language, then select, “Add To Cart.”

* Recommended: If you want a backup software DVD, you can add it at this point for $13.99. Physical media is required if you are installing Windows on a Mac. If you would like to have Extended Access to download the software or a backup disk, select those items you would like to have, then select, “Add To Cart.” There is a nominal fee of $4.95 for 2 years of online backup access, and $13.95 for a backup disc. Be sure and choose the correct language for your disc.

When you select “Check Out,” read and agree to the Microsoft Student License. You must fill out your StudentLoginID, your signature by typing your first and last name, then select the, “I Accept” button. Your StudentLoginID and First and Last Name must match the information in your DCPS account.
Answer the required survey questions denoted by a red asterisk, then select, “Next.”

Verify your cart, enter your personal information in the “Order Information” section, then select, “Proceed With Order.”
Note: If you are on the DCPS network, your product key may not be displayed on this confirmation screen. If this occurs, retrieve your product key by selecting “Your Account/Orders” from the menu at the top of the screen, then select “View Details” on your order. This will display the screen with the product keys and a “Start download” link. You will receive an “Order Receipt” email with the details of your order.
