A boom is a boom, right? Not at Terex. Here, you have a choice. Choose from a selection of three booms to suit individual job site requirements. And take advantage of the option to extend the dipper stick. Our booms have been designed and produced to stand up against impact damage. KNICKMATIK® BOOM SYSTEMS With the off-set boom, operators can carry out work in the most confined job sites. The overall angle of articulation is 120°. This is of particular advantage for excavation across the machine’s entire track width on both sides without repositioning the machine. The design of the Knickmatik® cylinders provides protection from collision damage. Terex midi crawler excavators can be configured for individual jobsite requirements using different boom systems and extendable dipper sticks. TOP-MOUNTED CYLINDERS Articulated boom: Providing excellent vertical digging depths, reach and considerable dumping heights, the articulated boom is adaptable to a wide range of jobsite requirements. By positioning cylinders on top of the boom rather than on the exposed underside, they have much greater protection from impact damage when operating on spaceconstrained jobsites. Hose routing along the upper half of the boom has also been configured to provide protection from impact damage while remaining accessible for maintenance. This allows operators to work closer to walls, reach over and excavate around obstructions and clamp objects between bucket and boom without damaging critical components. Monobloc boom: The monobloc boom offers large digging depths. The sturdy design permits high loading of material. Circular boom: Unique to Terex, no other boom on a midi excavator is able to cover such a small working envelope. This makes the circular boom particularly suitable for narrower construction sites. DIPPER STICK The standard reach and digging depth can be adjusted for expanded use with a longer dipper stick, available as an option. There are two options, standard and long. What this means for you: Cylinder with end-position cushioning for reduced vibration operations. Articulated cylinder inside the upper-carriage structure to protect from damage. Large angle of articulation with protected cylinder. Knickmatik® in combination with short-tail version – ideal for very narrow construction sites. 9 10 UNDERCARRIAGE THE RIGHT DIMENSION. Treading carefully is second nature for our midi excavators. When equipped with steel tracks they’re sturdy on tough ground; with rubber or broad steel tracks they move lightly over soft surfaces making it the perfect machine for working on off-road applications. And the dozer-blade is designed to complement the tracks perfectly. DOZER BLADE TRACKS The contours of the rounded dozer blade provides excellent material flow when levelling. The optional flow position also helps when performing in this application. The steel tracks fitted as standard are sturdy on rough terrain. The design provides a large contact area for a more comfortable ride. Optional rubber tracks can also be chosen for special applications. Terex offers the dozer blade in an ultra-wide design optimally aligned with the track width. Work can be performed with the bucket right against the dozer blade for clearing the construction site. Our machine is designed so that little dirt gets into the track when levelling. DIFFERENT TRACK VARIANTS Depending on the terrain and application: • Rubber tracks – long pitch track pattern for soft surfaces, e.g. sand. – short pitch track pattern for hard surfaces, e.g. asphalt. • Standard steel track – robust on rough terrain. • Wide steel track – reduces ground pressure when working on soft sub-surfaces. • The Roadliner combi combines the advantages of both the steel and rubber tracks and works well on varied surfaces. What this means for you: To help manage costs, only the rubber shoe on the steel tracks needs to be replaced when worn, not the whole track, as is the case with rubber tracks. Lower operating costs through an easy to maintain crawler unit with idler suspension and hydraulic track tension. Drive motor and gears are safely protected from damage. Independent individual control of the crawler tracks for precise tracking manoeuvres. 11 DRIV E TECHNOLOGY & HYDRAULICS POWERED FOR PEAK PERFORMANCE. Our midi excavators direct power to where it’s needed most. Powerful hydraulics and drive systems across the range increase your job site productivity while auto shift and auto idling simplify the machine’s controls for the driver. LOAD-INDEPENDENT FLOW DISTRIBUTION (LUDV) The proportional flow rate distribution provides increased comfort when controlling the machine. Through the separation of travel drive and working hydraulics the operator always has the ideal power to drive. The system thereby simplifies handling of the machine considerably, as it obeys the driver’s commands without compromise. Advantages of the LUDV hydraulic system: • All functions can be controlled simultaneously and independently from one another. • High pivoting speed at low motor speed. • Sensitive control of all functions at every motor speed, independent of load. • Higher productivity. • The load sensing hydraulics are distinguished by precise metering of hydraulic oil, resulting in great efficiency. • Reduces fuel consumption. What this means for you: Excellent and precise control of the excavating equipment and no readjustments in tough environments. Accurate and smooth driving. Fuel consumption reduced automatically, which saves costs. High hydraulic pressure and flow for increased performance for attachments. 12 AUTOSHIFT The autoshift driving gear features automatic pressurecontrolled switching between the speed ranges – important for levelling activities. AUTO IDLING SYSTEM As a result of the auto idling system, the engine goes into idle rpm when not in use for several seconds – reducing emissions, saving fuel and reducing noise. The machine immediately returns to the previous setting when the operator touches the controls. 13 OPERATOR COMFORT COMFORTABLE AND PRECISE. Sit back, stretch your legs in the roomy cab and enjoy the excellent view of the job site from the cab of the Terex midi excavator. Operators of our machine work in the best conditions so they produce the best results. THE CAB Across the range, small details including ease of access with grab handles and footplates, front window and door glass to floor level for job site visibility and simple, uncluttered instrument panels have been designed to enhance the operator experience. With noise and vibration cushioning, operators can work in a cab environment that is both comfortable and functional to aid productivity. With a range of premium comfort options available, including an air-cushioned driver seat, your Terex midi excavator can be personalised to your requirements. What this means for you: Increased precision for all work loads, in particular for positioning loads. 14 TEREX® FINGERTIP CONTROL With Terex fingertip control, the electro-proportional control works simply by using a roller on the joystick. From the cab, the driver can precisely control the oil flow from zero to full, which is ideal when operating attachments such as clamshell, swing-bucket and roadsweeper. 15 ATTACHMENTS & ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT MORE OPTIONS. Your midi excavator needn’t be pigeon-holed into one task. Through a range of attachments that can be fastened quickly and easily, the machine can perform numerous tasks on your job site, making it a profitable choice.
