General description About EvaQ EvaQ is a certified voice alarm evacuation system. A typical EvaQ Mini system consists of 4 different components. The Wall mount control unit with a build in power supply, a control panel, end of line units or isolators and loudspeakers are the key elements for a functional EvaQ Mini system. EvaQ Mini wall mount cabinet The EvaQ mini wall mount cabinet contains all the intelligence needed to drive the system. It is the technological hub of the EvaQ Mini system setup and contains the primary power supply. Audio sources, control panels and smart interfaces can be linked directly to the wall mount cabinet. Smart electronics in the control unit process the audio signals, offer a digital memory for predefined texts and alarm audio signals. Every single wall mount cabinet contains one or more amplifier modules to feed amplified signals to the connected speakers. A backup amplifier is included in each system unit. The unit drives 4 or 6 zones and can either handle up to six loops or up to twelve feeder lines. By linking more wall units to each other a scalable and decentralized system setup is established. This helps to reduce the amount of loudspeaker cable within large sites. The Wall mount unit can be equipped with or without a build-in control panel and work with prioritized additional control panels to create maximum flexibility to control larger sites. D010.072014.1.0 Page 4 of 11 Product Specifications Wall mount system configuration A basic wall mount system starts with 600W/100Vac output power that can be divided over 4 to 6 loudspeaker zones (groups) depending on the chosen configuration. Each amplifier in the EvaQ system is capable of generating an output power of 5 – 600Watt. By placing additional amplifiers more amplification power is made available to the loudspeaker zones. The primary power supply in the single cabinet is capable of driving 1200W of amplification power. By application of a power extension cabinet, an additional power supply is available to provide the single cabinet system with an additional 1200W output power. The EvaQ wall mount concept works with a simple 3 step power scale up: single cabinet EvaQ Wall mount System configuration Single cabinet with power expansion cabinet basic step 1 step 2 step 3 Available zones 6 6 4 6 Applied number of amplifiers 5-600W 1 2 4 6 Standard backup amplifier 5-600W 1 1 1 1 Primary power supply 1200W 1 1 Secondary power supply 1200W Available maximum output power 600W 1200W 1 1 1 1 2400W 2400W Next to the power scale up, the system can be set into 3 type of field cable configurations using a matrix card. Each system needs to have one matrix card to be fully operational: • • • A matrix card for loop configuration, up to 6 loops per cabinet (and use of isolators) A matrix card for feeder line configuration, up to 12 lines per cabinet (and use of end of line units) A matrix card for A/B line configuration, up to 12 outputs (use of A/B switch and A/B loudspeakers) Wall mount control panel For Wall mount units with a build-in control panel all paging and evacuations can be managed from the wall unit itself. To access the control panel simply use the key to open the first cabinet door. The control buttons on the panel provide flexibility in control. They can be configured to control single zone outputs or groups of zone outputs for larger building parts. Text labels can be added to specify the detailed function of each button. All control activities and system statuses are visualized by power efficient LED indications on the panel. D010.072014.1.0 Page 5 of 11 Product Specifications 2.
