I. Campus Rules and Code of Conduct for Students Objectives of the Code :
Applicability of the code :
Rules and regulations are meant to mark the contours of order and discipline in the campus facilitating overall personal and professional development of the student. To cultivate higher values of honesty, integrity, responsibility, mutual respect for persons and property and respect for the human rights among its students, the student community should necessarily practice these values and see that the rules envisaged in this code are strictly followed so that their conduct will be in conformity with, supportive of and conducive to the Institute‘s very objective and cherished values.
The code shall be applicable to all the students admitted to the Institute including any academic programme, activity or event conducted by the Institute. It is the responsibility and duty of each and every student to become acquainted with all the provisions of the code. It is presumed that every student from the date of his/her admission in the Institute under any academic programme / activity / event has knowledge of this code. All students coming within the above categories are required to strictly adhere to this code as a condition of their admission to the institute.
Responsibilities of the students
•
To read, become familiar with, and adhere to this code and any amendment brought to this code.
•
To foster and maintain a vibrant academic, intellectual, cultural and social atmosphere which is consistent with the objectives of the institute.
•
To access all educational opportunities and benefits available at the institute and make good use of them to prosper academically and develop scientific temper.
•
To respect the laws of the country, human rights and to conduct in a responsible and dignified manner at all times.
•
To report any violation of this Code to the functionaries under this Code.
A. General Conduct in Campus Area :

Students must treat their teachers and supervisors with courtesy and gratitude, and must follow strictly professional behavior in the college campus at all times.

Students (alone or in a group) are prohibited from indulging in antiinstitutional, anti national, antisocial, communal, immoral or political expressions and activities within the campus and hostels.

MITSOE campus is a “smoking free and alcohol free campus”. Possession or consumption of narcotic drugs, tobacco, alcohol and other intoxicating substances and non-vegetarian foods are strictly prohibited in the campus and hostels.

The institute being a place of learning and an exclusive academic zone, nobody shall respond to any call for any form of strike, procession or agitation.

Possession or usage of weapons, explosives or anything that causes injury / damage to the life and limb or body of any human being or property is prohibited. Any case of criminal activity or violation of law and order in the institute campus shall be reported to the police.

B. College timings : Monday to Friday
Classroom/ Practical Sessions : 9.00 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.
Administrative Office : 09.00 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. Student should interact with various sections of offices in the lunch break or after college.
C. Examination Hall : a . The students must report for university or internal examination that is conducted in semester pattern b. Malpractice of any kind will not be allowed during the internal/ university examination. Students who indulge in copying from neighbors with paper chits/books/notes/calculators/cell phones etc., will be severely dealt with as per the prescribed university norms and rules as applicable for all university examinations. c.

Admission date, Examination form, photocopy, revaluation/ verification date should be strictly followed by all students.
D. Classrooms, Laboratories : 1. All students must attend laboratory sessions or classes with punctuality and preparation. 2. Requisite records should be brought to the classes and instructions should be followed accordingly.
Students should safe-guard their personal belongings and valuables.
3. Students should keep their mobile phones on silent mode in classroom/ practical session. 4. Students are encouraged to voice their opinions and engage each other in healthy technical discussions and debates. 5. Students should keep their bags and footwear properly outside the lab in the predefined area. 6. Students should switch off the computers, fans, and other appliances after their sessions. 7. Use of Internet for the purpose other than academic related activities is banned.
E. Library- Learning Resource Center : Library Services like Catalogue Search, Book reservation, Issue/Return, as well as all the other activities are done with the help of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP- Cloud computing application of TCS). Library also provides various other services to its clientele like CAS, SDI, Document Delivery and Newspaper Clipping & on demand online Searching Services. Daily Newspaper Service is rendered through daily newspapers, to all users of Library also has a facility of READING ROOM.
F. Attendance : • It is imperative that a student attends the classes from the day of opening to the last day of each term during the academic year. • Students will not be granted medical leave of any sort. • Students below 75% overall attendance and 100% attendance in practical sessions will be detained and will not be allowed for submissions of the term and examination. Disciplinary Action: Any student failing to satisfy above conditions will be detained for the academic year and will be refrained from sitting for the University examination for that term.

G. Examination system and Academic Performance The Bachelor of Engineering curriculum evaluates an undergraduate student on the basis of totality of his/her performance in the internal examination and the external (University) examination for theory and practical subjects. 1. The student should complete all the assignment such as journals, drawing sheets, workshop or any other assignment as per schedule. If students are found presenting as their own, assignments, presentations or projects that are copied from others, they will be strictly punished.
Credit System is being followed as per the course structure.
2. Student and parents should especially note that if a student fails to complete the assignment regularly and to the entire satisfaction of the Head of the department, he / she will not be allowed to appear for the university examination. 3. The continuous assessment performance of a student is gauged on the set of guidelines set up by the institution. Note: Procurement of any stationary item, forms (exams and other) should be done from the college stores on payment of the specified charges.
H. Vehicles and Parking 1. Rash or negligent driving of vehicles in the institute premises is prohibited . 2. Vehicles should be parked in the parking space identified for students only. 3. The student using the two wheelers are asked to limit the speed up to 20 km /hr and not to have more than one pillion rider. Disciplinary action: students found violating above rules, may be banned from driving any kind of vehicles in the campus.
I. Ragging and Misconduct 1. Ragging of any form is banned in the campus as well as in the hostel and, all senior students are asked to adhere to his rule .Any student facing exploitation in this regard, should report to the Anti-Ragging committee. 2. Do not indulge in any act of sexual harassment of any woman. Any student facing exploitation in this regard, should report to the woman Redressal Committee.

Disciplinary action : Any student found violating above rules will be subject to strict disciplinary action leading to expulsion of the student.
J. Dress Code and Attire • The pre-defined Students Dress Code must be worn on every Monday and Thursday without fail. Students Dress Code: Boys – Lavender shirt, steel grey trouser, maroon tie, steel grey blazer, black formal shoes. Girls – Lavender shirt, steel grey trouser, steel grey blazer, black belly shoes. • The college identity-card must be worn by the students at all times while in the campus and should be produced on demand (by authorities). • On week days, other than Mondays and Thursdays, all students must wear formal clothing. Descent shirts/ collared T shirts and trousers are permitted. • During workshop practical sessions students must compulsorily wear apron / boilersuits. • Wearing of informal clothing namely, tee-shirts, tops, skirts, jeans that are kneelength, three-fourth or low waist, six-pocketed or cargo pants, pants or clothes with cuts, short-pants, fancy clothes is strictly disallowed. Disciplinary Action: Any student found in improper attire will be asked to leave the campus for the day and will not be allowed to attend the day’s sessions.
K . Hostel In line with industry standards, the college has built up a wellfurnished hostel, managed by an experienced in-house warden. Each room is furnished with closets, study-table, chairs, cots with beds etc. 1. Student residing in the college hostel must necessarily adhere to all the rules of hostel.

2. Hostel residents must take good care of the entire property of the institution that they have been facilitated with. Students stealing the belongings of the others will be strictly punished and may lead to cancellation of admission of the defaulter. 3. All hostel and mess dues must be paid by the residents on time. 4. Ragging of any form is banned in the campus as well as in the hostel and all senior students are asked to adhere to this rule. 5. Students must strictly adhere to the timings of the hostel. Out time: 6.30am

6. Prior permission needs to be taken from the warden in case of the student needs to go on a short / long leave. 7. Warden may at any time cross-check with the parents whether the student should be allowed to leave. 8. Students should strictly adhere to the timings of the mess for breakfast, lunch & dinner. 9. Students should understand the value of food and not waste it. Students would not be allowed to carry food in the rooms. 10. Use of electrical appliances such as iron, induction cooker, water heater, kettle is strictly prohibited. 11. Students are not allowed to access certain restricted sites on the internet. 12. No student shall take any visitor including his / her parents to the room. Violation of any of the above rules can lead to rustication from hostel and college.
L. Cleanliness 1. All students are advised to maintain the environment and keep the campus clean. 2. Students shall only use the waste bins for dispensing waste materials within the Campus including classrooms, hostels, offices, canteen and mess. 3. Writing on walls, toilets, road and pasting of posters on the wall are strictly banned.
M. Mentoring 1. All the students of MITSOE will be assigned mentors for individuals mentoring sessions. 2. Students should report to their respective mentors periodically. 3. Students should plan, participate and submit their participation and achievement records in various curricular, cocurricular and extra- curricular events. 4. The semester submission of the student is subject to satisfactory remarks from the respective mentor. 5. If a students requires any kind of assistance then he/ she must approach first to the class teacher. 6. All first year engineering students have to undergo psychometric test .
N. Sports and Recreation Olympic level Swimming Pool. Huge lawn tennis courts, Basketball facility is available for all the students residing in the campus. This facility is also used for various State, National and International level competitions and championships. The recreation room has been set up for the students, where they are free to use facilities during their free time. The sports ground houses a number of outdoor games facilities like Football, Cricket, Volley ball, Gym for Girls and Boys, Lawn Tennis Court and Basket Ball Court. Special care is taken for the maintenance of the entire ground. Indoor game facilities like Table tennis, carom, Badminton are also provided.

Batches and time schedule will be allotted to the registered students. 4. For Indoor sports and Gymnasium non marking shoe is compulsory. 5. Swimming Costume & cap is Compulsory for Swimming. 6. All students should be in proper sports kit while playing e.g. T. Shirts, Shorts/Lower & Sports shoes. 7. Please Read the Swimming Instructions before entering the Swimming pool. 8. There will be change in schedule as and when necessary.

MANET, Pune was established in 2001, at Pune to impart world class maritime training. MANET is approved by D.G Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India. MANET has been awarded A+ (Outstanding) rating during the Comprehensive Inspection Programme (CIP) initiated by DG Shipping, Govt. of India. MANET has also been approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Government of Japan. This allows Cadets from MANET to work on board Japanese flagged ships. MANET, Pune has developed Ship in Campus Facility, state of art Infrastructure, luxuriously furnished hostel facility and excellent sports facilities for the overall development of the cadets. Till date we have produced 2000+ officers in different challenging fields of marine and nautical sciences.

MIT CFT was established in year 2006 which offers B.Tech in food processing Technology. It has state -of -art -food processing plant in campus and it is preferred widely by students for B.Tech course.
