MAXcess-3000/3004 I/O Modules MLS-3, MLS-6 3 or 6 Channel Low Speed Data Modules • • • • FEATURES • Low speed data modules • • • • • • with three or six channels Support for Frame Relay, FR+, HDLC, async and transparent bit stream V.24/RS-232 at data rates up to 64 kbps Complies with Frame Relay standards: LMI, ANSI T1.617 Annex D, ITU-T Q.933 Annex A Performs Frame Relay encapsulation and local switching with DLCI routing Fits into any I/O slot in the MAXcess-3000/3004 chassis SNMP agent for configuration and control using RADview PC or HPOV DESCRIPTION • • • • MLS-3 and MLS-6 provide three or six low speed async/sync data channels, respectively, for the MAXcess-3000/3004. Data rates are soft-selectable from 9.6 bps (for FR, FR+, HDLC ) or 1.2 kbps (for async, transparent) up to 64 kbps. Each port can be set to a different channel speed. All ports have V.24/RS-232 interfaces. Each channel can be configured to one of three timing modes allowing support for most applications: – DCE mode, providing both transmit and receive clocks to the DTE – DTE mode, where both transmit and receive clock are accepted as input, allowing connection to a network All channels support prioritization and packet segmentation mechanism, for high-quality voice over Frame Relay. Automatic self-test, buffer monitoring and alarm reporting is performed during power-up and normal operation. Each channel terminates with a 26-pin, high density female connector. The MLS-3 and MLS-6 modules support the following control signals to the adjacent DTE: RTS, CTS, DSR, DTR, DCD. The MLS-3 and MLS-6 modules are supported by RADview PC or HPOV SNMP management system.
