The lock should be mounted as far from the hinge side of the door as possible for maximum clearance of the Tamper Shield. Locate the Armature and install the mounting hardware according to the instructions included with the lock. The spring washers fit between the Armature and the Tamper Shield. The washers will hold tension on the Shield but allow it to be moved into position. The Shield must be positioned with the door closed to allow about 1/16” clearance on the bottom and equal spacing on each side. Open and close the door and verify that the Shield clears both sides of the lock, adjust as necessary so the Shield does not hit the lock when the door is opened and closed. Once the Shield location has been verified the Tamper Shield MUST be secured to the door. Mark the door in the centers of the small screw holes in the Shield. Use a 3/32” drill bit to drill holes ½” deep in the door and Secure the Shield in place with the two #6 screws provided. This keeps the Shield from moving out of position and preventing the door from closing.
