Description I/A Series MicroNet LONWORKS Interface
Communications LONWORKS
Hardware Specifications
Enclosure Molded ABS plastic case. Fire resistant to UL94. Power Supply Input 24 Vac, 50/60 Hz supplied from a transformer conforming to EN 60742.
The I/A Series MicroNet Interface provides the network-level management functions for a network of MicroNet controllers and displays. An RS-232 port on the MicroNet Interface furnishes a single connection to a PC running the MicroNet Tech Tool software. The LONWORKS® MicroNet Interface holds an Embedded Network Management database (ENM), which contains a list of all the LONWORKS devices on the network and the bindings between these devices. The MicroNet Interface features a built-in Realtime Clock that can be used for network time synchronization.
Applications The MicroNet Interface maintains a list of all the LONWORKS devices on the network and the bindings between these devices.
Connectivity The MicroNet Interface connects a PC running the MicroNet Tech Tool software to a communications network that is LONWORKS FTT-10 Free Topology. When connected to a modem, the MicroNet Interface can allow remote modem access from MicroNet Tech Tool.
Features— • Autoanswer operation on modem sites. • Two types of alarms: service alarms are autodialed every evening, while priority alarms are autodialed immediately.
• Password protection. • Stores up to four phone numbers. • Retains telephone numbers and passwords in flash • • • •

Communications LONWORKS Networks A LONWORKS communications network uses an FTT-10 Free Topology configuration. Controllers on a LONWORKS network can communicate with each other in a peer-to-peer fashion, and connect to the MicroNet Tech Tool software platform via the MicroNet Interface. The MicroNet Interface supports an ENM (Embedded Network Management) database with a complete listing of all devices on the network and the connections (bindings) between them. An optional Touch Screen Display (MNL-TSP or MNL-TSW) may be cable-connected directly to the LONWORKS network, to interface with connected MicroNet controllers. A LONWORKS network has a communications speed of 78k baud, using unshielded, twisted-pair cabling.
