LUNs in the 2 storage arrays in DCs A and B form a HyperMetro pair. The LUNs are represented with the same LUN WWN on and recognized as the same LUN by hosts. In this way, synchronous data mirroring is performed by the storage arrays, mutual access exclusion is achieved, and active-active arbitration is implemented.

A built-in data backup technology based on file system snapshots for local and remote data backup and recovery. 2 backup modes are supported: Local backup: Provides backup copies within a storage system to meet users' rapid backup requirements. Remote backup: Provides backup copies between storage systems. The 1st backup is a full backup. After that, each backup is an incremental backup. Users can remotely maintain one or more data copies.

Working principles A snapshot is created from the file system at the source end. Incremental data between a snapshot and the last backed-up snapshot is transferred. After the backup, a snapshot (backup copy) is created from the file system at the backup end. A certain number of copies are retained at the backup end. Recovery: snapshot rollback (local recovery) or using a copy saved at the backup end (remote recovery)
