Setting Wheel Centers on Model 40 High Clearance Adjustable Axle The model 40 HCAT spreader has great versatility. The farmer can have multiple row widths for different crops yet have the flexibility to use a single spreader on them all. Adjustable axles allow wheel centers to be set to: 72 inch, 76 inch, 80 inch, 92 inch, 120 inch This is accomplished by mirror image axle tubes with holes pre-drilled for the different settings. These axle tubes cannot be installed backwards or upside down due to the trailer construction. Axle tube with hub & tire installed in trailer side view Axle tube with hub installed in trailer without tire Each axle tubes is secured with 2 bolt assemblies. The bolts should be change yearly. The washers are manufactured by NCI specifically for this equipment. Do NOT substitute a different type of washer! 1 When inserting bolt assembly, bolt head is down, underneath the spreader. Add one washer. 3 Insert the bolt through the holes in the axle leg. 2 Place another washer on the axle frame. Secure with the lock nut Bolt head and washer are seated into trailer frame underneath the spreader when properly installed. © 2015 Newton Crouch Inc.
