Lid is held in place with friction and not threading. 2. Turn ON the Power Switch (I) and the Air Compressor will start and work continuously until it reaches its maximum preset pressure at which time it will automatically shut down. It will re-start when the pressure drops. 3. Holding the airbrush (part E) lightly in your hand, press the trigger (part #9) to activate air flow and color atomization. 4. Adjust the spray volume by moving the trigger front to back. When you have the correct spray volume, you may fix the position using the Adjustment Screw (part #17). 5. The spray pattern and color is controlled by the distance between the airbrush and work surface. For extra fine spray, remove the needle cover (part #1) and hold the airbrush closer to the work surface. NOTE: If any fluid blocks the Nozzle (part #3) from working, move the Needle Chucking Guide (part #12) back and forth. If this method does not clear the nozzle try loosening the Needle Adjustment Screw (part #17). This will allow a longer movement for the Needle (part #5) and allow the blocked fluid to escape, clearing the nozzle. CLEANING: Many coloring products used with airbrush systems are fast drying by design and can damage your airbrush gun if they are NOT flushed immediately. Empty the color cup and wash with water or a 50:50 vinegar and water solution. The airbrush gun should be cleaned by running the 50:50 solution through the color cup of the gun. Refill cup with water or 50:50 solution, then block the needle cover with a finger and spray. The air flows backward into the nozzle to clean the remaining color from the airbrush. Clean your airbrush gun before your first use and after each subsequent use to prevent any color build up. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Why does my compressor turn on and then shuts down after a few seconds? This is normal! The compressor will automatically “turn-off ” when it is fully pressurized. Spraying the airbrush gun releases air and will soon turn the compressor back on to re-pressurize. The air flow is too weak or too strong. Your air compressor has an adjustable regulator to control air pressure (part C). To allow for greater air pressure from your compressor, lift the air flow valve (part B), and turn the dial clockwise to increase or counter-clockwise to decrease the pressure. The color does not spray out of the gun. Pull back on the operating lever (part #9) to control the color flow. If this does not work, you need to adjust the position of the needle. Adjust the needle unscrewing the black plastic handle (part #16). Unscrew the Needle Chucking Nut (part #15) to allow for the needle adjustment. The needle should NOT be pushed all the way to the front of the gun. This causes the color to be blocked from flowing. Slightly pulling the needle back and re-tightening will allow better color flow. When I operate my air gun, the color seems to splatter instead of blowing a fine mist. Clean your airbrush. You may have dirt or sediment blocking the air and color flow. If this does not work, completely remove the needle (part #5) and inspect to ensure the point is not bent. Replacement needles are available at your local retailer. Can I use my airbrush gun for both food and non-food applications? For safety reasons we recommended that you use separate guns for food and non-food applications. Fat Daddio’s | PO BOX 30127 | Spokane, WA 99223 | www.fatdaddios.com Troubleshooting Compressor and Airbrush Problem Possible Causes Probable Solutions Air Compressor will not start. No power at outlet. Cord not connected. Check power at outlet. Check that cord is plugged in. Pressure is low causing a weak spray at Nozzle of Air Brush. Air connection is leaking. Air Hose is broken. Replace Air Hose or Air Hose Connections. Poor atomization when using Air Brush. The coloring viscosity is too thick. The Air Brush nozzle is plugged or dirty. The air connection is leaking. Check all air connections and make sure they are “air-tight”. Add correct thinning solution for type of coloring product you are using and mix thoroughly. Wash or replace the Air Brush nozzle. 90 Day Limited Warranty Fat Daddio’s professional airbrush system is protected by a limited 90 day warranty on any electrical failure, defects in material, design, or workmanship when used during normal use and as intended.
